RPM Italian - DC
One of the worst restaurant weeks I’ve been to. Really small portions. Not worth it at all. Save this restaurant for a special occasion
Air was a great meal, outstanding service and a wonderful experience all around
our 1st time visiting RPM and we enjoyed it. Our server was fine but another server stop at our table to greet us and she help us enroll in your App. She was so sweet as was the hostess's. We reserved a table next month for our 34th anniversary dinner. We're hoping the experience stay the same.
This was a simple date night that turned out to be an amazing experience
Rpm is always a great experience. This time was exceptional. Our sever Hayward was over the top and always went above and beyond. Certainly could not have asked for a better time.
Daniel was excellent. The meatballs were great. The chicken parm was ok. The gelato was ok. The garlic bread and cocktails were great.
Based on what I have heard of this restaurant and reviews online our expectations were high and we felt our experience fell short.
I think it's a matter of what you order. Unfortunately, the dishes we ordered this time around were okay but I could have made that at home. Nothing special at all which was a shame.
Had to wait a really long time to get food even though it was an off hour for lunch and they weren’t that busy. The meatballs appetizer was delicious. Chicken parmesan was very underwhelming — would not order again.
They did a very good job with the restaurant week menu and the staff was wonderful. We also ordered items from the regular menu and they were disappointing, the garlic bread which was recommended was so bad I was surprised. It is hard to believe that a place that does everything so well could serve such a poor, bland and greasy bread that they brag about
Service was impeccable!!!
RPM is by far my fav Italian in DC! The impeccable service, welcoming ambience, outstanding food and extensive wine list all assure a memorable experience!
Restaurant Week is my favourite time to try new restaurants, and that's how I ended up at RPM Italian! I went with three friends (only one had ever dined there before). From our appetizer, main course, and dessert, we enjoyed it all. It was a fun night out in the city!
Great food, great service! I really enjoyed dc restaurant week at this restaurant.
Very accommodating and the food was good!
Food was really expensive, and not terribly high quality. Ambiance was fine, but maybe not my style. Service was excellent.
Fantastic service!! Great food!!
The food was fabulous. Service, fabulous! My first time there, will definitely be back. I'm also interested in hosting private dinners there too.
Our waiter was absolutely engaging and took very good care of us
Amazing! Will come back
The service was great. Matthew was a great conversationalist. The food was good but it lacked a vegetable. We would have to pay for that separately. I left less than satisfied. It is not your typical Italian Restaurant, it is more new age Italian which is good but not great.
Visited RPM during DC restaurant week 2019. Food was amazing, especially the sea bass. I think I may have found a new favorite restaurant!
Best lunch. Great restaurant week choice. Or anytime. Really impressed.
Had reservation had to wait 15 minutes.
I had wanted to go to RPM for awhile now...our waiter, our food and ambiance were excellent. I will go back to try other foods. I was there for restaurant week and although the food was super excellent just wished i had a wider selection to pick from...but YEAH, loved it.
The food was OUTSTANDING! I went for Restaurant Week and it was such a treat. Service, ambiance were excellent too. Location was easy. I've been to the one in Chicago which was equally excellent. GO!
Visited RPM for Restaurant week and I loved it! Perfect setting for a nice intimate date. The ambiance was great. The food was amazing (I had the meatball appetizer and seabass as an entree). The drinks were strong but taste good too! The only thing I can say is the cheesecake was very small. But I definitely enjoyed the experience!
Wonderful food - best garlic bread in DC!
The food was great and we truly enjoyed the ambiance!!
I wanted pasta and it was date night for me and my significant other. After seeing a movie in Chinatown, RPM was the perfect place to go to relax and enjoy a meal, or so I thought. The restaurant is lovely with low lights and an air of sophistication, and there is a patio with large umbrellas. We sat outside and absolutely loved it once I switched out the stained cushioned chair for a cleaner one. It is nothing like sitting outside downtown DC with a light breeze, background sounds of cars whizzing by, people talking and walking at a fast pace, and the weather was pleasant.
Prior to arriving at the restaurant, I viewed the menu online. I limited my selection to two antipasti and two entrees. Between the prime beef meatballs and calamari, I choose the calamari. We enjoyed the fried combination of squid and vegetables which included fried lemon which we could have done without. The calamari was light and crispy. We had it served with a red sauce (Pomodoro) and a creamy aioli, the Pomodoro tasted the best. I just wished the dish had more calamari minus the lemon.
For the entrée I chose between the mushroom risotto and Maine lobster ravioli. I ordered the ravioli and could have sworn I heard the server say it was served with a lobster stock, but it came with a tomato base that was overwhelming for the delicate lobster ravioli; it was so disappointing. I sent it back and replaced it with mushroom risotto. It tasted as if the rice, sauce, and other ingredients did not have time to blend and develop a good flavor. The rice was hard, the sauce had an odd taste. After two or three bites, I had enough and sent it back. My dining companion had spaghetti and meatball. The pasta was too thick and saturated in sauce. Also the meatball was very tender but more like mushy. He sent it back.
When I read the Yelp reviews for RPM, Yelpers raved about the cheesecake. I really wanted to try it but based on the meal, we decided to call it a night.
The place is freezing cold, waiter was inexperienced repeating the very long list of uninteresting specials of the day as if he were on a mission! Not to help us though. Some other kind of mission. Food portions very, very small and crab pieces were chewy. Bartender seemed inexperienced too. First Old Fashioned came without any orange peel. Ordered a second and reminded the waiter to please put orange: came with an orange wedge, not orange peel. Bad! Really bad and totally overpriced. By the way we live 3 blocks away, at Citycenter, so we are familiar with the area and its prices. But not for this lousy service and food!
Hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to in years! Delicious food! Our waiter Matt made our dining experience excellent.
Loved everything we ordered and our server Herald was wonderful and knowledgeable, providing great suggestions. We ordered the crimini mushroom pizzette with truffle and the 600 day prosciutto, were light yet decadent, the octopus had a great chat and the celery made it more memorable, the spicy crab pasta + gnochette were light and flavorful and the grilled prawns were so juicy. We also had the m drink and blueberry cheesecake.
Not a single bad dish in the bunch. Everything was flavorful and well-balanced. It made for a wonderful date night and birthday surprise.
We had such a great experience with our waiter, Tyler, and the food, that we went back the next night again! We were vacationing in DC and should’ve tried other restaurants but loved RPM so much we just had to go back!
The food and service were both phenomenal. We went for happy hour and ended up staying for dinner and dessert. We will definitely be returning for future occasions and date nights!
From the reservationist to the server, from the front of house to chef, a fantastic dining experience among a sea of steak restaurants in DC. Such a great vibe, friendly and professional staff. My favorite dish is the brussel sprout salad! Steaks and authentic pasta plates cooked to perfection.
This is a really great place! Glad chose this place for our group dinner. Every single item i tasted were delicious!
As always amazing food with a great service!
It was good, ambiance and service are good. Food was okay.
