It was our first time at Saint Jacques but definitely not our last. A delicious lunch, for which we didn't have to wait too long. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Nice inviting ambiance, very good service and lovely food. Tables are well separated which provides added comfort in today’s environment. We’ll definitely go back.
Great food, and the service was very friendly and efficient.
Was a special occasion. The food was very good and the staff was very kind.
Richard and Cecile are the best taking care of the guests. We will be back for sure
The finest Steak Tartare in London -served with panache!
I never write reviews on sites like this but felt this place deserved the effort. It's a great new restaurant in the heart of the lushest part of London. Very attentive and friendly service, a great wine list too -- with affordable prices. Food was french fine dining done properly, and extremely tasty. Comfortable evening atmosphere, crowd varied from business folk to families. Lots of space, cosy and clean. And I can't remember much else because I was having too much of a good time. Go!
Excellent meal, great French cuisine done very well. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
A great new find for me. Not cheap, but really good and of course great location. Will probably become a regular haunt, particularly for business lunches.
Really good classy food, fantastic service and amazing wines.
What an amazing find !!!
Wonderful welcoming service in a very charming and comfy environment.
Fabulous truly French menu without being too fussy.
Homemade foie gras was wonderful. Delicious poussin. The best crepe Suzette prepared at the table that I have ever eaten.
Cannot wait for better weather so I can eat in the charming courtyard.
This is our new favourite. Wonderful charming service in an equally charming restaurant with dedicated service from a very lovely dedicated team led by Roc and owner Richard.
Best service i've received in any restaurant, so personable and thoughtful with a brilliant amount of enthusiasm. It's very hard and taxing to keep up appearances in any customer-facing role but these guys did it brilliantly. Very impressed and would love to return. I recommend the bone marrow for starters and steak tartar for mains!
Also! Best creme brulee i've ever had
Lovely place, great food, amazing staff
Very enjoyable, second visit in as many weeks.
Great meal of traditional French food, with excellent service
Classical French cooking, which I definitely mean in a good way, in a well designed space. Lovely to see a 'patron' led front of house, an individual restaurant that is not part of a chain. Customers seemed to be old friends of the patron, probably all working in St James. However, despite friendly staff service not as sharp as it might have been, and the interior would have looked better for candles on tables, and all tables laid up; obviously in Covid days the restaurant would not have expected to fill the tables, but they still look better laid. I believe Corbyn and King are sharp about tables always looking immaculate, whether a customer expected or not. Sensible pricing on food. Glad I went, might return, but places like Daphne's a similar price with a more polished experience.
Our second visit to this wonderful restaurant did not disappoint. This is a proper, old-fashioned (in the best sense of the word) French restaurant, with outstanding food in decent portions, an excellent wine list, polite, friendly and unobtrusive service and what would certainly be a wonderful ambience when full of happy diners. Sadly, there were very few of there on a recent Friday evening, a consequence of current unhappy circumstances. This did not detract however, from the excellence of the food and wine and the fine company of the charming owner and staff. You feel welcome, pampered and extremely well fed after a visit here. There is nothing trendy or "woke" about this place and it provides a haven from the madness out on our streets and in our confused and confusing daily lives, not to mention in our government. Do go, enjoy the food and wine and feel nourished in more ways than one. You can now go for breakfast or lunch if that is more to your taste than dinner.
Beautiful restaurant and a delicious menu. Tables are well spaced apart to be a safe distance without compromising on atmosphere.
Ordered the lamb for my main course and enjoyed every bite. Would recommend
I love Saint Jacques, the food is great and the staff are really friendly.
Really excellent. They deserve to do very well. Friendly service too.
One of the best restaurants in St. James' - good value wine list for the area & excellent (mostly) French cuisine.
Excellent food and service as always. The grouse was excellent, as was the Steak Tartare. Ask the owner, Richard, to recommend a wine, he always finds something unusual; this time he suggested a Minervois which was reasonably priced and an excellent accompaniment to our food.
Excellent restaurant. This was our second time of eating there. Once was outside which was fabulous and the second time inside which was equally as odd. Social distancing and Covid awareness were very good.
How wonderful to go to a new restaurant where everyone is happy, friendly & helpful because that is just what the Maitre D embodies. My guest and I enjoyed a delicious lunch - perhaps the snails had a tad too many breadcrumbs, but the taste wa ace. The rig ins and boiled spuds were cooked to perfection. I have never enjoyed better.
But just as important: we were made to feel welcome by EVERY member of staff. Optimism reigns supreme here. It’s infectious and I thoroughly recommend giving it a whirl.
Fantastic French restaurant with a gorgeous courtyard terrace which insulates from London completely. Wonderful service and a super wine list to complement the fantastic food.
Top setting with gorgeous food and impeccable service! Loved it and will be coming back!
We loved Saint Jacques.
The Steak Tartare is made at table and is the best anywhere.
The service is exemplary; friendly, professional and informative. They love their wines here and make a great effort to ensure they find you something that matches well to the food.
We ate on the terrace which is delightful.
We will be back again very soon.
Exceptional service and passionate and knowledgable staff. Beautiful romantic decor and courtyard. Seafood was fresh. Excellent evening.
We had a fabulous evening at Saint Jacques. We sat outside in the courtyard - which surely has to be one of the most beautiful al fresco dining spots in the city! The service was impeccable - we absolutely loved the warmth and friendliness of Richard, the maître d'. The food is completely delicious and the wine list second to none. We had the crêpes suzette for pudding and were thrilled by the display of having them made at the table by the wonderful Richard! We look forward to visiting again very soon.
Excellent French food this side of the channel. The best Foie and Crepe Suzette I have had in many years. Cannot wait to return and encourage others to try this culinary gem.
Outstanding classic French dishes impeccably cooked and served. Perfect service, welcoming, knowledgeable and charming. You are never hurried yet wait just the right amount of time between courses. Unfussy decor and classic table linen, gleaming white. As our first post-lockdown restaurant meal it was a wholly delightful experience. We will be back!
Amen. If you want great food and rub shoulders with the greatest with no snobbery look nowhere else. Best kept secret. Do not tell anyone.
Newly opened, the staff went to every extent to impress. Foie was better than in France.
So nice. If you love your French classics then this place is great,
Fab time at Saint Jacques restaurant in Saint James’s this week. It is still in soft launch mode but loving the décor, the champagne choice (Deutz) and the charismatic Richard and his highly competent team. We had foie gras and salmon to start; and followed it with châteaubriand for two which was enough to finish us off despite really wanting to have the theatre of crêpe Suzette prepared at the table. A lovely space both inside and out and we will definitely be back.
Fantastic to have Richard and team back in action after a 7-year hiatus!!
