Rofuto was great, great food, great server, great decor and vibe! Only have a few things I thought could have been better, the receptionist of Rofuto wasn't very welcoming, he seemed shut off and had the cba mood. Sloppy welcome and disengaged when he showed us our table. Also the parking wasn't made clear, though we had to pay for parking, but after paying for it the receptionist at park Regis when we went in said its complimentary. But nowhere at the car park says it's free parking for guest for park Regis or if you are dining in any of the restaurants such as Rofuto. Wasted money and didn't get it back
Very large spacious restaurant. I liked the music and atmosphere. Food was lovely and we were all very content afterwards.
Was not very full on the night we went. Although quite a few staff working, quite a delay and difficult getting anyone’s attention. They seemed quite busy chatting at the bar, not really seeing to the diners.
Sorry to hear they are closing though.
Overall had a lovely dining experience only thing let it down I think was the time of year we went December it seems all the waiting staff put their attention onto the big tables of Christmas parties and forget about the couples as we felt neglected and no smile from our waiter forgot the basics like water and didn't ask how our meal was didn't ask if we wanted more drinks and didn't offer us dessert unless we said. A shame as food was wonderful.
As with other reviews the service was slow. Our waiter got the drinks wrong multiple times and gave off the impression he couldn’t be bothered to be there, he also forgot to give us the dipping sauces which came with the meal, these arrived after we had finished....The place is gorgeous but the food was average at best and arrived lukewarm which was disappointing given the price.
the light is too dark
Top quality food. The Thai monkfish has to be one of the finest dishes I have ever tasted in my life, and I lived with a Thai cook for 6 years!
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is lively but at the same time you don't feel on show and under scrutiny of other diners.
I went to celebrate my 40th with a couple of close friends and it really delivered a memorable experience.
The only thing which struck is as a little odd was that we didn't see one East Asian member of staff throughout the entire night, which subtracted from the authenticity.
Would recommend Rofuto in a heartbeat to anyone looking for something different, or just for some great food and service.
Our second visit after a fantastic first time.
Sadly, it was a little disappointing this time around. The menu has been expanded and now it seems rather than doing a small selection very well, they offer a bigger selection of hit and miss dishes.
Service was also hit and miss. We ordered two sushi dishes that never arrived. We pointed this out but they still appeared on the bill. We ordered a couple of items from the "nibbles" section of the menu but these didn't arrive until we were midway through our meals.
Such a pity as we'd previously been really impressed with the place.
We were a party of four with one vegan and one vegetarian and the service could not have been better or more helpful with menu explanations, discussion and help with changes to dishes. Made for a great evening and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
Our return to Rofuto was good, although a little less so than previously. This as although we were asked by the waitress how we wanted our food, which was a selection of small plates between four of us, we thought this related to what order the dishes came to us, this wasn't the case! Unfortunately everything came out all together, which resulted in the inevitable, that the food you were trying after the first two or three plates was warm at best. What we were expecting and which we think would have been far better, is to have a couple of plates at a time, allowing you to take our time and then receive hot food at reasonable intervals.
Having said this, we would certainly return and recommend Rofuto to anyone that has not been before. Also if you want some atmosphere, then maybe go a little later than we did, which was a 5.00pm booking, even though it was a Friday, it was still a little on the quite side.
Staff very average.
Food very average
This restaurant was enjoyable to visit. Loved the views from where we were seated. I look forward to visiting again very soon
Great ambiance at restaurant and bar . Service as we arrived was excellent , but afterwards was slow as the evening became busy . The food was good , but not outstanding ( I expected better given the prices ) .
Lovely Japanese food, excellent range of cocktails, service a bit slow.
Again a great experience. I like this kind of "non traditional" Japanese food
Location is wonderful
Great location and views from table. Service was excellent and nothing was to much trouble. Food was enjoyable but nothing outstanding - a little pricey perhaps, for the quality of dishes. Overall an enjoyable evening. If your happy to pay the high prices then its worth a visit for the experience. The desserts were very good+
Very good food we all liked the Sushi. Thank you for making our birthdays special.
Fantastic night, wedding anniversary meal and the staff made it very special.
Wanted something special and different - it didn't disappoint!
We came for our anniversary - it was a lovely restaurant and great atmosphere! As we are vegetarian, upon arrival we were presented with a vegan menu on top of the normal menu - which was very considerate. Customer service was very good and the food was lovely!! Would highly recommend Rofuto for the food choice, ambience and views!
fab views atop par regis.
superb service from a lady sorry forgot her name but she had terrific eye make up
terrible music had to ask them to lower volume. they did a little who wants tecno playing whilst you eat...just calm serene music live or piped or none at all
The food was tasty and we enjoyed the views and the staff were friendly. We had to wait over half an hour for our cocktails which was frustrating as we specifically got to the restaurant early to have a pre drink. We would come again as it was good value for money and it was nice to see different choices as opposed to standard food and drinks at similar restaurants
Lovely food and attentive service - would definitely recommend.
Loved the view from the sky bar. Unfortunately we were placed right in the back corner of the restaurant so didn't get to explore the bar area/rest of the restaurant as much as we would have liked. This was a bit annoying seeing as the restaurant was relatively empty. The food was lovely, we recommend the tempura platter and nigiri platter. The mains left us wanting something more though... small servings 'arty' food here for sure - but that was expected. The service, we are sorry to say was not so great. The waiter clearly didn't want to be there which makes customers feel in the way. Also the waiter assumed the guy would pick up the bill, a bit old fashioned. Dessert list was a bit boring to be honest. Glad we went and experienced some authentic Japanese dishes, a bit pricey considering how small the dishes are. Wish we'd asked to be moved to a more central table.
Great food and good service. Only downside is they don't have an extensive sushi selection.
Stunning food in a gorgeous venue. We left the selection to Matthew our waiter who nailed the service. Seriously good food
Got to restaurant was told that there no booking in my name, showed gentle man email confirming book went of to see if there any table, left us near the bar after 20 minutes managed to find us a table. Didnt say sorry,
Our foods was great wine was off had to send it back and choose a different wine,
Overall great night
On arriving at Rofuto, the staff downstairs were very welcoming and showed us into the lifts. As we approached the 16th floor, upon reaching the host table, there was nobody present and the lights were right in our line of vision, so was a bit like being interrogated. We were a few minutes early so the greeter suggested we go to the bar...where we had to wait quite a while to get served, only then to be told the cocktail had run out - which meant my boyfriend had to come back to me and therefore lost his place in the queue. Once we were seated, the server was mainly good - there were a few occasions we were waiting for a long time between courses and nobody asked us how our meal was and we had to attract attention to get another drink. It was a lot more noisy up there than I had imagined and we struggled to hear each other. My review is that it was restaurant pricing but in a bar setting. Although nice, I would not go again for food as it was too noisy. All that considered, food was good - but nothing outstanding for us.
Sadly I was pre warned that the service was poor and not worth a visit! However I ignored! The wine I picked they didn't have available, the cocktail I picked they didn't have all the ingredients. I picked another cocktail which quite frankly was disappointing! Explained I wasn't happy and the manager who was quite frankly confrontational and unprofessional basically told me I didn't know how my cocktail should taste! Food was okay but nothing to rush back for! The bill took three attempts for them to get right. On a positive note the view is superb and our waitress despite looking quite embarrassed by her managers awful approach to rectify anything was extremely hard working and doing her best. I think it's easy to say we won't be returning
Fabulous service . Great effort taken by our waiting staff to explain the menu and dishes when they were served at our table.
Food delicious with amazing presentation.
An expensive evening but thoroughly enjoyable , we felt that it was a treat and one that we would like to repeat .
Plenty of space in the dinning room we didn't even notice our neighbours !!!
I liked the atmosphere and ambience of the place however the food was a let down. One dish came out not very warm and the portions weren't as big as advised. In particular, the desserts were a waste. Bland and overpriced. Ok as a one off. Informed management and advised they'll let the chef know. Big deal
Lovely views of the city and a great atmosphere. Service and staff were fabulous and couldn't be more helpful.
The down side is how overpriced the food is for what it is, sorry to say you can get sushi/Japanese food elsewhere that tastes just as good but for a lot less.
What I did like is the range of mocktails on offer, there is not usually such a selection of non alcoholic drinks in restaurants.
Really good although expensive Japanese food was slightly blighted by generally poor service on the evening. 25 minute wait for original table, then moved to another table next to a pillar because the previous diners were chatting! Bar staff unnatentive and uninterested although eventually they made me a great UME cocktail which was very nice . Waiter was nice enough but drinks hadn't even come out by the time our entrée arrived. All a bit disorganised and stretched in terms of staff in my opinion. They need to add a few people to the team to provide a more attentive service that the current prices should easily demand.
What came out of the kitchen was much better, highlights were the Black cod, cherry salmon and crispy squid.
Great venue . Starters abs service amazing . Delicious wine. Main courses very small for the price and under seasoned . Would come back again though
the view was amazing however the food was poor and not worth the price, the waitress was constantly busy and it was hard to get her attention.
Great night out service was second to non and I'll be going back with in a week just because !!!!
Food was nice but not outstanding and expensive for what you got.
Service was excellent and all staff were very friendly.
Cocktails nothing to write home about.
Didn't really have any complaints but it wasn't the dining experience I had expected, maybe my expectations were a little high.
we enjoed the food. Service was super fast and staff very friendly and also professional with an eye for details. Happy and friendly. The food presentation was superb as well
Best sushi restaurant in England. Much better value than Nobu in London. The wagyu roll is the best thing I've ever eaten and the o-toro is always to die for.
Fantastic food and atmosphere, one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure of eating in. Absolutely superb!
The food at Rofuto was nice - the sushi was fine - the Chef's special selection was no more impressive than what is on offer at Yo sushi, but for a rather larger price. There were cuts across the meat of the fish - we were unsure about how authentic this is. Neither myself nor my fiance are fluent in Japanese but the drinks menu said "to eat" on it in Kanji and the food menu says "sip". The selection of bar snacks were delicious and similar to what we experienced in Japan. The rice portion that we ordered was (whilst again not necessarily authentic) very flavourful. We also ordered a dish called "Japanese woods" which was a combination of delicious marinaded eel, with sweet textures of salsify on something which was supposed to represent bark and some real lichen. We were unsure about whether this was edible because it was unpleasantly bitter. The bark was also bitter and the balance of flavours was unfortunately towards the bitter side of the spectrum. We could not eat the lichen, but the waiter made a comment about it being left on the plate. The presentation was beautiful however. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice but it was unfortunate that the best views from the "Loft" were reserved for private parties in the "sky bar". If you want an up-market dining experience was a smaller price tag then this is a nice place to go for a meal. It might be better to shop around for authentic Japanese cuisine.
