RPM Italian - DC
Celebrated my 60th birthday at the restaurant with my family during January restaurant week. It was all of our fist time at the restaurant. We were all very pleased with our overall experience. The decor is a modern hip vibe. The service was great. The menu choices were extensive. Two of us ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, and the other two from the main menu. We had no complaints and my daughter has declared RPM her new favorite restaurant. Favorites included, the truffle garlic bread, the meatballs, shrimp scampi, and the salted chocolate budino. We will all be visiting again.
Food was incredible, especially for the price (we did go for the restaurant week menu). Relaxed atmosphere without losing that touch of an elegant, upscale vibe.
Came in for restaurant week. The antipasti and dessert was great, but was a bit underwhelmed by the pasta entrees. I got the Tortelli with truffle crema - the truffle was too overpowering and almost inedible. The bucatini was good but too al dente. Was a little disappointed cause I heard great things about this restaurant and was extremely excited to come in for dinner.
Service was good overall, although felt like the server kept reaching over us. He would say pardon my reach, but would still reach over before giving us a chance to acknowledge or react.
Had a great time at RPM. The service and food were wonderful. I will definitely be back.
Our second visit to RPM and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious... every single dish ... Bronzino, meatballs, truffle garlic bread, pasta carbonara , kale and spinach salad and more!!!! Can’t wait to return... oh and it was our daughters birthday... the mini ice cream cones were a beautiful touch!!
The food and service was excellent.
Went for restaurant week and the menu was available on a Saturday night which was awesome. The burrata, Meatballs, sea bass and sea salt chocolate dessert were standouts from the RW choices. I will be going back to try some of the regular offerings. Wines were also great. Service was good (we enjoyed our waiter) but we felt like the “bussers” were rushing us a bit. I wrote it off as it being a Saturday night but there was no wait so I’m not sure what the hurry was. Otherwise I highly recommend. Gulianna did an amazing job with her restaurant.
The food was great. Please try the eggplant parmigian, pistachio gelato and the haleznut tartufo! .. amazing
Didn’t like the wagyu carpaccio. Otherwise, everything was great!!
This was our 2nd visit and it was exactly how I remembered and more!!! The food was amazing and the service provided by our waiter, Hayward, matched. This is the best Italian restaurant in the DC metropolitan area! I plan to dine again soon!!!
Food was awesome. Service was exceptional! The server dropped a tray full of glass very close to our table. Immediately, the manager and other servers came over to make sure we were alright. Comped us desert because of the mishap.
Great dinner for restaurant week!
I went to RPM as part of restaurant week (which we decided to order off of the menu) because we saw other options we wanted to try. The food was delicious and the proportions were just right. Our waiter was very friendly and informative and helped us with our selections - I can’t remember his name.
Coworker lunch during restaurant week. It was busy but the waitress was really good, attentive, super jolly, and service was fast.
Enjoy restaurant week. The bar staff was the only part of the night that lacked. They left us waiting for drinks and to close my tab, couldn’t make my drink and offered zero input. Not because they were busy but they were talking. The hostess was great the server was great, courses were timed so well! Everything tasted amazing! So glad we checked it out!
My tortellini weren’t al dente, they were hard. Flavor was just ok. The meatballs were good, and dessert was delicious, but I wanted more from the pasta dishes.
We took advantage of restaurant week and enjoyed two incredible meals. The beet salad is DELICIOUS!
The food was delicious, but the service wasn’t great - which affected the overall rating of our visit today.
During restaurant week I attended the restaurant for lunch in the dining room and in the evening at the bar. The table in the dining room was fabulous, as it was one of the round banquettes in the end near the back bar. Fabulous service and as a chef, I was able to request a tour of the kitchen after the luncheon rush (2:20 pm). You don’t have to be a chef to ask for a tour of the kitchen but we foodies love to see behind the scenes. Chef Massimo gave a fabulous tour of their spectacular kitchen. He is kind, genial and so very welcome which is indicative of the town he grew up in Italy, Nocera Inferiore. He is simply tops and not crazy like many drama queen celebrity chefs.
Sean, our server, recommended the short ribs which were delicious. The Bolognese sauce is made with short rib meat. Also delicious. The cocktail waiter, has great tattoos and created a custom cocktail as I’m a big Absenthe fan- recipe: anisette, lemon juice, simple syrup. It was perfect. The Super Tuscan wine was delicious. As was the Montepulciano Abruzzo was also paired perfectly for the restaurant week menu.
The team is very well trained and staffed. Security, expedited, attentive staff- all loyal to the Chef who again is simply lovely. My new favorite chef in DC. No wonder all the Caps hockey players love the restaurant which is close to the arena. A well oiled trained service staff. The contemporary interior is lovely but if eat at the bar it can be very noisy when patrons are highly animated and chatting etc. (Read: kinda noisy in which case get a table in the dining room).
The whole day was magical.
