Rolf and Daughters serves seasonal New American cooking in Germantown, inside Nashville's historic Werthan factory. Chef and owner Philip Krajeck describes it as modern peasant food: shareable plates built on house made pasta, house baked bread, wood fired cooking, and vegetables from regional farms. The bar keeps an evolving natural wine list alongside house cocktails, and communal tables sit beside the dining room and bar. Dinner nightly from 5pm. Reservations are taken for the dining room, communal tables, and bar, and a few bar seats are held each night for walk ins. Open since late 2012. Did not like the food at all. Everything was odd tasting and we got the Campanella which was very disappointing. Chicken was decent. Didn’t have drinks or desserts that would be expected in a restaurant of this caliber. Food was definitely not worth the cost. I would not eat here again.

Had an amazing birthday dinner for my husband here. We had the melon appetizer and two pasta dishes, followed by the chocolate sorbet. All were incredible and my husband cannot stop talking about the pasta!

Violetta the host was amazing. The food was delicious. I’ve always had Ksenia as a server every time I’ve gone and she’s the most outstanding server I’ve ever come across. She wasn’t there last night. The server did great but I’ve gotten accustomed to the best

I thought the food was outstanding. Simple, not pretentious, and cooked perfectly. The vibes of the restaurant itself were cozy and welcoming, and the music was a perfect noise level. Great wine list too

UPDATED 9/16/26: After a sincere conversation with the Director of Ops, we are amending our review to reflect the restaurant’s response and genuine concern for all diners with food allergies. They’ve updated their allergy protocol procedures. This is an example of why we’ve always had the upmost respect for this restaurant group. We are looking forward to returning soon. The only reason this review is not all five stars, which it always has been for us, 100% of the time is unfortunately, after the most wonderful dinner, we were notified that the dessert that was served to the person with a nut allergy did in fact have nuts on it. That diner had finished the dessert at this point. We had to leave quickly in order to follow our allergic reaction protocols. We reached out later that evening and the next morning via email to the manager to continue the discussion of how this was handled. However, we are two days in and have not heard anything. Disappointing.

I think your wine pour and what you charge is out of balance. I asked for a separate table and was convinced by your hostess that I did not and sat at a communal table. Fish the smallest portion size I have ever seen. Would not recommend.

It was great eating at Rolf & D again- our friend who lived a year in Italy said last night’s was the best pasta she ever had. Everything from food to cocktails to server’s talent was truly wonderful. With Rolf and Folk I struggle to see the need for Junior- the first two are so much better and so much more local feeling- that’s not to say everything about Junior isn’t impeccable- I just see no need for impeccable.
