Great place, great food and great service. Was a thoroughly pleasant sunday lunch sat outside (as per Boris' requirement)
Thanks for your review Kevin- so glad you enjoyed! Roll on 17th May when indoors opens!
Brilliant and friendly service, my family were walking for the myton hospices and were impressed to hear about all of the amazing things the rose and crown have done to support the hospice in lockdown! Just shows what a warming place it is and the food was delish too!
Aw thanks for the lovely review TashaB- We do hope to see you again soon!
A well organised, safe and efficient service. Plenty of staff, all willing to help when required.
Thanks Andy- we love what we do and glad you do too! Hope to see you again soon.
Steak was amazing and well worth the price. Perfectly cooked and matched lovely with wine. Outside heaters kept it warm on a chilly evening. Fantastic food and atmosphere.
Ah thanks for the fantastic review Catherine- so glad you enjoyed!
Great to see that after the lockdown the Rose & Crown continues to deliver wonderful food and drinks.
Location is good with good spacing between tables. Staff were very polite and attentive. Menu was good with a nice selection on the specials board. Down side was that the chips in particular came already salted and were over salted this spoilt the food, much prefer to be able to add salt to taste. White bait appeared to have been either over cooked or double dipped and then not left to drain so pre dominant taste was of cooking oil. Had an appetiser of red Dorset salami which appeared to have been sliced for some time and become dried on the side exposed to the air. Having eaten here before this was not the experience I was expecting.
Thanks for your review LawrenceB- I'm very sorry to hear there were a few issues and we will certainly be looking into your comments. If you would like to chat more with us about your visit, please do get in touch with us firstname.lastname@example.org m
Lovely early evening sun

Thanks for the great review Sarah and the recommendation. We hope to welcome you back after lock down.
Great service. Didn’t feel like we were socially distancing but we were! Music and ambience were fab. We were on a girls night out for a 40th dinner. Just lovely!
Great to hear you all enjoyed, thanks for celebrating with us. Hope we can welcome you back again soon.
Excellent food and service. Friendly atmosphere and feels safe during this Covid19 crisis.
Thanks for your feedback Stephen, it's great to hear you found our team super friendly, felt safe but still enjoyed the atmosphere and enjoyed dining with us. Hope we can welcome you back again soon
We went for a Sunday roast, they had a great selection and would gladly top up roasties, Yorkshire puds and gravy.
Food was really great and service super friendly and welcoming. Will be going again soon!
Glad you enjoyed your Sunday with us and that you will be back - that's great! We look forward to seeing you again
The waiter was excellent I think his name was jo? Very good at looking after us and keeping us informed. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Although a little pricey it was worth it .
So glad you enjoyed. Jo is great isn't he - glad to hear he looked after you so well. Thanks for celebrating your anniversary with us and do hope we can welcome you back again
Friendly and attentive staff. Good choice of drinks and food with generous portions. Absolutely lovely meal.

Lovely staff...definitely recommend
That is good to hear, its been tough but we are happy to be back open! Its nice to be nice Alison- thank you for the lovely review
We walked out of the gates of Warwick castle and 5 minutes up the road was this lovely, welcoming pub. Booked online 20 minutes before. The service was excellent, the waitress was particularly lovely to our children.
The food was outstanding, some of the best meat we’ve ever eaten for a Sunday lunch and excellent selection of Veg. Highly recommended!
Thanks so much Helen for your lovely review! Sunday lunch is a really important service to us and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. We can't wait to hopefully see you again soon.
Our trip on Wednesday was very disappointing. Whilst it did not appear to be a busy night the staff clearly struggled to provide good service. The tonic was wrong in one gin, a straw had to be asked for 3 times. The 3 who chose the lamb, whilst enjoyed it, all said it was served cold. A side of potatoes and a side of tomato salad were missed off the order. The request for ice cream with the cheesecake was also missed. Joined later by our partners who had to wait a longer time for their drinks to be served, consequently two had to leave their drinks when the taxi turned up. Whilst only small niggles it didn’t make for a pleasant evening. Also we had to ask for the music to be turned down twice as we could not hear the conversation on the table .
Hi SLouise. We're sorry to hear your feedback from your visit on Wednesday & that we missed your requests. Thank you for your feedback, which will be used as learnings for the team. We were unexpectedly busy on Wednesday, but this does not excuse a drop in service, we will work with the team to show how important it is to give seamless service to every guest, every time. I can only say this was a blimp and not our usual standard, and hope you will give us another try soon. Many Thanks, Bex
We have been many times and the standard of service, quality of food, value for money and ambience remain as high as ever. I look forward to my next visit.
Excellent service from Monique.
Great menu and specials board.
Wonderful food, seems the break has done it good. Tash was lovely and welcoming, felt safe and nice vibe in the pub even with less people
What a lovely find. Very nice location and pub itself is comfy and relaxing. Food was brilliant - 2 of us had the Sunday gammon which was delicious. Portions are a good size. One of our other friend's is vegetarian - he thought the harissa aubergine main was ok nothing to write home. But enjoyed the starters - mushrooms and the halloumi fries. I would definitely go again.
Good food and EXCELLENT, friendly service. Recommended
Dined with a friend. Only a handful of other diners. Two waiting staff had to ask for water; fish dish we both chose not available.
Second choice [ only other ] fish dish we were told was a fillet. Then returned and told it was 'on the bone'. When it arrived it was neither!!! two small pieces of fish each. Fish was very good, but vegetables were cool / cold and rather than send it all back we ate it, because by now I did not want any more delays in eating.
Dessert fab! Service was pleasant but unskilled & poorly trained.
Noisy bar area close to diners; not usually a problem but on this occasion quite rowdy.
Sadly, nothing to go back for.
It was unwelcoming, the member of staff who showed us to the table was dour, busy and bit scruffy, just went through the motions and not in any way engaged with us as the customers ( I don't think he was a waiter). The menu was full of trendy descriptions of less common food combinations; took a while to find something appealing. When it came I was surprised to find my Coq au Vin was poorly presented - a mess of rather a lot of stringy chicken with some bacon lumps and a wee portion of shredded cabbage. The dessert was nice enough but very small. I asked for Lime and Soda and was given soda water with a small wedge of lime. I expected a soda water mixed with Lime Cordial, when I apologised for perhaps not making my order clear I was told they don't have Lime Cordial - an explanation of this at the ordering stage would have been appreciated. This was a birthday lunch and the restaurant was very quiet, thankful that we chose the 'New Year Treat' deal but having said that I had to redraw attention to it after the bill came without the discounted adjustment. It was altered when I asked, without a word, literally without a word. All very disappointing.
How disappointed that one of our favourite places has dropped to such poor standards, particularly where service is concerned !
Our visit on Boxing Day was our second in three days and on both occasions the service was poor and the team seemed totally indifferent but the family lunch on December 26th. was the worst. We waited at the entrance to the restaurant for what seemed like an age, the team member was far too concerned with the computer screen to even look our way. While we still waited a guest already seated got up and helped themselves to menus. Still waiting and plenty of tables free we went to go to a table, now at last the server stopped us asked our name and pointed to a table at the end of the room which we could go to. By the time we had sat down the other guests who had helped themselves to a menu, stood up and walked out. We felt like doing the same ! ( The member of your team asked a colleague what they had done to upset them ? )
There is more but !!!! We recall how the R & C used to be, bursting at the seams with regulars and always fantastic smiles and attention from the team. Oh for the days of Susie and Emma.
A great start to our festive weekend. The place was buzzing and the Staff did a good job of looking after us.
The food is of a good standard and nicely cooked. As it was the last weekend it was packed but we were still seated in plenty of space.
Its a great pub, but diassapointed at todays work xmas meal effort. We were in the front bar but service very slow for two courses for msin & desert (arrived 12.00pm and left 2.45pm)..i don't blame the server as she was too stretched...there simply wasnt enough staff (& the kitchen couldn't cope with the volume of meals to prepare at once) for clearly a busy lunchtime of xmas lunch tables. There didnt appear to be a front of house or any staff in the front. We felt left to it. There was no rapport with the place that is normally welcoming. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins twice for both courses despite all 8 of us wearing xmas hat's (which we had to ask for as they hadnt layed the table). When we did flag the time issue we were asked if we wanted more drinks which adds to cost and time (we all had to drive home after work & we were on a special extended lunch but not an all afternooner). We all left feeling a bit flat and one colleague left after first course due to time. I booked via opentable a week in advance but left deflated and I felt bad for my colleagues. Its a shame.
Excellent lunch after they sorted the overcharge on bill. They’d forgotten the reduction for lunch.
We weren’t rushed either so had a very enjoyable, relaxing catch-up with friends
Deinitley recomend. Service needs polishing but food was excellent, best Sunday roast in a long time. Good kids options. Four stars!
Great food, good atmosphere, would definitely visit again
Whitebait & steak was good. Did the job, a tad over priced. Okay service. Nothing too exciting.
Great service chicken and Ham pie was brilliant!
Great people recommended!
Lovely lunch time venue in heart of Warwick. Lamb rump with puréed peas and mint was delicious and tender. Sea bass with sapphire was excellent - crispy skin and done to perfection. Staff were attentive and checked ingredients with the kitchen for us. First visit here in a while and it was the quietest it’s ever been as start of school holidays. Recommend.
I have been here many times for lunch and loved it, but this time it was supper and the food was poor. The staff are great and I like the pub, but we took friends and it was disappointing.
Consistently good offering from the R&C with varied menu and quality food.
