The food and drinks were very nice, will be back to try the ribs
Coming from America I can appreciate a good American style meal. The chicken and waffles were amazing. Seasoned just right. The service was a bit slow but other than that we loved it
Food was absolutely amazing! I had the fried snapper with rice n less and plantain.. It had lot s of other extras like papaya which was a great addition, potatoes, salad fried yam.. It's so nice to have an authentic Caribbean restaurant owned by ACTUAL Caribbeans where the chefs are ACTUALLY Caribbean unlike restaurants like turtle bay. Wish I could have had the curried lobster which was my initial order but I was told it would take 1 hour to make. Disappointing, but that goes to show the love and preparation that goes into their food.
However, I will say that the service is fairly poor in comparison to other restaurants in general but they sure do make up for it with the food.
Been here 3 times as its very close to my home and therefore accessible. The 3 times i visited were for lunch midweek, Saturday evening dinner with my partner and lastly for Sunday lunch.
On all 3 occasions we ordered items they didn't have (jerk pork, sweet potato fries and skin on fries)
The waitress that served us (approx 21yr old white waitress) was very nice and apologetic about the unavailability of food whereas other waitresses were unprofessional telling us about bad experiences other customers had had that night but didn't offer a resolve. On the evening with my partner we ordered sweet potato fries as a side to bulk out his meal but were only informed when his meal arrived that they had none which if we had known at the time of ordering then we would have ordered a different dish. At the same time as my partner's meal arriving my my side order of onion rings arrived cold and my main meal then took a further 25 minutes to arrive which meant my partner had finished his meal by the time my meal arrived. I sent back the onion rings and never received them back again. At the end of the meal we had not been offered any apologies or any resolve so it was up to me to ask for it to be reflected in The Bill. The bill arrived and had the sweet potato fries and onion rings still on it so we reported it to the waitress . I spoke with the manager who wasn't entirely forthcoming or amiable and and informed him of the problems we had occurred and how I felt that one of the waitresses was very unprofessional by disclosing the problems the other diners had had and complaining about the kitchen. He told me he had done the most that he could do with the bill to which I was very bemused as he had only taken off the sweet potato fries and onion rings that we had never received! I had to tell him that the problems we had encountered plus the unacceptable waiting time for my meal should be reflected in the Bil. All in all we got a discount of £3.50!!!!!
