Sagardi Shoreditch strays slightly off the traditional Sunday Roast path offering quality and authentic produce mainly from the North of Spain. Carefully selected meat, fish and seasonal vegetables from our own farmhouse gardens. Set in a relaxed, casual and friendly surrounding with exposed ceilings, wooden furniture and concrete floors to mirror a true experience of the Basque country: 2 courses £26 I 3 courses £30.

For the amount I paid for wasn’t much food. The sides are small to share between two. Steak was nicely cooked again way too priced. Staff where very nice place is nice I suppose that’s what you pay for.

the aged steak was great and the seasonal Pimiento Tomato was the totally star of the night. we ordered twice. Will come back for the Hongos season to tast of Basque again.

It is a bit overpriced for what it was, and the service wasn't the best - they forgot to take our order and served the couples around us before us, even though we had been sat there for a while. During the whole evening it did feel a bit like the wait staff either forgot we were there, or weren't bothered about service us. It wasn't overly busy so that can't have been the excuse. It was fine, but am in no hurry to go back. What saved it was that the steak was good (though again a little overpriced considering how much of it we actually got).

Very disappointing experience overall. The photos didn’t really match the experience, the waitress who sat us down was very nice though, otherwise, we got the £64 5 course diner offer with the FT, the 4 plates all had exactly the same seasoning, olive oil and that s it, the food itself was good because it s fresh products, but it lacked flavors, yes the olive oil was nice but I expect to be experiencing something new and different which wasn’t the case. On of the waiters was trying to be nice and helpful but you could tell that we were annoying when we were really just asking some help with the wine and then we made the mistake to ask for bread to another waiter and he wasn’t very happy because the bread was supposed to be served with the next plate... I felt like I had to apologize and told them that I would be happy to pay for extra bread. So yes not a great service at all, really felt like we were annoying the waiters, when I asked if it was possible to have cheese instead of th dessert they had to escalate to their manager to know if it was possible which they btw kindly accepted but again felt like we were asking to move mountains. Wine was good enough and not terrible expensive for such a place. Long story short, not worth the expansive bill we thought.

Always a great dinner at Sagardi whether for date night or for a business dinner. Excellent meats, wine selection and friendly service. Fine cuts and great wine are not inexpensive. These guys get it right.

A super dinner with wonderful service. Staff were keen to talk about the food and the recommended wines were well-matched. As you would expect the beef was succulent and tender. We had the set menu and I was a little worried that the Cornish squid would not be to my taste, but it was delicious.

Wonderful Basque food, delicious steak on the bone and seafood. Oxtail rated best ever by our NYC foodies. Excellent wine recommendations by the head waiter- who directed me to the more reasonable wines despite me pointing at the extensive ones!

We went for a dinner with a party of 10. The food was outstanding. It is best if you are a proper carnivore as their beef cuts are out of this world. The best pieces are quite chunky (and meant to be shared), so - unless you're very, very hungry - may be too large for two.

They have a very extensive wine list with some rarer finds from the Basque region of Spain.

Cheap it ain't but worth it! I'll be back.

Excellent evening again at Sagardi, the quality of the food / cooking is superb to serve simple and authentic basque dishes - in particular the aged beef cooked on charcoal
The wine list is also extensive and I've not had a bad bottle to-date
Service as always is friendly , casual and genuine
In terms of atmosphere, whilst the restaurant is fine, it's the lack of customers at times that can make it feel less of an occasion but the points above always make up for that
Pricing wise, it's not a cheap night out but never less than enjoyable for the food and drink being served

This restaurant has got lots of potential, because both the food and the ambiance are really nice. However, despite this, it is not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone, simply because, as it happened with the friends I dragged there, I would feel too responsible for the extortionate prices that I would make them pay for food that does not have that value.

I was aware that it was not cheap (I had read previous reviews), but I don't mind paying, as long as I believe the value of what the restaurant is offering is fair. For example, the amount of work that goes in the kitchen of a Michelin star restaurant is enormous so neither me, nor my friends, are annoyed if we are charged high prices for a dish. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. The prices are extortionately high for things that have very little value. For example, a plate with two baby lettuce sliced in half (10 seconds of work), plus 4 anchovies on the top (another 10 seconds), with a bit of olive oil dressing, is priced at £14 (when service is added to that, it goes to £16!).

The BBQ meat, I agree, is fantastic, but be prepared to pay a fortune. We paid £70 (plus service) for the cheapest steak, which hardly fed two.

On the plus side: the mash potato is the best I ever had.

As a summary, if this restaurant wants to get it right, it should half the prices of virtually everything, except for, maybe, the meat.

I had previously been to the Sagardi restaurant in Barcelona and had a great time - so I was very excited to hear that they had opened a restaurant in Shoreditch.

We booked a table for 7 work colleagues on a Tuesday evening and had an amazing time.

Our waiters were brilliant and recommended some very good wines and really good food. We had a mix of meat lovers and fish fans amongst our group and all were left replete.

My particular favourite was the stuffed baby squid cooked in its own ink.

A great time was had by all of us and the office has been buzzing since. I'm looking forward to going again.

A gem of a place with the best Basque food outside of Spain. Outstanding food and great service make this a must go place for anyone who is serious about steak. The Pinxtos are all excellent provide a ton of variety.

We visited on the first Sunday they have ever done a roast dinner and were blown away. For a restaurant that specialises in Spanish cuisine, their take on a traditional Sunday roast was amazing. Really really tasty and a perfect size portion for adults. Delicious beef at the centre of the roast, with perfect potatoes and Yorkshire puds. A selection of veggies on the side too. Amazing value for what we got and to top it all, the service was really friendly and fast. Will definitely revisit

Beautiful ambience and decoration although very noisy given restaurant fives preference to large groups. The Basque barbaque is amazingly tasty and will set you back around £75 for two people. The service is aloof, poor and slow. The manager had to be called twice to the table given the waitresses could not answer basic questions. A real shame given the place has potential.

Excellent restaurant that I came across by accident.
I wasn't expecting much since it's in Shoreditch but the interior is fantastically airy and not crowded with tables. Lovely open grill area you can watch the meats being cooked.

The prices are fairly high but not excessive considering the quality.

Service was faultless. Our server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine lists.

We had tuna tartar, tomato bread and black pudding to start. In general this was ok except for it being very salty. We both had cod for main course and some grilled peppers. The cod was basically inedible, very chewy and unpleasant. Sent back one dish and left the other barely touched. Manager was nice and knew the menu. Lots of other staff had to defer to him to answer questions. We had to point out the cod wasn't taken off the bill. Overall a poor dining experience.
