Jurema Terrace at The Mandrake
Friendly and attentive service , however I found it a little expensive for what it is .
Sit at the bar for a more casual and fun experience.
Lunch menu, recommend Celariac Shawarma
Brunch menu has limited options for Gluten Free.
Also, they don't offer gluten free bread, even thought they have gluten free pita available (but only for lunch).
After complaining with manager I eventually could have my GF bread on the table.
Portions are not particularly big (above all pancakes, only 2 in the plate).
Great food and different experience than Ottolenghis other restaurants. Our server only forgot to tell us that there were traces of the bullet in the duck.
Absolutely stunning food, particularly as a vegetarian - so many options! The celeriac and leek dishes were exquisite
Superb food, lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. Service was very good albeit a little hasty at times but we won’t hold that against them ☺️
Delicious brunch, unusual options which made a change from the usual fare. Main dishes were reasonably priced although smaller options were on the pricey side (very expensive croissant!). They also accommodated our baby, providing a high chair and storing our buggy in the office. Would definitely come back.
Loved it. The jalapeno cornbread was amazing. Highly recommend.
The welcome and the ambiance were great and so was the food
The waiters attention to detail wasn’t as great although they were charming
Great atmosphere and delicious food - recommend the octopus delicious
I love Ottolenghi but the service was extremely rushed, we had asked for the traditional service (starters and then a main course) but our main courses arrived before we had finished the starters. When we finished the main course, the waiter had already asked if we wanted desert and coffee, we ordered desert and said we would like to order coffee after the desert, the waiter said he was foi g to “check” If this was possible. It was all very rushed.
The decaffeinated coffee was horrible, we had to send it back. The food was good.
Expectations were high. Like Ottolenghi's recipes. But, very disappointed. Food was mediocre - the tempura vegetables were pathetic. Overpriced and bland food.
I have visited twice before and been blown away by both the food and the service.
Unfortunately the service was a real let down this time. When asked if the meat was halal or kosher, we were told it wasn't, but that they use very fine cuts of meat (not particularly helpful for one of our party). The meal felt rushed with too little time between courses, culminating in us being told our table was needed by another party and that we could finish our deserts at the bar.
The exceptional lobster crumpets promised by the website had been replaced with prawn crumpets, which lacked any real wow factor (according to our waiter, because lobster is out of season). The octopus, on the other hand, was outstanding, as were the deserts.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and delicious, unique food
Wonderful service as always! Kindly offered additional pillows for my aching pregnancy back and really made sure I felt comfortable!
The food at Rovi is flavoursome, but perhaps too convoluted. Broccoli was so al dente you couldn’t even cut it with a sharp knife. Biggest downside for us is the closeness of the tables, such that you can barely get through to sit down & conversations on either side can be clearly heard. Wines are very expensive, & all in all, for what you get, this is a very over-priced restaurant.
My wife and 2 friends were in London to see a show and to stay for 2 days. We were recommended to go the ROVI for a meal. Booked a table and had a fantastic evening and a lovely meal. Would go there again.
Expensive and poor wine list. Some great dishes - must try celeriac kebab!
Food was quite rich. Really struggled to understand the waitress. Wine recommended was sent back. Didn’t love it as much as we thought we would.
Great, expect it was a very cold breeze sitting in the bar.
Always excellent food. The tempura herbs still a favourite. Immensely delicious flavour combinations. Service this time was superb.
Delicious food. Interesting combinations of flavours. Great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Great food, lots of amazing flavours. Very good service. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. A bit noisy to my taste. Will definitely go back !
We had a fantastic Sunday afternoon lunch experience at ROVI where Freddy and the team gave us excellent service and the food was amazing. Will definitely go again and will recommend to friends.
Unfortunately not the experience we were hoping for! It’s such a shame coz the food was lovely but the staff were rushed of their feet and therefore inattentive! It felt like an airport restaurant instead of a high end eatery
Maybe a few less covers and a few more staff would be advisable
Food was excellent, full of flavour. One observation, though, was that there was little in the way of veggie protein. But what there was, was really imaginative and superbly presented.
Having been before I found the food was less good. No lobster crumpet so we tried the prawn but they were quite well done and the prawn filling no where near as good. Mallard duck was fine but the pancakes were quite cold, shame. Otherwise enjoyed the experience.
Ottolenghi does not disappoint - the flavours are huge and delicious and the choice is fantastic, especially the veggie stuff but the standouts were the prawn crumpets, the celeriac (the clue was in the wifi code), the leeks with sage (how do they do that to the humble leek??) and the haddock to share with dreamy curry sauce. The only down side was the price of the wine - nothing really under £40.
We were a little rushed - the 1.5hrs slot before 6 seems a bit pressured, but one of the staff (tall gentleman) spotted it and invited us to take a bar stool at the window to enjoy a final drink. So we ordered champagne! And stayed for a bit. Food amazing
Absolutely amazing food! And the staff was wonderful and helpful. Wish there was a place in Sweden like this! I recommend this place to everyone!
An amazing cuisine! We tried most dishes and each one was a culinary experience in its own right. Well done!
Only slightly negative comment I would make relates to the chocolate fondant- less saffron pls as I thought it was overpowering the fondant.
A wonderful experience- thank you!
Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Will definitely go there again in my next visit to London.
Had a wonderful evening at Rovi, loved the food, great service and beautiful restaurant. A dream came true for this Ottolenghi fan!
It's not cheap but the care and love that goes into the inventive dishes makes for an incredible meal. Staff were hard-working but friendly. Usually at this standard of restaurant the staff can be a bit snobby but not at Rovi. They were friendly and patient, nothing was too much trouble.
Yes it was an amazing experience would love to go there every day for breakfast
The food was amazing and my friend and I loved everything we ordered.
However the service wasn’t great. I arrived early and was forced a menu into my hands when I was taking my jumper off, the format for ordering was whispered to us, no extra drinks were offered, and the door lady rudely told us we had to leave or move in 15 minutes which was fine, but we had finished, and instead of asking how long we would be it felt like she was telling us off. As the tables are ridiculously close to each other, where to even get to a bench seat is a struggle if you’re larger than a size 10, the waiter wiped the table next to us and accidentally knocked the candle on the floor and hot wax covered my jeans, and my friends new leather boots and coat. So we spent the next ten minutes wiping hot wax off our clothes. But not to worry they got their table back on time. Definitely wouldn’t recommend unless they do takeaway.
Amazing bartenders advising us on the food. Great ambiance and perfect food!
The ambience and the service was really great. Food was good too (I enjoyed the focus on pickling techniques!), however, compared with the usual high quality Ottolenghi offers, this wasn’t as tasty. Some of the dishes weren’t as balanced as I would expect them. Also, a lot of Indian spices dominated the food and one cannot tell that from reading the menu. An aperitif cocktail at the start of the meal was quite watery and average tasting for the cost of it. Overall, I would say the meal was too overpriced for the quality it delivers. I wouldn’t mind paying more if the quality was better but it was quite average.
