Rossopomodoro - Covent Garden
Out of the four dishes we ordered, one pasta dish was excellent and two pizzas were good but one pasta dish (the potato and pesto one) was quite awful. The front door was open a lot so we got cold, which wasn’t great, but the staff were super nice and helpful. Overall, the value for money is generally good (if you order the right dish).
Lovely restaurant with authentic italian food. Service very friendly and amazing location
Fantastic once again! Great food, with great service.
Great food and atmosphere. The pizzas were really good and they have a lot of choices!
Food was amazing and vibe was perfect for celebratory meal! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening!
Food was lovely with an interesting menu. Staff were exceptional - friendly and attentive. Will definitely go again.
The food was good however they have way too many tables for the small restaurant and it was overcrowded and loud with several waiters constantly bumping onto your chair interrupting our dinner as you try to move left and right to let them pass through all evening.
We couldn't wait to leave to be honest! very bad on this occasion
Food was okay but came really late and not together. Some of us started to eat when the others finished. They brought some of the antipasti with the mains and we asked to cancel since the pizzas arrived but they said no. Poor service
The staff are welcoming and helpful and efficient, the food is good - what's not to like?
Good, service, lovely food, we have been before and will come again. Only downside was it was a little noisy with babies crying etc but on a Saturday afternoon this is to be expected.
Restaurant has no disabled access and very hard wooden chairs, when asked if we could have a cushion or a different chair with padding, we were made to feel like we were being a nuisance.
I asked if there was a disabled bathroom (rather than down a flight of steps) and two servers told me they would get back to me, 15 minutes later and no response at all. It was only when we had finished our meal that I managed to get the attention of another server who advised that there wasn't a disabled bathroom.
As we asked for the bill, the manager came over and apologised about the lack of disabled facilities and advised that should we return, we should mention when we book a table whether any of our party is disabled so they can plan ahead. This did not detract from the bad service we had already received and I have no confidence that any sort of training will be made in future to assist customers who require disabled access and who are not very visibly disabled.
The music in the restaurant was very loud and the servers spoke very quickly, making it difficult to hear and understand what they were saying.
Overall the food was very good but I would not recommend this restaurant.
Thought food was ok nothing special , think they use processed garlic which for an Italian restaurant is bad .Also think it's a bit cheeky to add the service charge to the bill, surely it's my prerogative as to whether I pay it . I didn't realise I'd later if until after I'd paid .
Having returned from Naples the week previous, we booked this restaurant looking for an authentic taste of Italy to help with our holiday blues! We are so pleased we did. From the warm welcome on arrival, attentive friendly service throughout, to the delicious food, we had we could not fault our experience. Looking forward to our next trip to London to visit you again!
Really REALLY good food & cocktails. It was lovely. The only slight issue is how busy it was and how many people were waiting to get a table. We felt rushed to leave.
Food was average and quite bland. They charge you for tap water and the service charge is added to the bill. Isn’t worth it. Waiters wanted to take our food before we had finished eating. The ambience isn’t great with waiters walking around staring at your table like hawks. When we didn’t pay for service the waiter frowned and patronisingly said why won’t you pay service. Won’t be visiting this place again
Always a nice evening out, thank you! We feel at home!
I booked a table for six on a Friday night. The table was ready when we arrived and despite the place becoming 100%full, service was never delayed and always cheerful.
Overpriced , poor service , clearly frozen food. Came across Rossopomodoro not realising it was a franchise. Find yourself a real Italian and don’t waste your money. I am fine with paying a service charge but a carbon emissions charge??? left me bewildered to say the least.
The pizzas were fantastic, but the service was probably the best I have experienced in London, attentive without being obtrusive, accommodating of requests and a real sense of personality from the staff. Keep up the great work, would definitely visit again and recommend.
Always fantastic food and service. The staff are friendly and helpful and I am equally at ease in there with my young children as with friends.
Never disappoints, love this place. Everything delicious and staff excellent!
Dreadful! This was an awful experience from start to finish. Having booked a table we expected some sort of recognition as we walked in but alas a table was not forthcoming. I then asked for a slight alteration on my child's menu and was told no chance. I thought they were joking but no!! The pesto pasta was inedible and like nothing I have had to endure before and the final straw that broke this camel's back was half the meals came out and then the second half came out a full 15 minutes later! If we'd wanted to eat separately we would have booked separate tables! This restaurant doesn't live up to a Prezzo or Pizza Express and was much more expensive, shame on you Rossopomodoro!
Good pizza but the service was quite inattentive on this visit.
We sat in a near empty restaurant waiting nearly an hour for 2 pastas and a salad ! The waitress who was busy talking to another table kept saying it was coming . Eventually we got the food it was cold ! Then the waiter cane over and told us it was supposed to be served like that . He took it away when it came back it was only warm . He took one pasta off the bill but my grandson left it anyway ! The bill was still £50 definitely not worth irc. Won’t go again .
Ottima pizza napoletana. Tutto lo staff è stato cordiale e professionale. Lo consiglio vivamente.
We received two pizzas burnt and asked to have two new ones because we could not eat the burnt ones.
The manager was very kind and in ten minutes we had two new pizzas (this time they were perfect),
Brilliant food in a great atmosphere. Make sure you book ahead!
Family pre theatre supper. The pizza was delicious and the location very convenient.
Did not like the atmosphere in the restaurant. Ordered a drink and two pizzas. Did not receive the drink, asked a waiter where it was and he said it was on its way, I had already gotten half way through my pizza, with one slice left to go the waiter looked at my table, saw there was no drink and went to ask the bar for it, I called the waiter over and said there is no point of me having the drink now, it was simply too late, my drink should have come before the pizzas arrived. They did not seem too bothered that they had lost customers as we will not be returning to this branch.
We’ve eaten here a number of times and always enjoyed our meal.
A side note for gluten free diners: My partner is Coeliac, and has never had an issue with eating here. This time, we noticed that a new disclaimer had been added to the menu Basically stating that coeliac’s should avoid the pizza as cooked in the same oven etc.
We spoke to the server about this who assured us that nothing will have changed since last time he ate here, so we took the risk.
Unfortunately my partner has most definitely been ‘glutened’ - I realise this is ‘our fault’ for taking the risk, but we feel that the server should have advised differently. I really don’t understand why this is not mentioned on the website?! We deliberately booked this restaurant as it used to be great for gf.
However, the reason for the poor review is not this. We honestly think that the standards have massively gone down from a year ago. The cocktails for example, were extremely poor. You can tell this place tried to be ‘authentic’ - with one of our servers being quite rude when one of our party requested some chilli be added to her main dish, and how this wasn’t ‘authentic’ - however the sorrow spritz was very poor. Served in a short glass with an abundance of ice, and very flat. Tasted absolutely nothing like the ones we’ve had all over Italy (don’t really understand how difficult this is to get wrong?? It’s just aperol, Prosecco and soda water).
The food was just ok - we had a selection of pizzas and a gnocchi dish with aubergine (which apparently was very good) - definitely not worth the prices. Sadly, we would have rather we had eaten in pizza express where the food is at least consistent and better value for money.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was actually quite pleasant - good vibe, not too loud.
However, as food is always the most important thing when eating out, sadly won’t be returning.
Great Italian in the heart of the West End which serves up excellent pizzas (and pasta) which is very authentic using good fresh ingredients. Highly recommend if you go with kids for a pre-theatre dinner - can't go wrong!
Unfortunatly, although gluten free options are available, we were advised that they are not suitable for coeliacs. The only suitable food was a choice of 2 gf pasta dishes. For this reason, we decided to look elsewhere.
Staff were extremely and knowlegable.
We had main and a dessert here in between part 1 and 2 of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. They sat us down promptly when we arrived as we had booked and they were more than helpful.
Great service and excellent food. We had a great experience
Good was only slightly above average.
Waiters were a little direct but that could just be the Italian fire in their personalities
Authentic Neapolitan pizza and the Amatriciana sauce is perfect.
We love Rossopomodoro! We have eaten at one in Italy, Denmark, and now in the UK. I definitely recommend making a reservation as this location gets quite busy.
Waited 20 minutes before we were asked for drinks order. Food freshly cooked to order. Seemed plenty of staff just not attentive to ordering or bringing the bill!
Food amazing as usual... Staff very friendly and attentive!
Really delicious food. The best pizza you will ever have.
