ROKA Charlotte Street & Shochu Lounge
Posso solo dire che al nostro prossimo passaggio a Londra sarà il primo ristorante che prenoteremo !!!!!
Excellent. The kids loved it too. Everything tasted sublime.
Birthday. Put this on the booking but nothing was mentioned of it
I wouldn’t really expect anything.
We sat next to the windows and it was too drafty as the fold out doors don’t link together.
£90 per person for the tasting menu is far to high when they give you one piece of fish between 3 as the ‘main’ with no rice or vegetables.
This is consistently a wonderful place to eat. It is pricey, but mostly worth it. I have been going here since it first opened. I don't bother ordering sushi/sashimi type things as one can get that elsewhere. There specialities and robata foods are superb. The only thing not to my liking is the noise level. It makes having a conversation with friends prohibitive.
Food while expensive, was pretty good. Good selection and fresh sushi
I've been here three years ago and the food (tasting menu) was amazing. We orderd tasting menu this time but it's just fair.
busy place with nice service, food is good but expensive
Great service !!
I would not go to Roka or recommend it to my friends . The food was tasteless and we ordered lots of varied dishes and could say that we did not enjoy a single dish, not worth the money or experience. I would definitely not go again
Great quality food, good list of drinks and good and friendly service
Roka remains one of London’s best places to eat Japanese food. It also serves excellent wines by the glass - but order promptly because wine service is very slow. It’s not as busy as it used to be and service is patchy as you don’t get a dedicated wait-person but the food makes up for Everything
We had an amazing time at ROKA. We celebrated my birthday with the tasting menu and it was delicious! It takes you to a point where you are perfectly full. The service was amazing, our waiter knew exactly what we need, he was very professional and we had a chance to bond with him.
Roka is one of my Favourite restaurants. Such tasty and well presented food.
The tempura is to die for. Lots of variety too
Service was exceptional and food was cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and ambiance.
Maybe I was expecting more sushi, maybe the bill was just too much (£90 each with no expensive dish and one bottle of white wine), but it didn’t meet my quality-price expectations. Atmosphere is too casual and service a bit rushed. Sake-no-Hana and Akira are far better choices.
As ever the food in the Shochu Lounge was delicious but considering we only had one Kirin beer, £75 a head was a LOT! Roka is not cheap. However, it is a wonderful setting. Be prepared to drop a lot of cash and you'll be fine...if not be very selective with the menu!
Loved it!!the food was incredible everything we ordered was so yummy and the soft shell crab one of the best things I’ve tasted!
The only downside was the waiter who for some reason noticeably cooled as the meal went on
Started off soo helpful and welcoming and then he really wasn’t happy by the end.. must’ve upset him somehow.
Must’ve learnt his skills in Rome
Anyway I still enjoyed it and will definitely be back
Thank you Roka
Outstanding food and service.
Our waitress Sara was so helpful and friendly, but also very quick. She really reflected the overall attention to quality service.
But great though the service is, the real shining star is the food itself. It has a genuinely unique and modern twist that separates it from anything we’ve had before. The sea bream simply melted in the mouth and was an absolute highlight. There wasn’t one dish that didn’t deliver on flavour and style.
It’s expensive, but certainly worth it. The wine list is probably the only element I would say is not value for money, but the cocktails proved to be better value and pretty well made.
Had a great meal here with friends, lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
The food was exceptional as usual. We didn’t get the ribs (which are to die for) but tried the chicken instead and it was totally worth it.
The food is fresh, full of flavour and overall amazing.
El lugar muy agradable, un servicio excelente y la calidad de la comida mis respetos. De lo mejor qué hay.
Es precio calidad
I love this place! Of all the restaurants I’ve visited all over the world this is my overall favourite. A great allrounder. Be sure to give it a visit, especially if you love Japanese fusion food.
Absolutely fantastic! We were looked after by a brilliant man called Leboy (almost certainly not the correct spelling). He made our meal magical and gave great advice on the menu. Can’t wait to go back.
The sushi is really good but even for London a bit overpriced. Service felt a bit pushy.
Awesome food and service
My husband and I ordered the 15 year anniversary taster menu and we weren’t disappointed. We got to try dishes we never would have ordered and every course was wonderful!
Overall we had a lovely evening and we will definitely go back soon!
Very nice restaurant with greatfood but a bit show off and a bit pricy for (certain) very small portions (eg. scallop skewer contains one scallop only...)
Food and service was great, recommend the tasting menu, a must for sushi lovers!
Great design and architecture.
Very friendly, helpful and professional staff.
Very clean and inviting look.
Top floor looks a little “clinical” and cold but downstairs is very warm and romantic.
Service is quick, friendly and always with a smile.
Food was and drinks range is varied and should allow for everyone’s taste.
Tables are rather tight to get into and out off.
Amazing staff that create a great evening from the beginning, food was fantastic and the decor is stunning. Definitely coming back soon
Always great fun
Intimate setting, cherry blossoms were beautiful, food was amazing and excellent service.
Roka is one of favourite places in London. The food is always excellent with top quality, fresh ingredients and delicious, creative flavours. The service is efficient and friendly. It has a buzzy atmosphere.
Food was absolutely amazing & service was incredible!
It was alright. But nothing to write home about. Better Sushi elsewhere (including other ROKA's).
Fantastic food, great location and enjoyable ambiance. We had the taster menu with the supplemental wagyu beef and everything was delicious. I have to say, I thoroughly recommend the supplemental! Their wine selection is brilliant. The desert was a combination of exotic fruit with sweets that was just excellent. The meal is well balanced, tastes were all unique and presentation was very nice. Makes you feel you are having a special meal. They are very good at catering to allergies and food restrictions substituting dishes for delicious alternatives. It was my wife and my birthday celebration and the nice touch of a champagne glass was much appreciated. When you finish a meal like this you ask yourself what could have been better ... the answer is very little, so whatever comes next is just purely constructive and by no means intended as a criticism ... at some points the flow of information between waiters required some improvement, this resulted in a dish being brought to us and then taken away and then brought to us again ... when a meal is almost flawless you notice these things!
Amazing service from beginning to the end. I was slightly early and was shown the bar downstairs, the bar man was friendly and kept me company as my date was late.
I’m happy I chose Roka Charlotte street for our first date. The ambience was perfect and our server (Chinese lady with short hair was superb in animating our date and her knowledge and recommendations were greatly appreciated)
Thank you Roka Team.
