Welcome to the only best Japanese restaurant in Essex.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME.....We arrived to find this place had obviously been shut down for years...how can you have the nerve to promote it on your site..we traveled miles for a friends birthday and everyone was absolutely gutted...
It was closed luckily we found another restaurant near by
It has shut down yet you still let me book and ruin an evening out!
Booked the restaurant and the drove all the way there with my partner. Got to the front to see the lights off and the front door was locked. No explanation given for the closure.
Very disappointed we wasted our date night as we were unable to go anywhere else on such short notice.
High levels of Quality throughout - the food, service, decor : what I would expect from a high end west end restaurant
The food here is lovely and good portions. The staff were attentive and friendly. Apparently they sometimes have a DJ playing so, if you’re looking for a quiet meal, check that out before booking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
We had a lovely meal and the waitress did her best to look after us. Unfortunately the restaurant was short staffed and we did have to wait a little while for the bill. The slight lack of ambiance was due to choosing an early time for dinner and there not being many people in the restaurant. These things aside, the food was great and I would recommend a visit.
Lovely waitress, amazing service and food, will definitely be back!
I travel from London to this place, it never lets me down!
It’s a nice place with good atmosphere for a night out with friends, cocktails and sushi. Staff are very friendly and trying their best to keep you happy with your meal. I definitely will come back again and again!
Ramen was not authentic, tasted like watered down packet chicken soup, with barely any noodles, and not even the correct type of noodles.
Yasai katsu was supposed to be breaded but came in a batter which again is not authentic but at least had a satisfactory flavour.
Everything we ate and drank had a strange flavour to it, which suggested the cooking equipment was cleaned incorrectly. Finally my Coca Cola was flat and actually tasted like cheap cola from lidl
A very expensive meal London prices in Epping! Empty restaurant attracting the wrong clientele for the menu price!!
Really enjoyed it. Staff were really friendly and attentive. We were well looked after. Food was fantastic and really enjoyed the cocktails. Really nice looking venue. Wasn’t too busy either but still had a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend the black cod.
This was our third visit to saisaki it is a lovely place unfortunately the service was pretty poor I quote ‘what drink do you want?’ Wasn’t asked if we would like more drinks wasn’t asked if we would like to see the dessert menu although staff repeatedly walked past our table to go into the staff area! and for a restaurant that only had 4 tables in the food was not freshly prepared as confirmed by a waiter/supervisor I was quite baffled!!
The setting is lovely and fashionable you can see that it has been carefully thought about sadly the larger table was particularly loud and useing foul language don’t get me wrong I’m not against people having fun but not everyone wants to hear about theirs personal lifestyle and felt they could have been asked to tone it down a little. We thought we had found a little hidden jem but now I’m not sure if we will return which is quite a shame. Maybe a little staff training wouldn’t go amiss!!
We went out to celebrate a birthday, we were made to feel very welcome. The food was lovely, we had a sushi platter as a starter to share, this had a good selection of 8 different sushi, this was so tasty. Followed by our mains. I had the chicken katsu curry, which was very good. Reasonably priced, would go back again.
Absolutely fantastic service. Served by Angus. Top rate service. Food fantastic. Definitely returning soon. Best restaurant by far in Epping and surrounding area!
We have been to this restaurant several times since first opening 2 years ago. One particular waitress has been very friendly every time. Initial impressions of the food was excellent but the drinks menu was overpriced. A few months ago, a change to the food menu left us disappointed and we thought we wouldn’t come back. They have now brought the old menu back full of our favourite dishes and their new drinks menu is fantastic and well priced too. The happy hour is a great addition too. Can’t wait to come back.
Really enjoyed the food here ,staff attentive and knowledgable . Saturday night there was a dj a little too noisey for us , volume a little high .All in all though a great night .
Lovely food and great service. Cater for children too which was lovely as my Son had a wonderful time there with his friends on his Birthday!
Really enjoyed the food and service. Angus especially made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend it and will be visiting again soon
Great food. Really tasty. Some of the best Japanese food I have had.
Service was great as well. Staff very friendly.
Food is excellent except for Beef teriaki. (Much too dry).
The atmosphere: Much too noisy. Everybody is shouting over the too loud music.
I would recommend to friends but warn them for the loudness.
The service is oustanding as well as the interior. The food is overall excellent.
Second visit much better than the first time. Cocktails are great, as is the food. It was very busy with mixed aged diners. The very loud house music would have been better later in the evening. The diners next to me left as they could not hear themselves talk
Second visit and was not as impressed as first time. Change of menu, not as much choice and portions seemed smaller. I was celebrating a friends birthday so ordered a bottle of LP rose champagne but unfortunately they did not have this only alternative was a £650 bottle!!!!
Food was tasty and staff polite.
All that was missing was other diners. Let down the experience. A DJ for the 8 people there, not really necessary. Great food and drinks. It’s a shame - it could be really vibrant.
I would have scored the food 5* if the soft shell crab had been cooked through, ate a piece which was a little jellified.
The food is nice, bit too expensive but nice. Our waitress didn't know the answer to many of our questions about the menu but didn't think to go and find out for us, just said she didn't know and carried on taking our order. We were also overcharged on our bill for drinks - they had added £1 here and there to cocktails orders -not sure if it was a genuine mistake or if they were hoping we wouldn't notice, but luckily we did as my friend was charged £30 for 3 non-alcoholic drinks!
Tasty authentic Japanese food in Epping. Don't expect it to be cheap but for the quality well worth it.
Absolutely fantastic food. Fresh sushi. Amazing cocktails. Would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely food and surroundings but number of mix ups during the night really ruined our evening. We were brought others food a few times for it to be taken away later. More importantly, friend is strict vegetarian and 2 out of 3 dishes brought up contained meat.....she only realised when she'd eaten some. Good job she wasn't allergic to seafood too as eaten part of a coated prawn. Management very apologetic but some staff and kitchen staff just don't know what they're doing or what's in their food -
let's restaurant down. Shame as my food was great.
The service was great, the food was amazing and the restaurant itself is impressive inside. I took my partner there for her birthday and she left having had a great experience. Will recommend and will be back again
Party of 3 and enjoyed our meal here. It's the nearest sushi restaurant to us, so we would go again.
Great date night out with my girlfriend. Delicious food, well presented and good value. DJ in the restaurant just added an atmosphere. Must try restaurant.
2nd time we have visited and it is a local gem!
Locals should go here for great food, service and overall experience
We had a lovely meal. Only downside was the music was so loud we couldn't talk to eachother. Be good to turn speakers off in the dining area just leave on at the bar/dance floor x
First time I’ve tried this Restsurant and can’t wait to go back. Unfortunately we went the fri before pay day in January and it was empty, but the food was sensational, good value and staff were very friendly.
We had a nice evening, food was decent and the wine was lovely. Waiter was very young and inexperienced and got a couple of things wrong but tried very hard.
The most disappointing part was being given the dessert menu then a couple minutes later being told the kitchen was closed so we couldn’t order dessert, and this was 21:20 so hardly late!
Lovely food, great service and nice atmosphere. Our 2 girls also loved it although it might not suit all children - best to check the menu.
They also sung happy birthday for our daughter and had candles on her dessert.
Food was lovely and there is so much choice. We will definitely be back.
Very enjoyable meal and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and revisit.
Modern and contemporary furnished restaurant. The hot starters were very good, soup noodle broth was also good. We ordered Teriyaki beef rice which was disappointing as it wasn't steak beef as it should be. It was wafer thin beef marinated in Teriyaki sauce put on top of the steamed rice.
