Rowley's Restaurant

Lovely for family celebrations. Service was fantastic. Most of the steaks excellent but cote de boeuf dissappointing on this occasion. Love the roquefort butter sauce and all the fries!!

Fabulous! Great food and attentive but not overbearing service. Good wine list too for all tastes and budgets.

You feel quite special in these city surroundings which is a treat.
The service levels however need to step up to manage your expectations..otherwise its just a yearly visit.

We used to come here years ago and the entrecote-frites was a real treat. Had it this time and it was mediocre - meat quality not great, a little chewy and, irritatingly, already sliced-up - exactly how they do it at the more-upmarket places like Hawksmoor and Goodman. Which is fine there but not what you want from an old school steak-frites place.
Good, efficient, friendly and speedy service though. Starters were fine and the decent house claret went down well. We had a nice time but, as I say, the meat was a little disappointing.

Very tasty meal. Steaks excellent, chips perhaps not up to Relais de Venise standards. Service good overall although waiter was clearly guessing when asked which of the steaks was rare and which better done. Quite pricey but generally decent value for money for a restaurant in this area. I'd definitely go again.

Reliable, old standby, with many repeat customers. Old wooden tables, informal and efficient service.
Entrecote and chips are top choice. But menu as a whole is unchanging and agreeable.

One of my favorites in London, and the Christmas menu tempted me away from my go-to house steak entree.

Despite being short-staffed the serving staff and front of house were outstanding. No complaints whatsoever. Will look for another opportunity to visit!

The staff was extremely rude and arrogant. The food was good. Took forever to arrive. It was so quiet it was uncomfortable to be there as if in a library where we shouldn’t speak above a hushed tone. Ridiculously expensive.

We enjoyed a pre-theater dinner at Rowley's and found it both authentic and delicious. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit late and were somewhat rushed, but the staff were very attentive and accommodating, getting us in and out quickly to make our show.

The cheeseburger was over cooked. The chef was asked to cook it medium but refused citing health and safety concerns. Won’t go back unless I want another uneatable burger.

Mid Sunday afternoon, roads jammed with traffic, but in Rowleys the only traffic jam was getting all the plates and dishes onto the table. A really great lunch was had by all. Thanks!

We have been at Rowley's several times before for a pre-theatre meal. This time the service was very poor and bordering on the openly rude. Either the staff are new to the job and unaware of what is required or they simply do not care any more. It is difficult to describe how disappointing the whole experience. We wont be going back.

We had a warm welcome on arrival, attentive service and excellent food. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Well done!

Our meal was as good as always. I have been eating at Rowleys for over 37 year! Things have changed as the original offer was very thin slices of steak with as many refills or green salad and fries as you wanted. The Rowley's butter remains every bit as good as always. Our table burner was not working to start which meant that the steak was cold, the butter wouldn't melt so not the bext start. But our waitress sorted it all out for us.

We arrived a few minutes late, but we were immediately accommodated. Service was attentive, the food was delicious. Love to come here, it is always wonderful. Highly recommend.

Bad food over priced thr meat quality is not fried aged as you claim and it is poor quality meat and poor quality fries it is toursit trap

I ordered fillet steak medium rare. It arrived well done and was served with cold fries.

I’ve said no because it would be with caveats.

The food was ok, just the service a bit lacking. We had to ask for more fries, struggled to attract attention and then there was quite a wait.

Given there was a group of seven of us, I’d have expected someone to enquire about fries shortly after serving.

And it wasn’t busy.

Their 'specialty' Entrecote steak was a bit of a disappointment. It tasted fine but it was very little meat for the price, even in Mayfair. The fries that come with it were decent.

Ambiance was very nice, as was one of the mid range wines by the glass that I ordered. For Saturday evening it felt a bit empty. The service was friendly although the waiters could have done with a bit more training (the waiter serving the fries kept dropping fries on the floor when serving them). I probably won't be back, there are better options in the area.

We arrived late and hungry and were welcomed warmly and served quickly. Steak, chips (bottomless) and spinach - perfect!

An old favourite on the historic Jermyn Street. I’d not been here for years, and a friend suggested we should go for a meal.
Lovely classic dishes, well presented by pleasant and engaging staff members.
It will not be so long before I return again!

You need to offer more sides! No onion rings! No Mac cheese!
