ROVI
We've teamed up with farmers who are passionate about growing great produce while respecting the environment. Fruit and vegetables will be come directly from biodynamic Brambletye in Sussex, and from Organiclea, a cooperative in East London.
In the center of the room is our bar which is reservable for guests dining with us over the age or 18, or 16 if accompanied by an adult. The rest of our seating is a mixture of standalone and communal tables which can be be converted into a semi private area for up to 10 to 12 guests. To host your event in this area please contact us directly.
Always excellent food. The tempura herbs still a favourite. Immensely delicious flavour combinations. Service this time was superb.
Delicious food. Interesting combinations of flavours. Great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Great food, lots of amazing flavours. Very good service. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. A bit noisy to my taste. Will definitely go back !
We had a fantastic Sunday afternoon lunch experience at ROVI where Freddy and the team gave us excellent service and the food was amazing. Will definitely go again and will recommend to friends.
Unfortunately not the experience we were hoping for! It’s such a shame coz the food was lovely but the staff were rushed of their feet and therefore inattentive! It felt like an airport restaurant instead of a high end eatery
Maybe a few less covers and a few more staff would be advisable
Food was excellent, full of flavour. One observation, though, was that there was little in the way of veggie protein. But what there was, was really imaginative and superbly presented.
Having been before I found the food was less good. No lobster crumpet so we tried the prawn but they were quite well done and the prawn filling no where near as good. Mallard duck was fine but the pancakes were quite cold, shame. Otherwise enjoyed the experience.
Ottolenghi does not disappoint - the flavours are huge and delicious and the choice is fantastic, especially the veggie stuff but the standouts were the prawn crumpets, the celeriac (the clue was in the wifi code), the leeks with sage (how do they do that to the humble leek??) and the haddock to share with dreamy curry sauce. The only down side was the price of the wine - nothing really under £40.
Very positive!
We were a little rushed - the 1.5hrs slot before 6 seems a bit pressured, but one of the staff (tall gentleman) spotted it and invited us to take a bar stool at the window to enjoy a final drink. So we ordered champagne! And stayed for a bit. Food amazing
Absolutely amazing food! And the staff was wonderful and helpful. Wish there was a place in Sweden like this! I recommend this place to everyone!
An amazing cuisine! We tried most dishes and each one was a culinary experience in its own right. Well done!
Only slightly negative comment I would make relates to the chocolate fondant- less saffron pls as I thought it was overpowering the fondant.
A wonderful experience- thank you!
Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Will definitely go there again in my next visit to London.
Had a wonderful evening at Rovi, loved the food, great service and beautiful restaurant. A dream came true for this Ottolenghi fan!
It's not cheap but the care and love that goes into the inventive dishes makes for an incredible meal. Staff were hard-working but friendly. Usually at this standard of restaurant the staff can be a bit snobby but not at Rovi. They were friendly and patient, nothing was too much trouble.
Yes it was an amazing experience would love to go there every day for breakfast
The food was amazing and my friend and I loved everything we ordered.
However the service wasn’t great. I arrived early and was forced a menu into my hands when I was taking my jumper off, the format for ordering was whispered to us, no extra drinks were offered, and the door lady rudely told us we had to leave or move in 15 minutes which was fine, but we had finished, and instead of asking how long we would be it felt like she was telling us off. As the tables are ridiculously close to each other, where to even get to a bench seat is a struggle if you’re larger than a size 10, the waiter wiped the table next to us and accidentally knocked the candle on the floor and hot wax covered my jeans, and my friends new leather boots and coat. So we spent the next ten minutes wiping hot wax off our clothes. But not to worry they got their table back on time. Definitely wouldn’t recommend unless they do takeaway.
Amazing bartenders advising us on the food. Great ambiance and perfect food!
The ambience and the service was really great. Food was good too (I enjoyed the focus on pickling techniques!), however, compared with the usual high quality Ottolenghi offers, this wasn’t as tasty. Some of the dishes weren’t as balanced as I would expect them. Also, a lot of Indian spices dominated the food and one cannot tell that from reading the menu. An aperitif cocktail at the start of the meal was quite watery and average tasting for the cost of it. Overall, I would say the meal was too overpriced for the quality it delivers. I wouldn’t mind paying more if the quality was better but it was quite average.
Exceptionally good food, warm and efficient service.
A delicious meal of many interesting starters and a shared main severed in a pleasant atmosphere.
Terrible organisation. Previous tables were running late, people were not moved on, and we were seated 30 mins later than our reservation time. The 'waiting area' was just floor space in between tables, with no chairs/bar/anything, which made the whole experience rather awkward.
Food was ok - staff were friendly and attentive to allergies, but its frustrating that everything is prepared in advance because it significantly reduced what i could eat, when in reality i should have had far more options.
Food we ordered was nice, but i wouldnt return.
A great choice of small plates for sharing including plenty of choices for the vegan in our group. We love the imaginative flavouring of vegetable based dishes and the celeriac shawarma is unbelievably tasty.
I’d been dying to get to Rovi for a while and it exceeded my already high expectations. The staff is wonderfully attentive to any dietary restrictions and ready to answer any questions. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food was spectacular!
Ideal venue for a perfect lunch - food, service, ambience and the staff were all exceptional
Another impeccable evening at ROVI. The food here showcases the beautiful combinations of flavours that are quintessentially Ottolenghi with many vegetarian options. The mackerel and some were huge hits with our guests while I am still dreaming of the side of potatoes. Seriously the potatoes are that good. All sharing plates make for a convivial, informal and super approachable meal without any sacrifice to the quality of food and service. My only wish is for a slightly more extensive wine list. We will be back again and again.
Very tasty food, especially vegetarian choices. The best came in the end - artichoke ice-cream!
Outstanding cuisine from chefs that really know their stuff. An outstanding outpost of Ottolenghi’s empire. Highly recommended
Sadly -I was disappointed with the food - We shared the vegetarian sharing plates and to be honest they were bland and expensive for what they were !
My partner had the beef option , which was just average.
Service was good - venue light and chilled -BUT the food was overpriced and not inspiring to be honest. Over priced for what you got !
Quality of food disappointing. Menu not very interesting. Service rather rushed.
Price quality not aligned.
Fantastic server, great food friendly staff
We went for a special occasion of which the staff were aware. The food was excellent as it is in all Ottolenghi establishments, but the service was even worse than Ottolenghi Islington where I had a serious service failure a fortnight ago. In this case, we waited ages for the menus and eons for dessert. Bread was ordered and not brought. While we were waiting for dessert, the staff was busily cleaning up and resetting the tables. This is unexceptable.
I don't normally leave reviews but seeing as OpenTable, you have asked, I thought it worth mentioning my experience.
I booked Rovi for a Sunday lunch as my dad was coming into town and I had heard great things about Rovi from colleagues.
When we arrived, the staff were very friendly, however despite having booked a week in advance we were shown to a table at the very back, in the corner. The restaurant was full though so understand that someone would have to be sat at this table.
Sadly though, as we were tucked away, it appeared that whilst there were many staff, no one was allocated to our table so we had to ask if someone could take our order, we struggled to get attention to order drinks and had to ask for our plates to be cleared away after they'd been sitting there for quite a while. On top of that, our table was next to a selection of pumpkins and there were tons of fruit flies swarming us as we ate, which was rather unappetizing.
Eventually the restaurant cleared out and we did eventually move tables to have our desserts as the flies were just so off-putting.
In terms of the food, it was actually lovely. I'd highly recommend the polenta crumbed mushrooms and the texture of the burrata was incredible. The tempura herbs with a mandarin vinagerette were questionable and if I were to visit again, I would order the grilled halibut.
The staff themselves were very polite, however the lack of organisation and the feeling that we were ignored tainted the whole experience. And also the flies.
Rovi was an amazing experience, even more creative than I expected.. Yotam is a genius!
The food made up for the experience. When you arrive there is no space at the central bar to wait while your table is prepared...you are reminded of a 2 hour dining slot yet the service is slow and orders do not arrive together. We were then asked if we really wanted to order that second bottle of wine as our main course arrived? And then made to feel like they were doing us a favor when they managed to give us extra time at the table!
Fantastic food such a shame they try to fit in 3 evening covers when 2 is plenty.
Like the concept of the menu, but I would if the menu can highlight the spice level of some dishes. I personally like spicy food, but would prefer the spicy would not over take the dish.
We enjoyed food and service very much. Really outstanding; just one personal remark: the mussels are kind of too spicy; might be recommendable to outline the chili oil for those who come first time.
Ottolenghi food experience: it's always a good idea! Every dish contained a fermented part but mostly on the side. We had brought our kids who are Ottolenghi fans but were not so much into the fermented parts. It was easy to skip for them. For us the combination of all flavours was delicious with every dish. Overall quite pricy but quality and good food comes at a price.
The restaurant is very nice, food is good if you like fusion and unusual combinations. Is quiet noisy and we were seated next to the kitchen, even more noisy. Overall is a nice restaurant, but I do not think I’ll go back.
Incredible food, just a little on the expensive side!
