Food was excellent, service was not rushed and the staff were polite and pleasant. The menu was very varied with plenty of choice as was the drinks list. There was plenty of space between the tables but masks seemed to be lacking. They appeared to be busy with take aways which might explain the gaps between courses but this was not an issue for me.
My lamb jalfrezi was really tasty. Unfortunately my boyfriend ordered a lamb massala but received a chicken massala instead but it was still tasty
Deffinately the freshest and tastiest food around.
The early bird is great value.
Utterly brilliant New year's Eve dinner... We went in for an early meal and ended up staying til midnight..
A brilliant Michael Jackson Tribute singer entertained and the owner dragged us out of the corner to get a better view
The food and service were perfect as ever, but the unexpected treat made this the best New Year Eve for years.
Lovely food as we've had in the past. Great service and good atmosphere. Will be back.
Previous visit had been amazing so we were looking forward to returning. Sadly the service on this occasion was appalling.
We arrived at 6.30pm and did not receive our food until gone 8pm. I think around 8.15pm. Not a word of apology.
No smiles or warm greeting when we arrived either.
I understand they were busy but a simple warning or explanation to us would have been appreciated. Such a shame about the service as the food was great.
Not easy to wait that long with a child and two OAPS in our group!
Always great food and service, staff are always happy to offer advice on different dishes
Delicious food, Great staff, friendly & the right amount of attention.
One of the best places to eat in Bishop Stortford.
Another fabulous meal at Rubys! Great service as always 😁
Bad service, ridiculous loud, hot, unprofessional, food low quality.. blamed on being too busy.. that is not an excuse!! Don’t take as many customers if you cannot manage.. definitely won’t be back and will tell friends not to visit.. so many better places on Stortford!!
Fabulous as always !
Best Indian around !
Restaurant and take away always great.
Food was very good, although quite expensive compared to other places in Bishops Stortford. Flickering light above our table wasn’t ideal either. Overall very solid.
Just what we needed…..
Our waiter was so helpful, I am very fussy so he went through the menu and suggested a few things I would never of picked !!!
Wow dinner was beautiful, so tasty….just look at the photos !!!!
So I will always ask now !!!!
Thank you Ruby’s x
The hubby was happy with his vintage wine x
Had a lovely meal here, the staff were very helpful and attentive. Atmosphere was great and the price was very reasonable too, I will definitely be dining here again!
Wow I just ate the best curry I’ve had in ages! It was a beef curry with a cashew nut gravy and spice, not your run of the mill flavors and a wonderful new experience. We both loved the king prawn puri starter and the service was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND RUBYS
Rubys restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
Great staff and a pleasant ambience when we ate here on a Tuesday evening. The tasty food is well cooked and presented . The specials look all worth trying our lamb and chicken dishes with the chilli sambar were fantastic. An enjoyable step up the scale from a local curry restaurant. Well worth a visit, looking forward to going back again soon
Music was like sitting in a club lounge, not sure it was the atmosphere we were after as a couple. We're placed down a side area with very echoey walls and loud groups. Had to ask three times to take our order.
The service was poor and my friend had a glass of water spilt over her
Nice place. Great food very tasty, large portions too!
My family had a great meal, the food is delicious and we did enjoy it except when we've finished our food a bald waiter came to our table and speak to us very rude and unfriendly. All the waiters are very friendly and polite except. It's a shame, our experience is all perfect except that bald waiter.
This our the first time we are in the restaurant, usually we only had take away. I think we will stick to take away.
Great atmosphere amazing food!! The staff are very friendly what more could you ask for 10/10!!
Nice meal with the family on my birthday. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks team
Absolutely disgraceful treatment at Ruby’s (unfriendly) Indian Restaurant. Went for my husbands birthday, had a Red Letter Days voucher. Got seated and I nicely told the rude stand off ish waiter that I had a voucher and he said we don’t take it. I said okay I spoke twice to someone once was Thursday here who told me you did and to bring my voucher with etc. The waiter in the restaurant said to me no you didn’t. Basically he is calling me a liar! Charming right!!! I even said I’m show him my phone records. How dare someone call me a liar. Utterly unacceptable and embarrassing in front of others. So we left. The mad thing is had he of just left it as I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding we actually would of stayed and paid for a meal. He didn’t give a damn that he had lost a customer and upset us. We drove 45 minutes to get there, hardly a local for us. But nope, didn’t care. Business is business right. Awful, awful experience.
Again fantastic, food is always spot on, we tried a few new dishes, mashed potatoes and biryani in a pot with a Nan bread lid,,,,,, amazing
Food spot on. Service great. What more could you ask for?
Fantastic menu, never had a bad meal choice here. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Only drawback is you have to be patient. The desert menu is typically freezer based but if you have a starter you’ll be too stuffed to manage one anyway!
When there last night the 4 of us for a nice meal.
Really disappointed service was really bad , short staffed without a doubt and it wasn’t even full. Had to ask 3 times for a drink then they forgot again. Couldn’t even get anyone to take our money let alone the bill.
Noise level was unbelievable couldn’t hear each other across the table , or even the person next to me we were shouting at each other. My wife came out with headache very stressful and a waste of money on a Friday eve with friends . We won’t be going back and I will let all my friends know how bad it was.
Iam not a person to moan but this was terrible.
Excellent food and service, really enjoy eating at rubys
Great food. Love the tandoori paneer and sheek kebab.
Excellent waiter advised on dishes, superbly getting what we wanted. Super fresh bindi
Love the place, except the weird percussion music
This has now become my Indian restaurant of choice. Food, ambience absolutely fantatstic.
Fabulous food as usual. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Our favourite Indian restaurant.
First time at Ruby’s , will definitely be returning , the whole restaurant experience was amazing , food was beautiful .
Overall a good experience
Food was excellent, buzzing atmosphere. Will definitely book again.
A very good restaurant with good service and excellent food.
Absolutely stunning food. Everything was cooked perfectly but the mushroom baji was outstanding. We will definitely return!
Food was lovely full of flavour and good quality. Our first time of visiting but will definitely return.
Enjoyed food had a good time.
Would recommend going
Food and service excellent. Only downside probably out of the management's control, - a very loud group of people near us
