Sagardi boast an impressive open Basque grill showcasing grill masters char-grilling the famous “txuleton” beef steak from northern Spain, fresh wild fish from trusted sea ports and seasonal vegetables from their own gardens.
The restaurant’s red meats are carefully selected from the mature, fattened setters and cows whilst at their peak in flavour (min 6 yrs old). This incredible tasting meat comes to life with its uniquely clean and distinctive flavours with the land, milk and grass all shining through.

They forgot our in side dishes. We were compensated with a glass of cava but that is kind of the last thing you want after a load of beef

Due to tier 2 restrictions it was really quiet inside (we were a family of 5) and we feel really sorry for the restaurant as they have complied with all Covid regulations and it felt very safe, socially distanced and impossible to catch Covid.
Will definitely return when tier 3 restrictions are lifted.
Always love the Sagardi in Shoreditch and also the ones in Barcelona. One of my favourite restaurant in the world :)
Had a lovely evening, enjoying the best Monkfish I've ever tasted and a perfectly matched wine. Super attentive staff who were very knowledgeable about the food and wine, and its origins. We will be back for more!
Overall an excellent night. The food is amazing as well as the service from the staff (special mention to Mark for going above and beyond). Only negative was table close to the door so breezy at times. That aside can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

We kept it simple with blood sausage being the star of the show, closely followed by oxtail, unctuous and delicious, great food at a reasonable price
Amazing meat!
Service was amazing. We were greeted straightway when we walked in and then knowledged by all staff who walked passed us.
The menu was explained to us in detail and we were helped with making choices.
Food was AMAZING! meat was lovely and tender and sliced like butter.
Only complaint would be about the bread. Although the bread was lovely we paid £2.50 for 2 pieces which I found wasn't enough.
Overall we had an amazing experience and would 100% go back and recommend very highly.

Totally oversold and completely underwhelmed by this supposed Basque restaurant, it’s nothing of the sought as going to a real one in Donostia wouldn’t leave you feeling hungry a couple of hours after a 2 course Sunday meal.
No bread, no complimentary olives nothing, just ridiculously overpriced food in tiny portions. Most bizarre was the pouring of a minuscule amount soup out of a small china vessel into my bowl at my table - I mean what is all that about?
Lastly, we waited an eternity for our mains after our starter and when it did come, the vegetables were cold.
The restaurant itself was nice looking but it was uncomfortably silent - no atmosphere at all. The staff were good.
I was so looking forward to eating here hence the strong review.

Second time I have been to Sagardi and the first time (pre-pandemic and a Saturday evening) was excellent. Some of the best steak in town.
But Sunday lunch last week was much less successful. The main course beef took time because they had run out and then it arrived cold. Accompanying vegetables were also cold and tasteless. They had also run out of the pumpkin soup starter and offered thistle soup instead. It was inedible, as you might expect.
Service is tricky with face masks, etc, but felt particularly uninspiring this time round.
This used to be a place I would recommend to anybody in the Shoreditch area, but now I am not so sure.
Outstanding food and service, will definitely be coming back and 100% be recommending to friends. Steak was amazing!!!
Great meal in a great restaurant, we loved it and will definitely eat there again. The only things that let it down was the intermittent service, our waitress was lovely but it was pretty difficult to get hold of her to order more drinks and ultimately pay.

2nd visit. Rather disappointing and very overpriced food. Nasty aggressive pickles as an amuse bouche. Clams (£22!) were in a claggy and unpleasant sauce. Salad (at £5) was just basic iceberg swimming in oil. They upsell the expensive steaks very heavily. Very friendly and efficient service and a nice dining room.
Great steak and the tomato salad was amazing.

A lovely restaurant with a fantastic set up for COVID eating out. They treated us with upmost respect for hygiene. The food was amazing and well presented and we were looked after amazingly. Would recommend.
Service was great, food was full of flavour, however, squid and steak a little over priced based on the quality (a little chewy) but will still go back

I really enjoyed our time at your restaurant. However, I'd like to make one comment about your testing menu: it was 52 GBP and we were sure that would be for the whole menu for 2 people and not for each of us.
If I had known or if your staff had explained it we would have never chosen it as it wasn't worth it.

Great dinner, really enjoyed. However, you could see that they were short of staff as everyone was running . But the food is really good .
Quality of my main was not great especially since the speciality of the restaurant is steak. Also my 2nd order did not arrive. Took 20 min to get the bill.

Waiters and kitchen staff were just hanging around and chatting, there were only about 5 tables that needed to be served, but took time to get the waiters attention, I had to leave my table and go to the bar just to order, The food itself was not good, that may be just down to ordering a Spanish Sunday roast, I’ll come back again and try the Tapas.
