Was greeted quickly at the door and seated right away, we did have reservations so I’m mot sure how long a walk in would take to be seated. The ambiance of the place was nice and the restrooms were pretty as well. The server came to our table as soon as we were settled with menus and water and checked back in a reasonable amount of time to take our order. The food and drinks came quickly and when ordering was given detailed information on the dishes my dining partner had inquired about. Dishes were cleared from the table quickly and when it came to ordering dessert, we were given good recommendations. Overall it was a good dining experience and I’d for sure come back and recommend it to anyone.
Service and ambience are fantastic but the food is just okay!
Yes, with conditions. I went with a friend who had a quinoa bowl and she got good value for her money. I was disappointed in my selection, however. The menu said root vegetables with mole sauce, which as a vegan, I thought I would enjoy. But the vegetables were one big red beet, almost on the verge of being undercooked, and three small pieces of yellow beet. It was SO one-dimensional, and not filliing. If the menu says vegetables (with an s), guests could be forgiven for thinking they're getting more than just one type of vegetable (no s) in two different colours. I feel your wine by the glass is expensive, and a cheaper option should be offered. Again, my friend got better value, because once she saw the price of the wine, she ordered a beer. I did select a red, and was surprised when it arrived, as it seemed like a very skimpy portion. I don't know if I would go back to Rosalinda, based on this visit, although I can appreciate that someone else might have a more positive experience. By the way, this is the third time I have tried to submit this review. It wasn't working on my phone, so I'm trying again on my laptop.
Service was a bit spotty - it wasn't that busy but our server wasn't attentive enough to when we wanted to order and when we needed things. When we ordered we requested everything to come all at the same time and she said "Really? Are you sure?" Yes, I'm sure, that's why I made the request. One drink was probably forgotten and brought much later.
I am a vegan that missed good food like served at this restaurant!
Rosalinda was DELICIOUS! The food was well presented, amazing cocktails, a well thought out diverse menu. Table space is great with more than sufficient room between diners. Good music. Awesome all round. We will definitely be back!
For the most part I enjoyed my eating experience at Rosalinda. I felt the price was high considering two of the dishes were made up mainly of chips. I would have appreciated the waitress pointing that out so we could have changed our food choice.
I went to Rosalinda this past Satuday with a few friends and it was delicious. We got appetizers, the broccolini, bowls and desserts. The broccolini was delicious with an aioli sauce, the chorizo and tofu bowls were delicious and flavourful, and our dessert was the Tres Leches Cake and it was amazing!! Our entrees were served the same time and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu items. Overall, it was a great experience with good quality vegan food that non-vegans liked!
Service delayed, inattentive. Excessive waiting during every aspect of meal.
Amazing service and wine selection! I want ti try all of the food they have.
While we did go in understanding this is a more upscale place, and did expect the prices of food and drinks to be higher; however, with those prices come higher expectations. The food was pretty good; however, when it came to the drinks, we ordered a couple of cocktails and wasn't too amused when the presentation was sub-par (they were served in regular semi long glasses with a simple straw). The flavor could have also been a bit better.
Service was pretty good when it was available and waitress was knowledgeable. Getting the waitress's attention at times was a bit difficult.
If you're going for the ambiance, totally worth it!
Extremely good in all categories. Will definitely be returning.
Certainly one of the top vegan restaurants in Toronto and the most creative. Deliciously prepared with an esthetic approach so it looks as fine as it tastes. Don’t miss the phenomenal tres leches cake with no lèche (milk). Our outstanding server who knew every ingredient in every dish recommended it. But also the eggplant and the tostados were terrific too. It doesn’t matter that it’s vegan; it scores high on any dining out experience. Noise level is also well managed. It was my second visit and we will return.
Rosalinda is a beautiful restaurant, service was good, our server was very knowledgeable. Pretty good beer selection. The food choices are interesting and it’s nice to have some vegan options of classic Mexican dishes, but the flavors weren’t the vibrant bold flavor you expect from Mexican cuisine.
I am GF and vegan. I would have been fine with the cost and long wait for service and food preparation had the food been okay; however, the food was absolutely terrible. A tremendous disappointment to me and my party.
A bit pricey for the portion size, and had to flag server down when we needed drinks or to place more food orders (we weren't sure of how much to order initially but were still hungry after starter and a couple tacos) - but overall the ambience was nice and the food was all very yummy!!
The chorizo taco were fabulous. So great to have vegan options while travelling!!
Great vegan food... a bit on the pricey side but food that’s healthy and specialty tend to be on the pricier side
Excellent service, but expensive for the quality of food they serve.
Amazing food!! The menu is limited and follows the new “shared plates” trend but overall very well put together.
Rosalinda set an inviting tone with its lush green interior of various types of plants. However, that's as far as it got in terms of an enjoyable dining experience. Our starter (Young Coconut Ceviche) was refreshing with the perfect balance of sour, sweet and tartness. The Chorizo Rojo Taco was disappointing to say the least, the taco itself resembled the texture and taste of cardboard. To go with that, the Crispy Tofu and Rice Bowl was average. Finally to end off, we went with the Triple Chocolate Mousse, once again, this dish tasted bland, with only hits of salt coming through from the chocolate salt (?). The value for money you get from Rosalinda is downright ridiculous. Way too overpriced. Would not repeat, and would recommend you go elsewhere.
Awesome vegetarian/vegan restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. I am from out-of-town, went one night and it was just so good that I have now booked for another three nights - basically every night I am in Toronto. I would thoroughly recommend this place.
Best ceviche ever! Strong and tasty drinks, the Tijuana style broccolini plate was on point, the mushroom pozole needed a bit more heat and proper hominy but was also tasty, and the tres leche cake was probably one of the best vegan desserts we’ve ever had! We would highly recommend (and are likely going back again during our stay for that ceviche and cake!)
Started with the guacamole and pita which was much too salty. Coconut cerviche was original and fresh, spice and salt overpowered the jackfruit tortilla, squash tortilla was nicely done. Whole baby eggplant was my favorite item of the night, burritos were overdone and tasteless. Desserts were decadent, but very pricey. Rosalinda is an original. Happy to have experienced it, but wouldn’t go back.
First, kudos for being open 11 to 11. Because they do not break between lunch and dinner, I was able to take my friend out right after work, before he departed downtown. He is vegan, I am not. I work in the hospitality industry, he does not. Overall, our experience was excellent. The room itself is very nice. Some areas resembling a very calming Greenhouse, and other areas that look a bit like an industrial rave in someone's sponge-painted cellar. The menus were far too busy with paper cards paper clipped everywhere, and then even more paper cards place right on the table. I asked our server just to bring us a selection of what she thought was excellent, and that was a very good example of what the restaurant represented. She most certainly did not disappoint. Plate after plate was brought to our table for us to share. Each prepared with superlative ingredients, and presented in an absolutely beautiful fashion. The flavor profiles, and contrasts in texture we're simply wonderful to explore. I was extremely impressed with the product knowledge of each and every server that came to our table. Each plate that arrived to our table, and there were many, was explained in depth, and with great fervor. Drink prices are far too high placing them out of their league. After all is said and done, there were only two alcoholic beverages, and one bottle of water. Still our bill was over $200. I must admit, my impression as a non-vegan, was that we were having salad, after appetizer, after side dish, but instead of a main course, we just got the bill. I left the restaurant not feeling un-satiated, yet unfinished. My Vegan friend enjoyed it thoroughly, and said it was the most excellent vegan restaurant he had been too. The location is excellent being just 2 minutes from Osgoode Subway. Overall the ingredients, presentation, service, and the room were all excellent, especially for a vegan restaurant. Prices are too high, after all they're not paying for wagyu beef are they?
Incredible service, atmosphere and vibe. The food never leaves taste buds disappointed. I love bringing hardcore carnivores here!
Never disappoints! The restaurant is beautiful inside, staff provides great service and food is tasty. It’s the place to bring non-vegans. They won’t believe it.
They could use more staff, having a few waiters make them moody and forget or mixed orders.
Excellent service and excellent quality food. It was enjoyed by both my vegan friend and myself, an omnivore.
The ambiance of the restaurant was great, and the food was excellent! My friends and I had a fantastic time at Rosalinda ( be sure to try their tres leches!!)
Worst service I’ve ever experienced. First of all, the waiter served the table that came after us first and took care of their orders. Our food never came and by the time the table next to us was done which was about 45 minutes later, we wanted to say something to the waiter but he didn’t seem to care about us. He served every single table around us but us. He checked in with every table but us. So we said something to the hostess who then informed us that the kitchen will expedite the order - it was fries and burger , I think order itself was simple enough that didn’t need any expediting. We had to leave because we just couldn’t wait any longer. The waiter never came around to apologize or even asked what was wrong. Perhaps the waiter didn’t want to serve us from the very beginning after I made him change my glass that had a lipstick mark on.
our server Moses was awesome! detail oriented, remembering very clearly who was allergic to what and thoughtful in bringing over some items for the people with dietary restrictions to try!
We loved Rosalinda!! Definitely would want to go back. The food and drinks were so delicious and inventive. Even though it’s a bit pricy, it was well worth it! I am vegan, but brought 3 others who were not. They commented often on how much they loved it, and didn’t miss the meat or dairy in their takes on classic dishes! It’s a great spot for sharing different plates. And they’re very accommodating with allergies, which is great. We were celebrating my birthday, and even though we only barely mentioned, they added a birthday candle to our desserts! Great, helpful service in a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be back for future celebrations!
Have tried most of the dishes already and cannot say I have favourite, they were all really good!
I brought my best friend for her birthday and our server took such good care of us! The margaritas are delicious!
Tasty and creative vegetarian options in a convenient location downtown Toronto.
Attentive service, knowledgeable, experienced staff.
The ambiance was very nice, and our waitress was friendly. However, two points stood out: First, service was very slow. The time in between courses was very long, leading to a lot of waiting. Second, I had an avocado tostada. It tasted a bit strange, and I'm fairly sure it was responsible for some stomach issues later on.
Great food but all of it is pretty spicy. Not an affordable place to eat but like I said: great food
I will always come here!
