We felt incredibly welcome when we arrived, the ambience and food was incredible.
Excellent food, really lovely place, I will definitely come back
High quality food in a boutique neighbor restaurant.
This was a new restaurant for us - and we'd gone for a 3 course lunch for special family visit on the strength of earlier reviews. It was absolutely splendid - great location and atmosphere, no one would be uncomfortable here - and wonderful food: for starters soft egg, mains lamb and duck, and all puddings which we all had a spoon of and loved, but to my mind the cardamom pana cotta was sublime). We also tried new wines - a Rose and a Desert wine that were outstanding. We had Trevor the sous chef cooking that day - and a fabulous Scotsman for service (apologies for not remembering his name). We will definitely be returning
Food not as good as last time sadly. But a fair risk when the chef goes to the effort of creating regular new dishes.
The rabbit was a very weak course. The roast potatoes I’m 95% sure were just fried sliced new potatoes
Lamb course was excellent.
A wonderful evening with outstanding service and food. We will definitely be back
A really great " chance find" en route back to Islington from Stoke Newington. We shall return.
Great place to go if you want a bit of an extra special dish but still be casual. This place will be our new local go to!
Mains and starters were very, good. Our only negative point was on the sides of the main, which were quite bland. (chickpeas and potatos). The deserts where excellent as well, was actually the best part of the meal.
Great service. Interesting and original dishes but nothing too pretentious. Great vibe. One of our new favourites.
Imaginative creative food with great service and ambience
The food, the drinks, the service, the venue, everything was absolutely perfect. A hidden gem!
Great place with exciting food. Very welcoming staff and nice atmosphere. Would have rated higher but we both agreed the food was a touch too salty.
One of my favourite restaurants in all of London! Such a gem, friendly service and delicious, inspired cuisine!
Can't wait for my next visit to this gem of a restaurant. Everything I ate was cooked to perfection and the combination of ingredients extremely well judged in all the dishes I tried. From the little bit of theatricality in the serving of the veloute, through the crispy delight of the fishskin in the main course to the deep rich chocolatiness of the dessert. Friendly staff serving and a corner location with huge windows next to almost all of the tables. An excellent wine list for an establishment of this size and several of the interesting offerings available by the glass. All three wines I tried were above average examples of their type. Salut!
Top notch food, lovely and cosy ambience, and great service. Highly recommended.
Nice food and place but portions are far too small for the price. There also weren't enough staff.
Our first time at Salut, really enjoyed our meal and service, glad we had the table for four as space is limited, caramelised figs, octopus carpaccio, followed by duck breast and halibut, will eat here again.
Wonderful food in an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere! Highly recommended.
Went to Salut! for Saturday dinner with my boyfriend after reading great reviews about this place. I ordered the halibut and it was very delicious. Staff are very attentive and this place is definitely a cozy, neighborhood gem. Definitely will go back again!
I booked a table for a reunion of old colleagues who hadn't met up for a long time, and we had a lovely evening. The venue is quite intimate and cosy, very welcoming. The wine was excellent, and my colleagues who had opted for meat and fish starters and mains thoroughly enjoyed their food, with a hake main dish coming in for particular praise. WE didn't have puddings, but chose cheese and port instead and the portions were generous with a good variety of cheeses on offer. I am a vegetarian, and found both the lack of options and the cauliflower dish I chose, rather disappointing for the price paid for the meal. I would definitely recommend this place for special occasions and couples or small groups, but it is a bit pricey for everyday dining. We went on a Friday evening and only had our table for a couple of hours, so ended up having to gulp down our port in rather a hurry!
Nice and cozy restaurant. Small portions but good food
Absolutely fabulous! The food was amazing, the wine was amazing! It is on the more expensive side so it wouldn’t be everyday dining!
Salut! was fantastic. The service was impeccable and the food was flavorful, creative, and beautiful. We will be back
Awfully expensive and not worth it. Moreover the meat was cooked as the chef likes it not how I asked it. Good location and ok service, but we won't be back.
Absolutely amazing food! We loved being able to look into the open kitchen to watch the chefs at work.
Absolutely faultless! From the relaxed vibe, to knowledgeable and friendly staff to perfectly executed cooking. A new, firm favourite!
I took my boyfriend to Salut! for our monthly 'date night' and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent; the lady who looked after us was attentive and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious - we were do busy enjoying our starters, we didn't really even get much of a chance to watch the chef's at work in the open kitchen. I've already recommended Salut! to several friends and I will definitely be back again.
Great service, food. Empty when we went but it was early. Food portions need to increase. Lovely open kitchen.
We shared a starter and had a main each, plus bread and butter and 2 glasses of wine. Overall the experience was good, lovely service and ambience, not too crowded or loud, the food all tasted amazing, I just think some plates are really tiny for their price, while others are good value and portions, so if you get the tiny one you feel unlucky.
The trout starter and the scallop main were tiny. The dessert looked tiny for 10 pounds. However the beef carpaccio starter and the duck main were great portions and left us very happy.
Food is at the focus in this lovely small, modern restaurant.
Staff was very accommodating, although a bit disordered as we had a few mixups with our orders.
Went to this restaurant based on its reviews. The food was really good but the overall experience was just fine.
When we ordered our mains, the waitress said they would take about 20 minutes to prepare. I was happy for some time to enjoy a glass of wine. I excused myself from the table two minutes and when I came back the plates were on the table. It was a strange feeling - had we received the meal from another table?
This also meant the food arrived before the bread. All in all, it felt rushed.
The space is cosy and interesting - you feel like you're in the kitchen. This is good until smoke fills the room! We were basically sat under the hood vent.
Fantastic food and service!
Amazing as always!! Great small, indepenant restaurant.
Really enjoyed all food and very relaxed and friendly but efficient service. The Rioja (one of the cheaper red wine choices) was good too.
Very good experience. Gluten free choices or food adjusted to cater for my allergies. Delicious food, ample wine selection. Lovely staff. Great local place
Great starter of octopus though my friend's mackerel portion was a little small. Generous sides but may make sense just to make mains a little bigger.
Service was very friendly and we were sat right next to the kitchen - could feel the steam bath on my back! Pretty much empty until 7.30 onwards.
We had a deal (50% of food) so paid £90 for three courses and two glasses of wine each which was really good value but wouldn't go back without a deal as bit pricey for the location and restaurant layout.
Excellent dinner in a refined space in north east london
Great, a bit pricy
Salut was recommended to my partner by a taxi driver about a year ago, wish it didn't take us that long to try it out. Great food and tasty cocktails - definitely be visiting again.
