Plastic cups for sparking water, chaotic service staff not communicating with eachother. 4 different servers, with multiple order mistakes. The food was decent but over priced.
Went there with family for my birthday. Nice small restaurant, chilled ambience in the hustle and bustle of Soho. The food was great, we went for small plates, skewers, the j. Karage chicken was yum as were the kimchi gyoza and chicken Bao bun. Good variety of Japanese inspired cocktails too. Would definitely go back! Friendly service too :)
Just slightly less loud music would be great. People want to talk to each other when they go out for a meal.
Lovely food slightly expensive but you get what you pay for and this food was fab.
Great food & service.
Our waiter was lovely but the GF menu and food was bland and not tasty. Sushi was average - the fried chicken is delicious. When we spoke to manager about the gf skewers she was really rude to my friend who is celiac, and suggested that they couldn’t simply create a sauce that was gluten free - when they had gluten free soy sauce and could’ve just given us that, garlic and chives or something which the waiter said he would see what he could do to help out. Felt really bad coming here, as I’d been before, and seeing myself friend treated that way. We didn’t pay service charge but I was going to leave a tip for our lovely Spanish waiter, however the manager was really rude with the bill as well and payment / was really not nice, I won’t be coming again because of that
Terrible experience on a Friday night. The outside tables are in the street and packed in tightly against each other and the other restaurants on the street. Someone stole my friends’ phone off the table during dinner and when we asked for the security footage the manager laughed at us and said “we’ll, this is Soho”. The manager was also extremely rude later on. Overall, the service is HORRIBLE and I don’t recommend it.
It was packed at Robata when I went with a friend, as such we were sat at a table (which had been booked comfortably in advance) where we had to sit perpendicular to each other which, combined with the noise level, made it a pain to have a proper conversation.
The food, which although fairly priced, just wasn't substantial and it felt all too easy to run up the bill, my friend adored the lamb skewers but found her salmon to be "plastic-y" and hard to chew. The trio of skewers I ordered (pork belly, iberico pluma and chicken) were fine but nothing special, the chicken in particular could have used a more robust marinade.
Excellent food. Great service
Great and affordable Japanese food with a lovely quiet atmosphere which was a relief compared to the rest of China town! Was very impressed by how good the sushi and pork gyoza was for the price! And the Panna Cotta was DIVINE! I’ll be back for sure and would highly recommend.
The environment is really nice, great location and atmosphere, the food was an excellent experience.
The best of all was our waitress, Esther was lovely and so helpful with everything, she was doing her job properly and always with a smile!!!!
For sure we will be back to this place and ask for her 💯
Our meal was brought to us within 20 minutes of arrival. We were not asked if we wanted more drinks/ dessert. The bill was placed on the table without us asking for it and three waitresses came to our table and asked if we wanted to pay. It is not a fast food restaurant and therefore I do not understand why it behaves like one. Appalling service, would never go back.
Incredible food and service ! Great recommendations of cocktails from our server !
Had sold out of beer and this was at 7:30 pm. Never come across this in any type of restaurant, ever. Also Miso soup not on menu. This is very staple Japanese. Food was OK but no more. Chicken main course was very under whelming.
The bill came with an item of £83 that was something we had not ordered and not eaten. This was readily corrected by our server but still events like this are unpleasant and are inclined to cause some consideration about the establishment.
The senior waiter was a Spanish or Portuguese guy who did his best and was helpful but overall this was a disappointing experience on an occassion when I met with family (which happens rarely). I would be very unlikely to repeat a visit or recommend this to anybody else.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, great staff
Went there after Ronnie Scott’s .. was busy but the service & food was excellent. Would suggest booking . Great place in the heart of Soho
Great food and cocktails, friendly service, we will be back!
Absolutely loved the food here, can’t wait to visit again. The skewers, the sushi, the bao buns - all delicious!
We was given a table right by the kitchen although there was many booths and other tables available. The waiters and a friend stood behind us talking the whole time and made us feel uncomfortable whilst eating. There was also a weird smell coming from the kitchen.
The food was okay but definitely looks better than it taste, I would only come back for the sushi. Overall the whole experience was disappointing as I had high hopes due to the reviews - won’t be returning or recommending
Great meal. Good was delicious and even when eating pre theatre at 5:30 the restaurant didn’t once feel empty.
Drinks service at first was a bit slow but picked up after the first.
Would definitely recommend
Great food. Great service. Outdoor seating was terrific. Will be going again.
Dishes on the menu was great, we just ended up ordering to much for ourselves!
Very tasty Sea Bass ceviche and friendly waiters!
Amazing food, decent value, service okay, host had an attitude.
The food is incredibly good, and so are the cocktails. It was a shame the experience was ruined by how pushy they were to get us out of the table on time. They seated us nearly 15 min late yet they served us with the bill 15 minutes before our time was due. I even got pressured by the manager whilst my friend had gone to the bathroom just before leaving. A total shame.
Fabulous food from a great menu. Service very friendly if a little chaotic at times. A really great quick and relatively inexpensive place to eat. We’ll definitely go back
Not clean on entering, almost slipped on the floor and seat was dirty. Waitress proceeded to spray my leg with the cleaning product and missed the chair entirely. Staff forced the bill on us and asked us to finish our drinks before our time slot was over. Extremely rude staff, felt very rushed and was handled very unprofessionally. Felt like I was in a fast food restaurant.
A lovely find. Great selection of tasty food and excellent service! Will be back
Really really tasty food. Miso aubergine, truffle fries snd charcoal fillet steak were highlights, but it was all delicious. Very friendly servers, we had to ask for the bill 3 times to get it but no big deal
Amazing food! Iberico pork and bao buns were sensational. Can’t wait to visit again
Absolutely amazing sushi! Best I've had in a long time and the staff are very attentive. Had a lovely meal. Only down side is drinks are expensive but it is London after all!!
We looked at a lot of other Asian infusion restaurants in London including Sexy Fish. We opted for this one as we were staying close by to Soho and the reviews looked great. We wasn’t disappointed! Honestly the food is amazing! The best we’ve had and we have eaten at Ivy Asia in Manchester and this tops it! The Bao buns are delicious, the sushi was amazing and the Pork Belly and Truffle fries topped off the meal. I would highly recommend this place if looking for high quality food at a reasonable price in Soho! Oh and the Black Cod! Wow! 😍
Everything we tried was delicious, unique and came very quickly! Friendly staff and great atmosphere - not quiet but we had no problem having an intimate dinner. We'll be back!
Excellent food and well priced for the quality! Will be back
The waitress asked us if we wanted edamame beans with our drinks to which we said yes and she never brought them. She also took our bottle of wine away when there was still some left. She then very sneakily gave us double the amount of scallops (which were already expensive) on the same plate so it looked like it came this way then charged us double. Disappointing to say at the least.
Food was really amazing, we had a selection of skewers and small plates followed but the black cod and iberico pork, everthing exceeded expectations
The jerk chicken bao buns were so nice, the soft texture with the crispy interior was perfect; the balance of those features were sublime making the food even more enjoyable. Absolutely loved the place
I visited this restaurant with my friend as I had seen it on Instagram. The food was amazing along with the staff who made me free welcome.
We loved beef tataki, and Miso Aubergine was so yummy as well!!
What a great place to eat. We had a fantastic time and the food was amazing!
Top quality Japanese food.
