What a vibe. This is a really special restaurant fronting the buzzy Folkestone Harbour Arm. Service is exemplary and incredibly friendly. Great ambience, the kind of place you'll want to dress up, but unpretentious. Food is truly exceptional. We went for the cheese souffle and artichoke soup to start which were really delicious, followed by the market fish option of a huge seabass stuffed with herbs and served with a delicious buerre blanc. It's quite pricey, but feels very reasonable for the quality - definitely a special place to dine, would heartily recommend.

Starters were fine. For mains my partner and I chose the catch of the day, sea bass at a very reasonable £65. We waited over an hour and when it arrived it was raw in places. We didn't touch it and sent it back. We were charged for the starters & drinks, but the only offer for a ruined lunch was a voucher for a 'second chance' as the manager explained. To date the voucher has not arrived! I think 'Rocksalt' has had its day in the sun and is now very average...

For an expensive Sunday lunch it was inadequate. Meat was good, vegetables were minuscule but the best bit ! Yorkshire puddings we’re cold grey and tasted 2 days old …… left mine completely. Although service was attentive had to wait an hour to get any food. Table opposite same wait and had main course served straight as they cleared the starter away no pause in between. I chose this because of a special day wanted a treat but felt very let down.

Loving this spot even more now the menu is changing a little more often. Delighted with more vegetarian dishes. Fantastic cheese soufflé and truffle risotto on our last visit. Also pleased to see a vegan cauliflower option in the mix. Glorious deserts as always.

This is an excellent restaurant with excellent food. It's expensive, but it's not really the place for those seeking a deal. For us it would be a once in every couple of months affair, you know, when you need to be spoilt.

No obvious manager nor staff skills.The wrong starter was served to me. Local Kent wines were disappointing, seating uncomfortable and cramped. Fish mains took ages to be served and were not very warm, but excellent fish. Service was sloppy, needed to have wedges under table leg, difficult to attract staff to get the bill, very poor assistance to get a taxi, no one fetched our Coates we went into the cloakroom area and took them ourselves. We had another booking for two nights time but canceled.

Our overall experience was very nice. Food lovely. Not given a 5 star on everything as our waiter looked a bit shabby and could have been better dressed in a resting of that level and the maitre de did not give us too much confidence in experience

This is now my favourite restaurant in the whole of the South East! We had a truly outstanding meal - I couldn’t fault a single thing but was just full of praise from start to finish!

We're disappointed , the steak was inedible. The starters were excellent. Upstairs for pre drinks the music was so loud we couldn't talk to one another. Care and attention was good. Restaurant recommended, but wouldn't necessarily attend again. Sorry to say as I was really looking forward to a special night out

Food as usual was outstanding and worth the high prices to experience a special occasion. Service again outstanding and super helpful personable waiter/waitresses. Evening spoilt by noisy group of young women yelling at each other.Fortunately they arrived towards end of our meal but others were not so fortunate. We feel for the money we would be very disappointed to experience this throughout the meal and would have second thoughts about returning due to this.

Really great lunch with the kids. They really looked after the little ones and the kids menu was fantastic and the same great quality as the adults menu. All the food we had was fantastic, the mussels were super fresh and plump and my skate wing was exceptional. Would love to come back soon.

Not very busy, plenty of staff. Struggled to get attention, I don't need to be saying 'excuse me' for service. Its expensive, my lemon sole was firm meat yet pink/red bone - taste OK but the meat should crumble off the bone. £154 for lunch with just a couple of glasses of fizz. Yes view saves the place and I judged the wait staff meant well but heads up, look around, don't leave finished plates on table for an age, be attentive. Not returning for awhile.

The location is fantastic overlooking the harbour and the food was excellent from start to finish. The wine was particularly good and the service was first rate and unobtrusive. This restaurant should be packed every night but on a Tuesday evening it was very quiet which meant the atmosphere was rather muted. We would return at the drop of a hat and would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone

We enjoyed cocktails in the bar and then had a lovely family meal for our celebration. Everything was beautifully cooked and looked great. There was a poor choice for the vegan in the group but there was something for him. And it is a fish restaurant!
