Always consistent - if you like Turkish food, this is your place .
Our favorite lamb shush kabobs were over cooked and had to be sent back. We asked for rare and got medium. This never happened before. Also, the lamb cubes were half the usual size. The Shepard salad was perfect as was the Bakhlava.
Delicious food, beautiful decor, and great staff! Thank you!
A bit expensive for the portions you receive. But what you receive is excellent.
Very good Mediterranean food in a location with ample parking.
Very attentive service.
We've been to Samdam many times, but not recently until last weekend. The appetizers were great, but the swordfish kabobs were bland and without much seasoning. They also seemed to skimp on the side dishes. Between the 4 of us we had 3 appetizers and 4 main meals. No alcohol and no dessert. The bill
was $200 with tip. We thought that $100 per couple was very overpriced for what we got in the way of food. Needless to say, we were disappointed.
The only plus was the service which is always good.
Nothing sets this place apart from any other MiddleEastern/ Turkish restaurant when it comes to food quality. A good place to eat, but maybe not in the weekend when the server forgets to accommodate your requests. Also, while most of us were done eating, one person in our party was still waiting for their food to arrive. Complete turn off in that aspect. Value wise, a little pricey , but I guess that comes with the location. You would get definitely better everything if you would be willing to travel a little bit to the west. Location wise, great and the place looks clean. Did not use the restroom facilities so I cannot fully comment on cleaning ness.
Great food, service and prices are a hard to beat combination. This restaurant is a cut above all the others.
Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing dining experience.
Excellent as usual.
excellent middle-eastern restaurant in Cresskill. Our go-to place for a great dinner. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend the Shephard Salad and fried liver. The kababs are great. Nice atmosphere. You can get a reasonable bottle of wine for $25.
delicious food served nicely with attentive and accommodating staff , the value at lunch is extraordinary and the food is consistently excellent
Always enjoy eating here and the quality of the food is consistently good.
My favorite restaurant.
Too expensive for the food level. The food was stoo basic.
Hands down the best Middle Eastern restaurant in the area. I've picked up food from here at least 20 times, but this was my first time dining in the restaurant and it did not disappoint. Their chicken kebab and hummus is to die for. Check it out!
Terrific! We have been here many times and it has been excellent every time.
6 of us met for lunch, which was very good. We all had sis-kebab which we enjoyed. The price of lunch is very reasonable.
Very generous portions. Great service. Food was good, but sadly fish was not fresh.
Great food, friendly staff! Never disappointed, usually don't like going out for holiday meals, however, even though they were busy for Easter the food was fantastic, we weren't rushed and I wouldn't hesitate to come back next Easter. We don't live that close to this restaurant but it is worth the drive.
We always love Samdan. The shepherd salad and hummus are a wonderful starter. I always get the lamb shish but any kebab is good. The food there is constantly good.
The food was fresh and authentic to the cuisine. Some things had sugar in the like a sausage dish which I didn't care for. A lot of the foods we're carbs and rice which I also didn't care for so I can't comment on those. The branzine was perfect, salad to die for. A bit too quiet for my taste and they serve a lot of lamb which I don't eat. Service was impeccable. Overall it's nice to go there at least once.
We made a 5:00pm reservation and I was excited to take my friend to Samdan for her birthday. The lentil and chicken soup was excellent. We enjoyed the Humus. We ordered the Bronzino special and the fish was delicious.
The only negative thing was they didn’t ask about Birthday celebration. I think more restaurants need to look at what occasion is being celebrated when people book on open table.
Our server, Tyler, was the best! He was attentive and so nice, but all of the folks at this restaurant are great. It’s like being in Nick, the owner’s, oversized dining room. You are welcomed like family the moment you walk in. No better Turkish restaurant around - like being in Istanbul!
Dishes are plentiful so lend themselves to easy sharing but NO guilt if you do so. I don’t know how they keep the chicken kabobs so moist.
See you again soon!
Always reliable... Consistent, tasty and good value. Servers pleasant and competent. Wine available with BYOB option with small "corkage" fee. Comfortable and generally conversation friendly.
If you appreciate authentic Middle-Eastern cuisine, you'll really enjoy Samdan. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, the service is attentive, and the meals are always wonderful, consisting of wholesome food. Samdan never disappoints.
Great food as usual! We were lucky to get a table for 2 last minute!
Love this restaurant. Great menu, the food is delicious and it’s casual and classy place! One odd thing was having our cocktails served in beautiful glasses and then the waiter brings a can of soda to the table, doesn’t open it or pour the soda into the glass! That was definitely a moment that stopped us in our tracks and caused us to shake our heads. Please change that!
Food is bland and boring.
With all the Mediterranean restaurants around Samdan's consistently flavorful food and generous portions make it a spot we return to year after year. Looks like the interior was redone since our last visit giving it an even nicer ambiance.
We have been to Samdam numerous times. We order similar dishes each time. This time, our food was not prepared properly. We left portions uneaten and told the waitress to alert the kitchen that part was not cooked. She did not appear to care. The next day, I called and informed the restaurant and they did not seem to care.
Samdams is one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants. Their food is authentic and plentiful! Two people can share an entree. They now have a wine list, but if you bring your own, there is a $5 corkage fee.
Food is always fantastic! Love the hummus and the Chicken kababs
The food is always on the money. The combonation platter is outstanding.
Gracious service; excellent Turkish food. Always reliable. Very accomodating to special requests.
I took my father-in-law to this restaurant for Father's Day. The app
very good food, spot on service, owner/manager personable. Perfectly authentic cuisine spectacularly prepared, seemingly refined family customer base. Go there ;you won't be sorry!!
Salad good, lamb dry, waitress was either having bad day or a bad attitude.
Although lacking white table cloth polish, the service was friendly. Drinks were available, but no actual bar area. The food was truly decent & unique in its ethnicity.
We'll go back eventually.
