Sakei dim sum lunch is normally quite good. This time we go for dinner and very disappointed. The chicken dish were worse than ordinary take away. It’s getting quite expensive for mediocre food.
Decent dim sum, popular with the local crowd. Their beef black bean horfun is good, a fair portion, horfun not broken up like in other restaurants, and not too oily.
Very poor customer service. Manger on the floor very unwilling to compromise. Simply cared about her own pocket rather than the customers experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone attending with more than 1 person. The only thing that saved this restaurant from a 1 star was that the food wasn’t awful.
Good food and good service
My only complaint is we found the TV screens continuously showing a loop promoting the restaurant distracting. Turn them off in the dining area please.
Only negative would be that it could do with a refurbishment, chairs look dated, carpet tatty and bumpy, wouldn’t put me off though as the service is quick and the food is lovely. Staff friendly :)
Quality of food was good before but it dropped a lot during my most recent visit. Most were salty and some dim sums were not the same thing as I knew them traditionally. The waitress and the kitchen got forgot about our order and got it wrong for 2 times - all happened on the same order - so wrong that it’s hard to understand how it happened.
Every bit of the food is so tasty, delicious and good prices
As always, great food and presentation. We asked chef to alter a lamb dish for my young daughter who doesn't eat some of the sources - the dish was cooked wonderfully . Many thanks.
Dirty and very run down. Extremely poor service food was just dumped on the edge of the table. We won’t be back.
Great food . Staff hang around the table a lot making you feel you need to eat quickly.
Me and my friend booked this restaurant as we were staying in the Holiday Inn Express next door and going to a concert at the 02 Arena very close by. Rather than have fast food at the arena we thought we would have a lovely meal as part of a special weekend. Very disappointed unfortunately as soon as we walked into the restaurant. First impressions tired and empty! It's a large space but only a couple of tables were booked. The staff were kind of friendly but not very professional. The table settings were mish mash and it just felt wrong. Ladies loo depressing. However, when the food came it was good. No complaints there. So we left feeling let down. This restaurant has a captive clientele with the amount of people going through the hotel - it should be packed and fabulous. Thank goodness Andrea Bocelli was amazing.
The restaurant had good parking .The food was hot and tasty. The waitress was helpful and looked after us well .
Service was good, and food was delicious and cooked well. Only downside for me the restaurant don’t have enough lobster for customers, so you will need to pre-order a lobster.
A great meal overall if a little pricey. Really annoying video on display screens on repeat. Will still definitely return when in the area.
Rude staff. Bought mushrooms in a dish even after it was stated there was a severe allergy. Just taking mushrooms out of a dish doesnt ensure the person wont get an allergic reaction...if you cant cook things separately then be upfront and tell people. The waiter was rude and condescending. I paid 70 pounds for a meal and would hae gladly paid more at a more expensive place to get polite staff and proper food. Waiters banging down food on a table isnt good enough...if ypur food was free then fine let them bang it down on table...but when im paying exorbitantly then you teach your staff to be polite and courteous
We got nothing that we ordered.
We got some sort of bone in batter with no meat. We ended up with no mains and rice and noodles.
It was the worst eating experience I have ever had.
Waitress didn’t speak English and took down completely different things to what we ordered.
Very tasty fresh food excellent service will be dining there soon again !!!
Wouldn’t recommend at all. Food very poor - chicken was dry and chewy. Beef in black bean was better. Quite expensive and added a gratuity charge which was compulsory, even though we thought the food was very poor. Not very friendly either. Didn’t ask if everything was ok with the meal or if we wanted desserts, they couldn’t wait to clear our table.
Booked through Opentable for Sunday lunch, but it was simply ignored by the restaurant. The receptionist said they dont take any booking and dont know what is Opentable!
Sunday dim sum are pretty good and authentic, price is reasonable too (when compared with Chinatown). It is a typical busy pushy chinese restaurant who dont care about service you would expect in other restaurant. If you can bear with that, it is a good place foe dim sum.
Located in North Greenwich, Saikei serves a great range of Chinese dishes. It’s 10-15 minutes walk from the station but also has a car park - just make sure you provide your number plate at the front desk.
Although I was running 15 minutes late, the staff told me not to worry and kindly kept my table for me.
We ordered ¼ aromatic duck, which is served with julienned spring onions and sticks of crunchy cucumber. The duck skin was crispy and cooked perfectly. The meat was so fresh and tender, we could have easily eaten that for both our starters and mains!
For mains, we chose chicken and cashew nut, steamed rice and a minced pork noodle dish. The chicken was succulent and we enjoyed the contrast of the crunchy cashew nuts. The portions were generous and we ended up taking most of it home!
The staff were polite and attentive throughout the meal and our food arrived promptly after finishing our starter. Will be back again soon!
Recommend dish: Aromatic duck and pancakes
Food good but over £25 added to the bill for items we did not order or consume. Watch out.
Ample parking, good food, excellent service. Everything you need for a pleasant meal!
Service was excellent and quick. Food was delicious and plentiful. It was not busy being Monday evening.
This has to be the worst restaurant that I have been too in the world. The surprising thing is that it is inside a Holiday Inn Hotel. I took my aunt with me as we were watching a concert at the O2 and thought to take her somewhere nicer than the restaurants in o2. The service was slow but I would like to strongly complain about the appalling service from the waitress who served us. Firstly, she was very rude when she was taking our orders. She came back after 30 mins when all our food were served and tried to take our dishes awaY while we were still eating them. She did not think to ask us if we have finished. When we asked her if we could pack them away as we ordered too much food. She just came back with some containers and DUMP them on our table. I was the customer on the 13th october who refused to pay any service. You would think that a manager would come round to check why but they were just too busy talking to each other as there were hardly any people in the restaurant. If you want really want bad service, then go to this restaurant. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone and would hope someone from Holiday Inn Express will look into this.
I was disappointed with the food. I'd heard good things about the food but it was terrible. We had sweet and sour chicken and chicken lo Mein and the meat was very tough. The decor was also dated and tired. I would not recommend this restaurant.
