Brianna was amazing as a waitress and We had a fabulous evening with amazing food
The food was just ok. The chicken and avocado flatbread was nice, as was the lamb croquettes, hispi cabbage and halloumi fries. But the lamb cannon was very underseasoned with lumpy mash and the chicken burger was dry and lacked flavour.
But the worse thing was the terrible service. All the food arrived at the same time despite being told it would be staggered - and the table was too small to fit everything on. Then after we'd finished eating, no one bothered to clear our table even though the restaurant was half empty. The dirty plates were still on the table when we left. The service was very inattentive - it took several attempts to get someone's attention to ask for something, and after getting the bill we then spent another 20 mins trying to get someone's attention to pay it.
A really negative experience - and the food wasn't good enough to save it.
Lamb burger was nice but messy. Would have preferred chunky chips etc and brunch menu didn’t have halloumi fries 😕
Gorgeous decorations, delicious food and friendly staff!
Outstanding - a real revelation. Every dish we tried was very tasty indeed, beautifully cooked. Some deliciously aromatic flavours. The wine was superb and great value, and the service was very friendly, responsive and attentive. Definitely returning!
Really lovely meal and cocktails and lovely service!
The service was excellent though it was not busy whilst we were there. The food was generally tasty though consistently small portions; probably not surprising as the word 'mezze' applies! My partner is from Lebanon and is very picky about food, especially deriving from his home region! I would go back though did feel that it was quite expensive for what we got. Take care about the cocktails: the one I chose was flavoursome but again small and not particularly strong given it cost £8.
I went with three friends to Saffron, it was myself who choose to go there but all my friends agreed it was a good call. The service was fantastic and the restaurant itself is clean, fresh and looks beautiful. The food was fantastic, we all had something different and we were all very pleased with what we ordered. The cauliflower buffalo wings were a big hit with the four of us. I unfortunately was the designated driver so I didn’t get to taste the many different cocktails but my friends said they were a big hit. I would definitely recommend you go and check Saffron out.
Great service both times food not quite hot enough for me but I will definitely be back.
Beautifully cooked food. Excellent staff. Will be going back.
Class food and great service, good location to get to as well. Very happy with our experience
Food and service were exemplary
First time visiting Saffron. It was a great menu, some lovely items that were adequately priced, and inventive. The food itself was nice, although some of the items ordered could have been better - the blackened salmon and the cannon of lamb - the sides and flatbreads were incredibly delicious.
Unfortunately, we weren't great fans of the cocktail selection. We ordered 4 to start the meal, and all of them were very poor. The prosecco based cocktail was flat, the tequila-based cocktail was so strong it made you wince, and the rose and saffron cocktail was overpowering and sickly. If we returned, we would order from the wine selection instead.
All in all, for a new restaurant, there are definitely things to iron out, but the quality of the service, the general ambience, and the ambition of the menu would make me recommend it to friends.
Food was pretty good (though the saffron cocktail was the best moment of the evening) and staff were very nice, clearly working hard. There was a bit of a delay on our food but they kept us informed so all good.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Staff were excellent and food just as good. Definitely recommend.
Amazing food and drinks , lovely staff💖
Food was amazing, service was friendly and we were well looked after. Got free desserts because of a slight delay on our food coming out which was so nice and really made the evening! We did notice that their food lift was broken and they were having to run up and down the stairs so kudos to them all.
Great service and absolutely stunning food!!
Really chilled environment and lovely food. The girl that served us was really lovely and very accommodating too.
Limited wine list white not chilled. Cans of beer. Limited choice. interesting menu. Eclectic. humus lovely staff very good Flat bread got chewy very quickly Toppings were good although a bit sparse. Asked if i would recommend? 🤔
Good atmosphere. Good service. Food was good except for the grilled octopus which was poor - overcooked and overpriced.
Some decent dishes on the menu, in particular the monkfish and the lamb were fantastic, really great spicing in both.
Service a little hectic, and table sizes far too small for what is designed as meze/sharing.
Would benefit from less bright interior to set a more intimate mood, music choice not great for dining.
The staff at Saffron were extremely attentive and happy to help with anything despite how busy the restaurant was. The food was delicious, came promptly and the drinks were great. The only downside was how quickly the hour and a half went past, however, completely understandable for a Saturday night so may go on a quieter day in future.
Fantastic food and service was great. Definitely will be back
Lovely food and staff were exceptional! Very friendly, knowledgeable and personable. Felt very comfortable.
Great food, really lovely staff! Would definitely recommend to friends & family
We went here for brunch on Sunday, and everything was really great! The staff were really accommodating and attentive, without being overbearing.
The food was also really good - although I would now like to try their lunch/dinner menu. We were sitting inside so couldn’t have alcohol, but the cocktail menu looked appealing as well.
All round a fab little place, and can’t wait to visit again!
We stumbled across saffron by chance, looking for a last minute outdoor booking to celebrate a special occasion. Wonderful service, delicious food (great veggie and vegan options too) and a lovely cocktail and mocktails menu. Overall, a wonderful afternoon, and great value too. Will definitely visit again!
I really wanted to love Saffron because I love this style of food and the menu sounded incredible from reading it. The service was a little odd on the day we went- someone came to ask if we’d like drinks to start with upon arrival and we ordered some coffees and asked for water for the table too. The water didnt appear until close to the end of the meal despite enquiring after it just as the food was arriving and again when we were checked on while eating. One of our dishes and a side dish we’d ordered to share arrived about ten minutes before the other three so they were only just warm by the time we all tucked in. The food itself was hit and miss- the smoked salmon flat bread I had was tasty but not nearly deserving of the £9 price tag, and the pancakes had by my 3 friends were really dry and hard in texture- not soft and fluffy as the name “soufflé pancakes” would suggest, with overly sweet raspberry toppings. I am praying this is early days teething problems because I was so excited for a new local restaurant that would cater to my love for Middle Eastern food, so I will definitely be back in a while to see if this was a once off and maybe try some other things from the menu.
The waiting staff could not have been any more helpful and charming. I had the soufflé pancakes with raspberry & s’mores, which I found to be a little underwhelming but still tasty, and a nice flavour combination. The pancakes would just have been a bit better had they been a little lighter and fluffier.
Food is fabulous! We came for lunch and had the chicken shawarma flatbread, buttermilk chicken burger and cauliflower wings and were completely stuffed. Everything was delicious but the wings were amazing! A great little place we’ll definitely try for dinner too
We went for some small plates of food and flatbreads. They were very tasty, the drinks were good and the service was excellent
Stunning service, food and location - second time visiting and definitely won't be the last
We had delicious small plates to share. Plenty of choice for non meat eaters, plus interesting drinks. Really friendly staff.
Delicious food and lovely staff, would definitely come back to try more.
Lovely food and great options on the brunch menu. Booked in for dinner next time it was that good.
The food was amazing, the staff were incredibly friendly. We’ll definitely be back to work our way through the menu!
We had an early dinner here. A warm welcome from the host and friendly service from all staff. The food arrived quickly. We had classic flatbread to start which was delicious then a couple of small plates each. There was a good choice of dishes, plenty of veggie options and portions were generous (we probably didn't need the side order on top) and we thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. We'll definitely be back. Would be a great choice for a quick lunch as well as for dinner.
Went for lunch and it was just a bit underwhelming. Lacklustre brunch menu for lunch - my friend didn’t eat her burger she was that disappointed. Hot chocolates were cold. No pudding menu. Might be better for dinner but lunch was a disappointment. Shame because the restaurant is owned by the same folk that run The Little Bakery in South Queensferry and it’s brilliant there. Won’t be returning to Saffron.
The food was excellent but I didn’t feel comfortable being sat so close to other diners. No screens were in place and tables are fairly close.
