Roots is one of our very favorite date night restaurants!
Went for my wife’s birthday. Food and service was wonderful! Very unique drink offering.
The restaurant was stunning and rustic inside. The hostess took our temperatures. The server was friendly and offered suggestions. Now, for the menu -- it offered a significant amount of diversity. As a party of four, we covered quite a bit, tasting lamb, duck, and pork. It was all amazing -- this is definitely a hidden gem in Jonesboro.
My wife and I had such a remarkable experience at Roots. Our expectations were high to begin with, and these were surpassed thanks in large part to Kaylee, who served us and offered astute input about the drinks and dishes served during our visit.
The new fall menu does not disappoint! I especially recommend the new drink Pera and the pumpkin salad. Pera is slightly spicy and smooth, making it just right for cooler temps. The pumpkin salad is filled with so many flavors and textures. I couldn't get enough and thought about ordering a second. Our entrees were just as good and you can't go wrong with Meli's Bananas to finish your evening.
Food quality and flavor was amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Unique decor in historic downtown location .
Really great food, awesome presentation but even better taste!! Waiter was great!!
Amazing food and drinks! We love going here and trying the new foods on their menu!
Possibly one of the best meals from start to finish that I’ve ever had!! Our server was incredible and so knowledgeable about the menu which was greatly appreciated since it was our first visit! From my cocktail to dessert everything we ordered was phenomenal! We can’t wait to come back and try the fall menu!!
Once again, Roots absolutely smashed it. We attended the First anniversary tasting menu dinner. Everthing was outstanding per usual. Each course was a flavor bomb that left you wanting more, and the wine pairings with each course was well thought out. I would have thoroughly enjoyed a meal with any of the courses individually, but combined it was a dinner to remember. Karl and Paula, the chefs, are amazing. Keep rocking the awesome food!
We eat here often and love it every time. Food, Drinks and Atmosphere Nail It!
The food was absolutely delicious. The limited menu had me a little nervous, but I am so glad we gave it a shot anyway. The service was impeccable, the drinks were tasty. I’ll definitely be back!
Great food. Amazing whiskey selection. Good service. I recommend.
Excellent service, unique delicious menu, and perfectly crafted cocktails. We definitely will be back.
I took my granddaughters out for our weekly dinner to a place they hadn’t visited. Everything was excellent from service to food! The food was exceptional and the service was impeccable!
Roots was a hit with the girls and I’m sure we will visit soon!
Always a fantastic time at Roots. Truly a cut above any other restaurant in Jonesboro. The seasonal menu is fun to explore. No one makes a better old fashioned!
Started out with the deviled eggs appetizers absolutely heavenly.
Main course for my baby was the swordfish and simply a very pleasant eating experience for all involved bc she shares! Viola!!
My main course was the Carlito’s Way, carmelized onions were fabulous setting off the taste explosion that carried over into the brioche bun. Amazing food and simply the best in Jonesboogie.
Hats off to the chef.
The wife and I wanted something special for date night, and we weren't disappointed. First, I'd like to say that we're foodies. We love trying new cuisine, annd cooking styles.
We started with the Empanadas (seasonal) and the Hogs and Hominy. Both were absolutely exceptional. Before this, the wife and I would have told you we hated hominy, but we've received an education. The wife had the Hornado (pork leg). The pork was just a touch dry, but was absolutely full of flavor. I had the ribeye. This was a really fantastic steak. Perfectly cooked, generously seasoned. It was darn near cuttable with a fork.
We shared a dessert with peanut butter ice cream and banana with chocolate. It was good -- but we didn't feel it was as much of a shining star as the other items we tried.
The service was really amazing. The waitstaff was there when we needed them, friendly, helpful, but not overbearing. Chef came out and talked to us about the menu, the style of cooking, and ingredients.
The restaurant did get a bit noisier as we dined and they got busier. I mean, it's an old building with brick walls, and high ceilings -- the acoustics aren't going to be great. But, nothing that detracted from our experience.
In the end, we love Roots. We plan to be back often, and can't wait to see what the next seasonal menu brings.
Food is absolutely phenomenal and the drinks are just as grand. Lovely place for an intimate dinner or a group gathering. 100% our new date night go-to.
My friend and I had recently been to Roots on a weekend night to just have cocktails and desserts. That was all we could do to get a seat. We couldn’t secure a weekend dinner reservation both due to the limited seating caused by the COVID-19 chaos and also because of the apparent demand just to get a table.
During the middle of the week, we were able to get a reservation and wow... were we happy that we did! My friend ordered the Smoked Cariucho (chicken) and I had the Churrasco Ribeye. We’ve eaten in a lot of wonderful places but both of these dishes rival most anything we’ve had prepared elsewhere. The savory flavors were unique and perfectly spot on - not too bold yet not too subtle. In summary, we were both thrilled to find such an epicurean delight in Jonesboro. We will be back and soon!
Very good experience at Roots. Food was fantastic, probably one of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had. Everything from apps to dessert was fantastic. Go with an open mind and embrace the different but very good mix of flavors. Strongly recommend for a date night or intimate dinner type meal.
My favorite place to eat. Absolutely fantastic! Karl and Paula are very talented chefs.
Kevin was fabulous! Food was beyond belief. Chefs were personal and attentive. Definitely going back soon.
Excellent ambiance and service. The cuisine was creative and beautifully plated. Staff was friendly and the chef very professional and welcoming. Great experience!!!
Ambiance was great. Shrimp fritters were amazing. Meal was presented well, but was disappointed in taste. Our waitress Kaylee was very attentive, friendly, and informative.
Wonderful! The ceviche was our favorite of the items we had! Ribeye was also good!
We absolutely LOVED our experience at Roots. The food was by far the best meal I have ever had in Jonesboro. We really enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the restaurant itself. The seating was comfortable. We did think the bass on the music was up unusually loud so at times it seemed unpleasant but the meal more than made up for this minor irritation. Our server was average but I have been before and had stellar service. I think the restaurant holds itself to standard of excellence. We had two different appetizers the tuna and the potato cakes which were generously portioned and expertly prepared not to mention beautifully served. Our table ordered three different entrees, the smoked chicken, pork chop and a steak. The steak was the most amazing steak I have ever seen plated, the chop looked more like a steak itself and the roast chicken was divine. All was flavored with rich engaging seasonings, the accompanying vegetables were fresh and well prepared and seasoned. We all had the lemon curd tart for dessert and found it exceeded expectations, a perfect finale to a most satisfying meal. I can't wait to return.
What a lovely meal! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the chef made great suggestions. A gem in Jonesboro!
We had an amazing date night. The food was fantastic and the staff were very nice and professional. We started planning our next visit before we left!
Took my friend who is JPD Officer to celebrate her birthday. Service was great. Food was outstanding!!
Roots is a MUST! Unique cuisine and always delicious. Great ambiance and wonderful service. It’s Jonesboro’s secret treasure!
We love Roots! Always a great experience. The food is exceptional!
Roots is always a wonderful time. From the food, to the drinks everything always is on point!
I truly appreciate the attention to detail and especially the creativity the team at Roots brings to the food and drink they serve. I love the unique flavors in their cocktails and dishes and that they change the menu frequently. The service has been very good and the staff well trained right from the start. I look forward to my next dining experience!
Wonderful location with great food. Put together nicely and in a festive manner. Well done.
The food was amazing!!! Our waiter was very attentive. It was a great experience!
Everything is excellent and creative
A breath of fresh air for NEA
Food is excellent and different! Things are a little pricey. I had steak which was great value for the price! But the duck ravioli was only 4-5 with no veggies. That seemed a lot for the price. Everyone had something different and the taste of everything was wonderful! We shared both desserts which were awesome too!
Our out of town guest said it was definitely worth the drive!
First brunch of 2020 was delicious! I recommend the ceviche and the chicken and waffles, both were excellent. If you like your bloody marys spicy, they know what that means. We will be back.
This was my second time eating at Roots! The ambience is very unique and the food is absolutely amazing! I had totally different things both times and all were delicious! Such a unique dining experience!
