It was quite a long wait for our table and the waiter wasn’t very attentive with our table, we had to wait a while for most things, however the food was fantastic and full of flavour, apart from the truffle mac and cheese missing the truffle flavour, it was based just on the food I would highly recommend it.

Went to Roast for Sunday lunch, choosing from the Sunday Market Menu. Experience was quite disappointing really. The venue was packed and rather chaotic. Food was generally good: my carrot, ginger & orange soup was lovely. I had roast beef which was nicely cooked. Roast potatoes were a little hard suggesting they’d been pre-cooked some time ago. Pudding was very nice - sticky date pudding - great comfort food for a rainy day!
Wine was very expensive for rather standard wines. The restaurant has different glasses for red/white and in different areas of the venue, but this policy was muddled, therefore we were served our white wine with two types of glasses on the table: poor presentation and lack of attention to a policy they have. If they can’t manage different glasses they should just have them all the same. Filtered tap water was charged for - always a rip off I think - and no alternative mineral.
Service was adequate but not worth the 12% they charge for it.
The place needs to up its game.

This is not our first visit but we had an excellent meal, Beef Wellington as the main course. the meal came with a sweetheart cocktail and we also had a glass of a Roast red wine. Service was good.

The service was below par based on my experience at this restaurant from previous visits. The mains arrived before the starter plates were cleared. We found ourselves looking for a server to top up the water and wine. And they were difficult to attract when we wanted the check.

I have often eaten here but the service has diminished over time. Last week was abysmal. The receptionist failed to notice us, when she did she told us someone would be with us shortly. She then continued her gossipy conversation with another member of staff behind her. The woman who did seat us was very flummoxed, presumably because she had too much to do, and the manager had to help. The original, very rude, receptionist was seen at this point gossiping with the bar staff. She should be removed in my opinion. The waiter was hopeless and couldn’t understand us. He also had BO issues which isn’t great when we’re choosing something to eat.
Food was average. It really does seem to have gone downhill and I won’t be going again. I had a similar experience a month or so ago so clearly this wasn’t a one off ‘bad day’

Great atmosphere in a really lovely spot overlooking Borough Market- light and airy with very attentive staff who were very helpful throughout. The meal was the Sunday 3-course set menu, and was a really enjoyable experience. Portions were incredibly big for the main course, which while this felt generous, was a little too much to manage. I had the chicken, which tasted very good, and all the side dishes were lovely- half as much would have been sufficient. It was lovely to have a personalised birthday dessert for my husband, however for some reason they wrote '40th Birthday' which seemed to be a mystery, and he consequently aged 8 years in the course of one meal!! This was a great Sunday treat for visiting family and on a special occasion, but the huge main course would make me think twice of coming again, as we all felt slightly too full after the full 3 courses.

It was a bit noisy so difficult to have conversations. A bit disappointed vegetarian option did not come with Yorkshire pudding. However the food was fantastic and full of flavour and the service was exemplary.

We had an excellent lunch at Roast sat at a table good view of the Market. The chateaubriand was outstanding as was the wine and the service. A most enjoyable experience which we look forward to repeating.

Fantastic food and location.
Service can be a little slow but almost certainly worth the wait.
The only concern is that it is expensive but I guess you are paying for the location and it’s not like the prices are hidden.
Overall , well worth a visit especially if you are a lover of red meat.

Even though we had booked days before we were still given a table in the middle of the restaurant when surely bookings should be given tables by the windows first.
Slow service. We had water served within 10 minutes and then another 10 mins when we indicated to a man in a blue suit who then indicated to a waiter to take our order. Long wait for food. A shame as food is good and we had a regular client discount code to use too.
Better service and Roast would be perfect.

Good food as ever, but the service needed a lot of work. Teas and coffees took as long as our food to serve. Asked for a jug of tap water. One glass each arrived a while later. No refills. Don’t think they were understaffed, just really slow. Breakfast for three took over an hour and we ordered relatively promptly.

This was my second visit to Roast. Again, a really warm welcome and the food was exceptional. The experience wasn't quite as good as my last visit however. Only because our server didn't offer us any water, the wine glasses were left on the table and we weren't brought any toast. This said we had a lovely breakfast and will return.

Menu was disappointing. Lots of beef amongst the main courses, and lots of heavy meat dishes for starters too. So we skipped the starter. Service was poor. Very inattentive. The only reason to recommend would be if you like a noisy, lively atmosphere - and lots of meat.

For the price it definitely wasn't worth it, $80 CAD
each for a three course roast dinner with only 2 small slices of meat is not what I want to spend my money on. We reserved this restaurant after recommendation from a friend but we're pretty disappointed.

Should of walked down the block to the pub where it was €20 including a pint.

My party of four were seated 30minutes late and it took a further 2hours and 30minutes to be served two courses. Staff were visibly incapacitated and rushed which created a poor vibe.

Overall I don’t think Roast presented value for money. We went for the three courses at £39 and paid extra for vegetables on the side. We had to wait a long time between the starter and main, which the Restaurant acknowledged. Once it arrived, the mains were nice but did not warrant the price. You can go to a number of other restaurants and pubs where you can have a delicious roast with all the trimmings included and a nice glass of wine for half the cost.

Unfortunately the service was terrible- we waited nearly 2 hours for our main course then no veg.
Deserts came at separate times. We had finished the food as they brought the gravy out!
The toilets had no paper and bins were over flowing with nappy bags and sanitary items.
We were offered a discount but the bill was still nearly £300 for possibly one of the worst dining experiences i have had.
Such a shame as we had not seen our friends for a long time and it really took the shine off our day.

We celebrated our anniversary at Roast last week and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The menu had lots of delicious options and the choices we made were very tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient and the extra fuss made as we were celebrating was lovely.

As always, the extremely warm and welcoming Roast didn’t disappoint on any level or as to any detail. The restaurant, a feast for the eyes, the service attentive but not obtrusive, and the food—-especially the puddings—-superb. You simply can’t go wrong here.

Steak over cooked leathery - asked for medium arrived very well done but credit to the manager they apologised and reduced the price for the steak by half. I will go back again and I am sure I will have a better experience.

I have eaten in Roast 6 times now and apart from the first time it has been very under welling. However this time is was truly dire sadly. The place has really gone down hill which is sad for such a great location in London. For what is a relativity expensive place the food was very poor. We all asked for out food at a particular temperature when the waitress asked to find the rather then rare all the main meal came at best well done or overcooked. Service was very poor apart from the Manager who was very nice when we complained. I felt like he often had to deal with complains by what he said and the poor man is trying to save a sinking ship.

I could go on in detail of all the faults with Roast but it does not desire my time. I have eaten in all types of eating establishment from a street stalls to 3 star restaurants. And if you combine cost to taste Roast must be one of the worst I have eaten in. If it were not for the location it would be the worst. I still go the bar for drinks often and would recommend going for a drink at the start of the night. However if you want to eat in London Bridge area there are many much better places to eat so I was not go to Roast. I feel the hay days of Roast are gone and it need to new lease of life which a new chef/owner. Sorry Roast but it is true.
