I enjoyed Rowley's because foods were good and ambience was good. I ate beef, chicken and Lamb. Each was delisious.
We had the chateaubriand to share and it was just absolute perfection. Whole dining experience was fantastic. Thank you.
It was once a "traditional men's club", and needs an update of interior, to reflect modern times and that it is no longer for boys only.
Took 2 families there, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Fantastic steak. Great service by Chris. No complaints at all.
Worth the price. A good way to end a vacation in London.
Three people tried the chateaubriand, the prawn dish, and the cod. All were very good, and we were brought as many chips as we could eat. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend.
The bream entree with watercress was very nicely done. My husband’s lamb chops were somewhat gristly. What the menu said was a meat pie turned out to be a kind of shepherd’s pie with mashed potatoes and mince-I had expected a traditional English meat pie with a pastry crust and should have asked.
We had the creme brulee[no accents available] for dessert; it was good, but very small.
This was 3rd time I was to the restaurant in 1.5 years. Service was slow...took 30 minutes to get our food. Worst part the team did not deal with 4 noisy men drinking heavily and making everyone else feel uncomfortable. We moved ourselves to another table. The staff did nothing. Not good.
Good for business lunch. Food very good - but it was completely empty! Ok, we were early but even so, Thursday lunchtime in the West End? That said, well spaced tables, good service and really good food. No more expensive than anywhere else nearby so would use again.....
Great place. Food and service excellent.
We had a great time. Rowley’s had a wide range of wines in 500ml options as well as bottles which was very welcome. Our steaks were served pre-sliced and served on a hot plate which they kept warm with a flame. My medium-rare was spot on but did start to move towards medium because of the hot plate.
The unlimited fries kept coming and the staff were not shy about offering more. V
Always good. Great service and word. Highly recommended and will be gong again
A character building with charm. The food is good. On a previous visit I had their excellent steak but as I was going to the theatre I wanted something lighter. The lamb was great.
Food was really very nice and service was good. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime but told the kitchen would soon be closing so was surprised this information was not available at time of booking. After ordering a NA cocktail & paying the price I was disappointed to see it just be poured from a soda bottle & garnished with mint before serving. I’m sure a busy weeknight visit would be more bustling.
Went here for our anniversary. We had a deal on the steak. The steaks were perfect prepared and good value. Only trouble was there our cocktails (over £25 for two!) were watered down and our starter a chicken salad had what looked like tiny store bought (from Tesco etc) chicken strips added to it. We also got brought the wrong starter — fish instead of the salad. Overall it was okay, but the things that were wrong were just basics. Sort those things out and this would have been much better.
I would not recommend for after-theatre dining on a weekday. The place was empty and we were the last customers
Although the food was good, we have been many times over the years so knew what to expect, we were disappointed we had booked in advance and there was no reserved table (there was availability but still disappointing). We felt the cost of the meal was quite expensive and felt awkward when we paid in cash and service had been added but the waiting staff asked if we wanted our change which was about £6/7 a little embarrassing when we had already given 12% of the bill.
Steak with chips very good but no vegetables included, early evening so quick service and quiet very friendly service.
Everythint went well! Grrat food, ambience and waiter was friendly.
Very good food and service good value for. Dinner
We had a fantastic lunch on a Thursday day off / day out in London. This was our first time and a Rowleys but certainly won’t be our last. Cocktails, food, wine, decor and service all beautifully done.
The service was really good. I received really good feedback overall about food and service. So i would definitely re-book for business meetings.
Great environment. Wonderful staff food and wine great, always enjoyit.
A favourite place for the 4 of us. The welcome ,the food and the Berry's claret make it a first choice.
Wonderfully French bistro that serves a brilliant steak frites
I defy anyone not to enjoy this old favourite in Jermyn Street, particularly those who enjoy some red meat!
Good quality food, something a bit different for a steak, fries very tasty. Both my husband & I had the prawn cocktail to start and it was full of prawns and very tasty. Good service and for central London not expensive.
Really excellent food and a prime location with friendly staff
The ’Aged Entrecote Steak’ is perfect, as it has been for decades. Well worth a visit!
A jolly nice affair. Great food and service.
Fabulous food. We had a mix of starters from whitebait to pate and soup but we all had steaks for the main course. Plates were empty as the food was fabulous .... the only remnants were a few of the unlimited fries ;)
I took my friend here for his birthday and it did not disappoint.
We had a lovely conversation with our waiter, the food was spot on and the restaurant itself was beautiful.
I would happily recommend Rowley's to anyone and will be going back at some point soon.
Everything was perfect and We particolarly appreciated the service: Christian and Tunde have been very nice and professional.
Beautiful building and decor. Polite staff. Food was good but very expensive for the amount you get. Basically you pay for the location. Menu good. Pleasant enough but not Wow!
We arrived to a sparsely populated restaurant and every empty table we requested, were told “oh thats been reserved by one of our regulars” Needless to say after we had finished an admittedly excellent chateaubriand 1.5 hours later, those tables were still sitting empty.
If the manager had a slightly more cheery demeanour and a willingness to engage with his customers, more people would return on a regular basis to enjoy the excellent cooking, thoughtful wines and charming table service...just a thought. There’s only so many tourists to go around.
We took some guests who very much enjoyed their night out.
It's my absolut Favorit when staying in London! Friendly staff, perfekt quality and the amazing character of the whole local!
Superb food, worth every penny!
Look forward to going there again.
Especially handy after concert at st James church ,200 meters away.
Excellent food with service to match, just right, would recommend Rowley's to any one who wants to enjoy their night in a restaurant with great atmosphere
Excellent as always . We all enjoyed the evening and no doubt will be back again at some point
A totally reliable and always memorable and satisfying experience.
As good as it was 20 years ago. Sublime steak and bottomless fries with lovely staff. Quiet on a Sunday night but always a treat.
