Welcoming atmosphere, friendly yet professional service, and outstanding food. We did not sample any appetizers or desserts. My wife had the seared diver scallops over grilled polenta and sauteed spinach. The lobster cream sauce drizzled over the scallops (5 if I remember correctly) was delicious. I enjoyed the rack of lamb. The demi-glace was to die for! We shared a salad with a house-made vanilla vinaigrette. All their dressings are house-made and the selection was extensive. We would highly recommend Sage to anyone. Good attention to detail.

Pleasant dining experience, food was good, setting was enjoyable. Not going to top my list of all-time restaurants because nothing gave me the "wow" factor, but overall, a nice dining experience. 7/10.

Delicious dinner, delightful server, as well as interesting cocktails and wines to experience. We only wish for the very nicely cooked duck they might have swapped out the disappointing rice side for something more fitting such as a turnip purée. Maybe next time (and we will be back).

Everything from the drinks to the food to the service and the cozy yet modern interior was superb. We had both vegan and fish dishes and all were excellent. This is a definitely a place that we will return to many times.

vegan spaghetti &meatballs was truly different and delicious.
Creme brûlée and lemon cake desserts were great.
Adequate pandemic distancing and precautions.

So glad to back at a restaurant - particularly this one that we’ve enjoyed in the past. Friendly, safe, great ambiance, and fantastic food at reasonable prices with a wide variety of price points on the menu. Signature paella was awesome as were the diver scallops. Professional but not stuffy service. This place is such a great asset to the Mad River Valley and should be supported by all who care about that special place!

The waitstaff were all very nice, but the service missed the mark a bit. For example, there were no place settings (silverware) on the table. When we asked for some, they didn't bring napkins or spoons for the soup. Not a huge deal. The food itself was overall okay, but not excellent. The best part was the fresh house salad. The mussels were served with very stale bread. My partner's vegan meatballs were very dry. For the price, the whole experience was lackluster, though the ambience is comfortable and the drinks tasty. I might give Sage another shot, but only because I know every restaurant has a bad night every so often.

This was our first time dining at Sage and we were pleasantly surprised. From our apps (clam chowder) to our main courses (scallops & and seared duck breast) to dessert (chocolate bomb) everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. And the service was spot-on - attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend.

Our first time there and really enjoyed the experience. Although our server was new service was excellent and unhurried and no obtrusive. The bartender did an excellent job on selecting a bourbon fo the Manhattan.
We will be back next time in town!

We're fans of Sage. Its owners understand The Valley and created a place offers a diverse menu of well prepared dishes at reasonable prices. It's lively without being too loud and service is good.

The menu offered so many great options. We shared everything from two appetizers to two meals to two desserts - and not a bite left to eat nor take home. We have several vegan family members and they were excited to hear you have 3 vegan meals to select from and we know they are coming with us next time. Drinks - glass of wine and Bar Hill gin martini were delicious too. Becka (not sure of spelling - sorry) was fabulous too. Just a great evening and for coming out to a sit down restaurant it felt safe, clean and well cared for. Way to go Sage!

This is our second time going to Sage. Had great food, service and loved the feel of the restaurant. Had the paella it was one of the best I have ever had.

Ambiance led the way. Our server was great! The hostess was great! But the chef didn't have a great night. The swordfish was well under cooked like it was meant to be tuna. They swiftly and very kindly eplaced the dish with the Sea Bass which also was under cooked. We are frequent diners out and are not food snobs by any measure. The Paella was very good though a couple of the mussels I couldn't open. Believe it or not we will return. Think it was just a bad night. The ambiance is spectacular!

My daughter and I grabbed dinner here while skiing at Sugarbush. We almost canceled because we were tired but boy are we glad we didn't. Food was outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful, great backdrop to the food. We had Mediterranean toast, Greek salad, and sea scallops on baked polenta. Every dish was perfect: taste, presentation, and creativity. I will be back. I wish we had this restaurant in Newport, RI.

MY FAMILY ENJOYED OUR DINNER AT SAGE. THE BEEF SHORT RIB WAS TENDER AND MEATY. THE PAELLA WAS A GENEROUS PORTION ,FILLED WITH LOTS OF SHRIMP , CHORIZO ETC. MY 5 YEAR OLD ENJOYED HIS CHICKEN TENDERS WITH FRIES, WHICH WASN’T ON THE MENU, SO ASK FOR CHILDREN’S OPTIONS. THE STAFF HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. FELT VERY SAFE THANKS TO THE DISTANCING OF TABLES.

Food was innovative and executed well. The calamari with octopus was yummy and a nice change to the typical appetizer. The server, Melissa, was attentive and prompt. The owner was available and eager to answer questions. The prices were reasonable. We will definitely go back when we are next in VT.

A nice space, good and varied menu with reasonably priced food. Service was friendly and responsive it not overly experienced. Definitely will go back when I’m the area.
