The tapas are complemented by charcuterie and cheese boards and we have a wide selection of excellent wines and sherries. Flexibility is key to Salt Yard. Customers can enjoy a full spread of tapas: or come in simply for a glass of red wine and a plate of cheese, a coffee and a delicious pudding, or even just a perfect martini and a handful of Marcona almonds.
Located in central London – a two minute walk from Goodge St tube station and a five minute walk from Oxford Circus – we are perfectly placed for a business lunch, a pre-theatre meal or a night out with friends.
The manager’s finishing touch to yet another superb night at the Salt Yard for us was that I had emailed ahead asking for a specific table. The evening was our tenth wedding anniversary, and I asked for the table we had sat at for our first date, thirteen years ago. There was no difficulty in accommodating us with this request - which, although a simple one, was still thoughtful and conscientious on such a busy Friday night. It reflects so well on them and we will definitely be coming back, once again.
Hello, Thank you very much for your great star rating and feedback. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon! Best, Salt Yard Team
Took some friends along for a meal ... great location just off Charlotte Street and near Tottenham Court Road. Really nice tapas style food with some innovative plates. Great flavours and nicely presented. Only downside is that we all thought it was a touch expensive for the size of the servings. Nice ambience including a nice cosy downstairs area.
Great Tapas venue that I have been to a few times in a vibrant part of town - on this occasion I thought the service was rather hit & miss, although our first waiter did recommend a rather good white rioja
Hello, Thank you very much for taking the time to give us a star rating. We hope to welcome you again soon at Salt Yard but in the meantime do not hesitate to send us an email to tell us a bit more about this visit: email@example.com Best, Salt Yard Team
Had a fab evening with a colleague - great choice of small plates which we grazed on over a couple of hours. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Can highly recommend it.
Hello Leonie, Thank you very much for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us and hope to welcome you again soon! Salt Yard team
Jamon croquetas were the star of the night. Creamy and spiced perfectly. We also had the courgette flower, which was a mini courgette and flower. The duck and melon was an interesting combination and was far lighter than duck is typically. Also went for crab on watermelon (forgettable), patatas bravas (delicious) and churros for dessert (good portion and tasty).
Overall service was fast and attentive. Prices for portions were average.
Thank you very much for your great comments and we are looking forward to welcoming you soon. Best, Salt Yard Team
Very small restaurant with a good choice of tapas. All the dishes we tried were excellent.
Outstanding food. Portions a bit small (yes it’s tapas but still)
Thank god they don’t serve meatballs in tomato sauce:)
It's been years since I last visited Salt yard, which was always one my favourite haunts in Goodge St.
It's good to see they haven't gone downhill.
Food was fantastic, if a little on the expensive side for portion size.
The beer selection was pretty good, if limited.
If I was honest, there are other tapas place I'd go to around Soho, but this place is still well worth a visit.
Was our second time going, and unfortunately it was much below what the first time, which was very good. We will go again, but not anytime soon given how disappointing it was. I asked about the chef, and they said “we have many”, so perhaps it is just about getting the “right” one.
Not your traditional Spanish tapas but an excellent meal nonetheless, great food and service in a cosy venue.
Great food and lovely staff! I tried courgette flower for the first time and it was so so good!
Lovely lunch with generous tapas size portions of food.
Good service and food. Expensive with regard to value for money.
Great informal lunch at the bar nice beer wine and tapas
iberico ham Spanish cheese and belly pork was fantastic
Food was actually good but service was slow to start with
The menu did not say there are nuts in their salad and my friend has allergies, staff said we should have told them and they also forgot to ask ! Wine was slow and when we reminded them of our order of wine it just got charged 2 times in our bill - overall a bit chaotic for the whole evening. Shame the food was actually good ! Service very bad
We sat downstairs for lovely formal but cosy dining. The service was spot on; attentive but unobtrusive. The menu was well constructed - the food was delicious, beautifully presented, with attention to detail. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a cosy, but smart evening out. For us, it was our anniversary and felt extremely pleased with our choice.
Good afternoon, Thank you for your fantastic review. We are very happy to hear that you had a great experience and enjoyed your anniversary at the Salt Yard restaurant. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, The Salt Yard team
Great meal with friends and family, excellent food and range of choices to suit all our tastes.
Good afternoon, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you had a nice experience at the Salt Yard restaurant. Hope to see you again. Kind regards, The Salt Yard team
It was very quiet when we arrived as we visited early but the restaurant filled up later. Food was very tasty and staff were friendly and attentive. Some of the portions were a little small for the price so you can easily spend a lot without quite realising, but overall a lovely lunch.
Hi Natalie, Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your lunch at the Salt Yard restaurant. Hope to see you again. Kind regards, The Salt Yard team
Really wanted to enjoy my second experience, but found the Kale salad rather inconsistently prepared. LOVED it the first time; second time, not made the same way, and I added salmon, which was overcooked and bland tasting. All for nearly $30.00. Service this time was rushed, and disorganized.
Great food, never disappoints after many visits. Innovative dishes and attentive service
Good afternoon, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your evening with us. I will pass the message to the team. Hope to see you at Salt Yard for another occasion. Kind regards, The Salt Yard manager
Wonderful staff who looked after us impeccably. They also returned our possessions that we had left behind. A great place and lovely food
Hi Nicholas, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at our restaurant. We hope to see you soon! Kind regards, The Salt Yard Team
Friendly busy. Very low lighting made it difficult to read menu. Tasty croquettas but very small. Nice jamon, padron and bravas. Good value (Italian) Syrah.
Thank you so much for your feedback. Good afternoon, We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at our restaurant. We hope to see you soon! Kind regards, The Salt Yard Team
As a regular visitor to SaltYard, I suggested it as a venue for a group of work friends who had not met before to have an early meal/ drinks.
They were suitably impressed by the courgette flowers (my top tip) and I was introduced to the house sangria - a new and very pleasant experience. As one of my colleagues has a number of food intolerances, I was also introduced to your allergens menu which proved very helpful.
The atmosphere was, as usual, friendly and buzzy but with the opportunity to talk.
Similarly, the service was as attentive and knowledgeable as usual, our only complaint being that we had to vacate our table before we were quite ready so I didn't get to have my second glass of rose - I had to go down the round to Vagabonds. :(
Food and service are okay, but for that price you can find many better places in London.
Four of us ( two vegetarian) went for dinner as a lastminute decision.
The dishes - tapas - ( they're meant to be small, with 3 per person) were pretty good and surprisingly filling.
Only the tortilla was slightly disappointingly unspicy, but rescued by some of the excellent sauce from the patatas fritas.
Around £25 each including a bottle of wine was good value too.
One of the best Tapas resturants in LONDON.
The service was excellent and friendly
Food was good but what stood out for me was the Jamon ham which even though was pricey you at least got a good portion and was delicious. Other restaurants give half of what salt yard gives.
The courgette flower was tasty as was the the rest.
We will definitely go again
Menue is across the board delicious, well with going
The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, serving staff charming. It was a very cold snowy day and we were too near the door for comfort, I felt pretty cold.
However the food was excellent, as was the wine of the week, a lovely dry white wines was pleasantly surprised by the bill.
Very nice lunch at the Salt Yard. Excellent choice of wine, food was really good and nice buzz
We go to Spain often and enjoy Michelin stars restaurants and bars over there, but it's very hard to find the substitutes in London, so we've been hopping around as many tapas bars and Spanish restaurants over the years.
Our hopes were very high when we stumbled upon Salt Yard. First of all, they have Manchego on the menu, which is a very good sign. And the waiter was very friendly and informative when he explained the menu. Chargrilled flat bread, three manchego cheese and Jamon Ibelico charcuterie were all beautiful and tasty. But that's as far as our stomach could take at the lunch time.
So by the time our tapas arrived, we were too full to eat. We ordered lovely Purple Sprouting Broccoli Tempura, Jamon, Leek and Manchego Croquetas, and Cornfed Chicken, but we could barely scratch the surfaces. What a shame!
We don't usually ask for takeaway, but since we had so much food in front of us, we felt bad that they would be thrown into the bin, so asked the waiter if we could take them home.
We quickly learned that they were very reluctant. First of all, they don't have any takeaway boxes. Fine. Next, they don't have any bags. Fine. But he said he could wrap them up individually in foil. Fine.
Ten minutes later, he came back with a foil wrap. He said they are securely wrapped individually. Our car was parked right outside, so we were happy to carry the food on our lap for twenty minutes.
When we got home, we opened the foil wrap, and saw they threw everything in one mash. How can any chefs (or waiters?) treat their own food without respect and damp all together like that? They virtually threw their food in the bin (might as well), rather than making sure the food was as lovely when we took home.
Since then we went back to our favourite and a very famous bar in Alicante and told one of the chefs about our experience and he couldn't believe it. He says, sorry, but you have to tick off this restaurant from your list. And I think we have.
Great food! Lovely service
Brilliant food! Brilliant service! Speedy, tasty and quick!
Really good food, will be back for sure, good service, professional, food was really top drawer. Had a great meal and drinks
Wonderful warm and friendly service, delicious food and wine– very special little place.
Excellent food. Service was very average, food outweighs the service so it’s all good.
Food is excellent but service is a bit slow, nice ambience and very decently priced
The food was highly imaginative and of very good quality and taste.
Very friendly and attentive service.
I will be back soon!
Superb, well worth the visit and looking forward to going again. Staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good and served in good time but not rushed. Overall a great experience and would definitely eat here again
Outstanding service with a wonderful ambiance and fabulous food. Highly recommended if small plates-tapas style is your thing.
Fantastic tapas !! Great atmosphere! Will be back!
