Romano's Macaroni Grill - S. Arlington
Staff all wearing masks, EXCEPT the manager and she was delivering food. Server was great. There were only 3 parties in the restaurant.
We have celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant the last 2 years. Good food, good service and a relaxed atmosphere.
Was a very Wonderful experience visiting the macaroni grill.
Great food great service appreciated our business during this crazy time
the food was great we celebrated valentine's there on saturday Had the valentines special it was great. Great place for italian food at its finest.
This place never disapppoints. Love their food and the atmosphere. Service is always great!! My favorite Italian restaurant!!!
Stay away on holidays like Valentine's Day. Amazingly overbooked. Show up at 7:10 pm for a 7:15 only to sit at the bar for over 45 minutes. The lady checking off the names when checking in had heard so many complaints, she too was openly critical with her comments to coworkers without a whisper. An awful night all the way around. Leaving at 9:30, people were still stacked up and complaining.
Awesome service for such a busy night!
Valentines at 6:45. Pack with every table full and a line all the way to the door. Very understaffed. Took forever to get waited on and the same for the food. When we did get the food it was cold.
Restaurant was not able to handle the level of business. Will not come back on a busy day.
Food was overcooked, service was slow and way off the norm. Waited 20 minutes to be seated for my reservation. On the positive side I am glad to see them have this much business. The chain seemed to be failing from prior visits
Service was very slow, had to wait 30 minutes for a bread & glass of wine. Waited another 30 minutes for food. Another 30 minutes for the check. Just not enough service members for a major holiday.
I had to leave early because of unfortunate reasons but this was a very fine restaurant. Very nice for special occasions. Food was timely prepared and delicious. My server was attentive and kind. I was given crayons and allowed to draw/write on my table, which is very unique. This was a nice touch for me and my wife because we enjoyed drawing and professing our love with crayons.
Took 2 hours to for an appetizer, two entrees and desert. Server must have been new. She would ask if we needed anything but never brought it. For example we ordered tiramisu. When she brought it we asked for spoons. After 10 minutes, I got them myself. Knowing this was Valentines day doesn't justify this level of service.
The food was good. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant had a table ready for us since we made reservations. Overall we had an excellent time there.
Our waiter was wonderful, she was very attentive. Food & drinks were great with the exception of the tomato basil soup- it was terrible & we sent it back.
Monthly Couple’s Dinner Club
Everything was delicious! The staff, including the friendly bar tender, and the servers, were very professional, attentive, and efficient.
We will return.
Our reservation was for 5:30. We arrived about 5:20 and the staff got our table set up in no time at all. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She was also very accommodating to one member of our party who, after ordering a glass of wine, decided she didn’t like it and gladly brought her something else. She kept us informed about the progress of our order. When she asked about dessert, we told her we had brought a cake in and had given it to the hostess upon arrival. She brought out the cake, plates, forks and a knife. When we have her a piece of cake as well, she was very grateful and so sweet. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
We went for the New Year menu and were impressed. Everything was close to perfect. The food was delicious, at the right temperature, our waitress, Helena did a great job.
Food and service okay...
All of their seafood is farm raised & that’s so unhealthy. No organic selections. Bellinis were amazing!
We had reservations. We were sat an hour and a half after our time we had Reserved. After we ordered we were informed that they no longer had some of the food. When we received our main entrées two entrées were no longer brought to the table because I had run out in the middle and they never brought salads and soups and forgot to tell us they were out of those as well. They were also out of Chitos vodka. I heard the manager say that a lot of people were turned away because of how many reservations I had so it should’ve been better planning for food and drinks.
We used to live in Arlington for years and Romano’s was one of our favorites. It took us 1 hr. 45 minutes to have dinner. The waitress kept apologizing and frankly needs some training. Lobster ravioli had a different sauce more like Alfredo and I didn’t like it. My wife had chicken Parmesan and they served a noodle w/spinach instead of orzo pasta and she didn’t like it. Overall slow service, bad food and still cost us $100. So sad. Used to be a classy Italian restaurant. Probably won’t go back. Sorry.
Our waitress did not appear to be in a good mood. She didn’t get back to us for refills and some basics. I think the restraunt was probably understaffed for being holiday. Everything else was find, but it was a little disappointing to have such an unhappy waitress.
Worst experience ever at this Macaroni Grill. Had a Christmas Day reservation. We were seated on time, however the waitress was very slow taking our order. Our salads were never served. 45 minutes after we ordered the entrees were brought out cold. We were asked three times if we wanted more bread, and three times it was not served. The manager came to the table and proudly announced he would not charge us for the salads we never got. We were given discount coupons for our next (unlikely) visit. The staff just seemed completely overwhelmed by having customers.
They over sat our waiter and the service lacked terribly. I understand it being Christmas Day, the server was not happy and was overwhelmed by his section.
Been a while since we’ve dined at Macaroni. Now I remember why. Food was not good not a big deal. Restaurant not too busy when we arrived at 6. I ordered an appetizer, which took 40 minutes to come. We reminded server, he came back & blamed the kitchen. Pretty sure he just forgot. Long stretches when server was not around. Food finally came. Some was ok. Salmon & Mahi not very good. Couple of pasta dishes had little flavor. House wine was wretched. Took almost 2 hours. Really poor experience.
4of us for lunch. 3of4 meals were great.
I ordered pollo caprisio .
First grilled chicken breast was tuff as the sole of my shoe
Over done over cooked tasteless
Set it back -2nd one was a little better
Still not up to quality I expect from macaroni grill.
Are these bought in a pre cooked box and “re grilled”?
It tasted like a precooked micro wave boxed chicken breast.
I coulda bought that for 75 cents at Walmart
I’ll try Mac grill one more time & never order that entree again
If it’s as bad next time- I’m done with mac grill.
Food is always great, Lobster Bisque soup is really good. Our waiter wasn't the best that particular night and cleared the table in a hurry with our son's hand made ornament he had left for just a moment. I had the Shrimp Scampi, and even my 7 year old was trying to gobble it up. Great bread too!
We've been to this restaurant many times over the years, but not in at least three years. So it was a shock to go on a Friday night and find the place almost empty. I soon found out why. Our server arrived promptly and took our drink orders, and several minutes passed before our server came back and told me that the liquor I wanted was not in stock, so I gave her an alternate selection. While we waited for our drinks, everybody took their silverware out and realized that the silverware was not just water-spotted, some of it had food stuck to it. Between the four of us, we sent back two forks and two knives. We received water-spotted, but cleaner replacements. After a long wait, my fellow diners received their wine, but no mixed drink for me. Our server took our orders, and then returned with my drink. Almost all of the ice had already melted, telling me it had been sitting at the bar for a while. Again, this place was deserted, so why the service was slow, I have no idea. We received a nice loaf of bread, but no bread knife, so we were reduced to using our table knives to try to carve it up. I received my salad and my fellow diners received their soups. The two Italian Vegetable Soups were basically at room temperature, and the Tomato Basil Soup was warm. They didn't complain. When the entrees came, my Penne Rustica was very hot, but it was obvious that it had been microwaved. One fellow diner had Lasagna that was cold, so sent it back to be microwaved. The Salmon with Asparagus was warm, and the Chicken Marsala was warm, but they didn't complain. Everyone agreed that the flavors of their entrees were just okay. We finished, got our checks, paid, and left. I'm sorry to say I will not go back, unless I learn that the management has changed or done something to revive what used to be a really good restaurant.
Food is always delicious but service is lacking. Our waitress had several tables and there were only two servers there on a Saturday night. It took forever to get our food but it was very good...not to put blame on server or the kitchen. Will go back cause it is that good!!!! Maybe management will hire more servers!!!
Food pretty substandard. Ran out of mashed potatoes at 7:30 on a Friday night. Chicken Marshall flavor not great and they actually forgot the mushrooms - that’s second only to forgetting the chicken. Nice server however.
I had booked the S. Arlington location for Thanksgiving dinner. Our reservation was at 7 pm, however, there wasn’t a Thanksgiving meal offered. That’s why I booked this restaurant. We were returning from out of town & it was advertised they were serving Thanksgiving food.
Also, they were out of mashed potatoes and two soups when we ordered our food. Our waiter said they were out of those choices because they had been so busy on Thanksgiving. We ordered Italian which was good, other than my daughter & I sent ours back to be reheated.
Made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. Arrived 15 minutes early and checked in. As we were seated told they were out of Thanksgiving menu ( ran out at 2 o'clock). Reservation was at 4, they should have sent email or at least told me when I checked in. Bad business.
Celebrated Thanksgiving with my daughters. We were disappointed that they ran out of the thanksgiving menu items though.
Seating staff totally did not know what they were doing. We had 2:00 pm reservations, got there at 1:50. Was not seated until round 2:50. People came in after us with 4 people and NO reservations seated before us. We are regulars at this location (dine in and carry out) and very disappointed. . Manager didnt seem to have a handle on seating and food. Waiter was great though. This was our third Thanksgiving at this store but will try Cracker Barrell next year.
We did Thanksgiving at the restaurant and it was definitely more crowded than last year. Our server, Sarah, was AMAZING! The food was delicious as always.
This was the perfect choice for our Thanksgiving lunch! You could choose between the regular Italian menu or a traditional Thanksgiving meal. We all chose to order Italian. It was delicious. The wine was good. Service was good. It wasn't too crowded and making a reservation made it so easy. This will definitely be our new Thanksgiving place!
Good Service BAD Food Bad management...took over 1 hour to get Cold wrong Food order.
My mother, who is in her 80's, ordered the porkchop and she could hardly cut it let alone eat it. It was very tough. The waiter told us when we asked to send it back that it was normally a tough cut of meat. Would have been nice to know that before ordering. Other than that the meal was great and the service was superb.
We had not been to Macaroni Grill in years. We really enjoyed the food and service. The only “miss” was the quality of the bread.
