I love this restaurant but I was disappointed in the food when I had dinner there earlier in the week. This could only be down to the fact that the main chef was on holiday though I have found it to be a bit hit and miss in the past. They are changing their name to 43 but it is still owned and managed by the same people. But I will be going back as it has become a treasured local mainly because of their wonderful waiter, Jose.
A little expensive and some of the food was a bit bland. Pasta dishes better than fish dishes.
We’ve had great takeout from Rullo’s before by this is the first time we have eaten in. The food was good but they weren’t equipped to deal with a busy Saturday night and we spent some time waiting. Luckily the company was good. They had also sold out of our preferred started and dessert.
Probably would go back but not on a Saturday night.
I have emailed the restaurant directly we have been many times before and felt very rushed and unwelcome this time
Good simple food and nice staff
New Years Day 1st January is always a difficult one. Service was OK. we had a bit of a wait.
Chips were not crispy and the Deep fried Courgettes disappointing. Main courses were good but on previous visits we thought the food was better.
Thank you. Everything was amazing
Nice, quiet space for a dinner for 2! The wild tuna was excellent.
This is one of my favourite restaurants. The waiters are friendly and the food is fabulous.
Wow is what I always feel when I come here. I am very fussy about where my food is sourced and this is one of the only places locally I feel comfort in knowing the food is made fresh on site! The staff are attentive and the ambiance is just perfect. Lovely food and wine thanks rullos
Wow! Such a little gem in North West London. Great food, incredible service and lovely atmosphere. The manager really looked after my friends and I.
The Ragu is to die for as is the sea bass. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks Rullos!
Having visited for the second time I have been disappointed on both occasions. The staff are not particularly attentive and most importantly the food is very bland, seriously under seasoned and luke warm. Also annoying things like low quality wine, no ice buckets, and cheap pepper grinders not peppercorns make for a very average “Italian” experience, not to mention the woefully poor dessert menu.
Tonight our sides came out after we’d finished mains, and despite mentioning the poor experience and taste, was only offered a free dessert (not something we wanted), and when we said no thanks the service charge was removed (which we would have also done and should be discretionary charge anyway).
Sadly there is not much competition in the area yet, but my wife, friends and I won’t be returning again, and suggest others venture further to West Hampstead or Notting hill and bypass this area as it’s very average at best.
Shame as there is real potential for good restaurants in the area...
Excellent meal and service as always. Definitely will be back
Everything you want in a neighborhood italian and then some. Incredible homemade pasta. Super friendly staff.
THe other half loves this place and so I was happy to take her back for her belated b'day celebration. Definitely would recommend this to lovers of straight up Italian cuisine done well!
Really tasty Italian food and great service with a smile. We’ll definitely be going again!
We used to go quite often and found ourselves here for sunday lunch after aboit five months of not visiting. What a difference, gone are the lovely daily specials/pastas. The portion sizes along with prices have come down although not sure why as was very good value before, menu seems more cheap and cheerful now much like a carrlucios versus outstanding unique italian dishes. Eg plain calamari and mayo dip is a far cry from their previous calamari starter dish.
Waiters have always been friendly and fantastic and we found only one taking care of the entire place rushed off his feet. Wine list has also changed and not for the better .
Hot night. Cool garden. But I miss Goaia. Best waitress ever
Really like this place. Busy and buzzing with good food. Staff very friendly. Lovely evening with friends.
Lovely friendly staff great service. Will be back soon.
Lovely authentic food, a pretty little courtyard to sit outside at the back of the restaurant and very friendly customer service.
If you don't know Rullo's, you really should check it out. A beautifully designed space with outdoor garden and wonderful service especially by my favourite waitress Gioia. The new Italian chef turns out masterpieces of delight!
We had a moderate meal I had pasta with Vongole (clams) They were the smallest clams I have ever seen so I obviously chose the wrong thing Nice place and lovely people but the food and wine disappointing
Though one of the waiters explained one of the dishes a bit incorrectly, service was great and attentive. The place looks nice and cosy, inside and outside, they have a good wine list and great food. The only things I would comment on are the lights outside, which are a bit low, and the pasta dishes, which were made very well but a bit too delicate for my rough Italian taste.
Anyway, we will definitely go again.
We 're immense trying the fried squid, the tartare and the desserts.
Ate here again this week and the food and service was as good as ever.
Nice local Italian rustic restaurant. The service was friendly although a little erratic at times. Our starters of squid and zucchini fritti were tasty. The chicken for main course was delicious, however my friend's spaghetti vongole was a small portion and not so tasty.
The deserts were excellent too - especially the lemon semi freddo. Overall very good - however on a Saturday night it was packed and extremely noisy with large groups of friends.
I would recommend it for good Italian food in lively surroundings.
Food and service were excellent. It was a Monday night so very quiet. Outstanding meal for a local restaurant.
This second visit was to celebrate my birthday with friends and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Warm Italian service, great atmosphere, delicious food, really well presented, light years away from spag bol, totally unpretentious.
We had the most fabulous meal here during the week made even better by the wonderful waitress Gioa who went to endless effort during our evening. I dont really want to post this as I want this neighbourhood gem to be kept a secret so I can always get a table! But if you want a real treat - the food is amazing - go here. It is reasonably priced too.
Just lovely. Great food cooked and served well in a friendly environment. Excellent value for money.
Great ambience. They were a bit busy on a weeknight. Service slightly slow, but food was great, atmosphere great, friendly. Would definitely recommend.
I have always had wonderful meals at Rullo's so I took a friend for a welcome home meal. My pacchero was delicious as always but his pacchero with cod must have had about half a tbs of cod in it, plus one olive and 3 tomatoes. It was very disappointing.
Food was slightly above average. We ordered salads as starters which were relatively tasteless but the staff were very attentive and good ambience
We visited Rullos for the fifth occasion on Saturday evening, and can honestly say that we have enjoyed our visit each and every time. The food is consistently good, authentic Italian cuisine. Excellent clean fresh food for a fair price. Service was excellent, and everything was of a great standard. Look forward to eating here again.
Really nice and intimate. My wife loved it. We were indicisive about the wine so the waiter gave us samples which was really helpful. For 2 meals and a bottle of bubble we paid £88.
Visited Saturday lunchtime with two girlfriends. We had a wonderful meal looked after by super attentive staff. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. If you haven’t been yet, make a booking soon!
Lovely food and nice relaxed setting. Charming service. Food came especially slowly but think this was because restaurant was full with some large tables.
Lovely place with nice Italian food. Desserts are great.
The atmosphere and service were very good, but let down by the squid starter which was as tough as can be. The pasta dishes were fresh and tasted of Italy albeit the linguine was lacking in promised clams. We’re local so will be back but hoping for a better and consistent overall experience next time.
Rullo's is a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant, terrific food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. One of our favorites!
