lovely food and very good service
Lovely food, simply prepared and presented to allow for a more authentic experience. Super nice waitress! Definitely recommend.
My seafood ramen was not great. The noodles were stuck together and the seafood was over cooked. Had hoped for more.
I would love to give a good review , the service is great and the staff is really nice and accomodating.
but the food is not that good.. miso soup taste like water and its full of onions which is not really a miso soup. Agedashi tofu lacks flavor. Sashimi was okey .the sushi platter is way not worth the money you spend and the rainbow platter is just okey. Too little wasabi is served and the tiger prawn tempura is so disappointing as well it looks like it came out from a packet that you can buy from the groceries and is really small.
I really wanted a saving grace from the food so we can actually say its worth it but it wasn’t
Delicious Japanese food in a friendly and relaxed setting
Really great food and excellent service.
Decor was dated. The table I sat at was all chipped. Sushi was alright. The edamame completely lacked salt. Overall nothing that stood out
Fresh and high quality food, great sushi, highly recommended!
Given the excessive price of many Japanese restaurants, this offers great value and no compromise on quality.
A really unexpected find. Interesting varied menu, and well presented.
Fantastic! Samsi in Manchester has a great range of Japanese dishes. The sukiyaki is excellent.
Samsi in Manchester is excellent. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were generous especially for the price. I will definitely go back.
Thoroughly recommend the vegetarian and Japanese banquets at Samsi, Manchester. Authentic, high quality food, with fast and efficient service.
Food was good to very good - best chicken gyoza I have ever had. Sushi is tasty but presentation is rather poor.Noodles are served generously and are possibly the best thing on the menu for those who need something more substantial. restaurant seems very hectic at the times and service is a bit rushed and somehow not attentive enough. It looks like decor is very worn out and whole restaurant would need a serious refurbishment
Samsi, Manchester. A wonderful restaurant, sometimes forgotten about owing to location. Dining room is inviting, with a lively atmosphere and downstairs deli a hidden delight. Food represents great value and there is a decent if unspectacular wine list. Sashimi was high quality with thick slices of very fresh fish. Star dish was the steak sukiyaki, a centre piece with a wonderful tasty broth. Now if only they would they would cook some of my other favourite japanese snacks. Highly recommended.
Agreed, best Japanese restaurant in Manchester
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Samsi, Manchester - was quite quiet on the the night, though. Very good value and pleasant service. The "supermarket" downstairs is a bonus and great for otherwise hard-to-get Japanese products and better value sizes of more familiar items. We'll be back and have recommended it to others.
Good Japanese restaurant. Generous portion sizes!
Samsi Restaurant, Manchester, is for the value of money for the food you get. The food is nothing special for a Japanese meal and perhaps it needs to be more innovative with exquisite Japanese meals rather than typical binto box type food only. Big portions and felt too full at the end of a banquet meal.
Brilliant decor, loved the booths that a couple could sit in to have a meal. Didn't get a chance to sample the bar downstairs but live music sounded great. Choice of food was excellent and our waitress couldn't have been more helpful, topping our wine up on queue!! Toilets were a bit of a trek but apart from that would love to go again.
Samsi is the best Japanese in Manchester and has delicious fresh ingredients: the sushi and beef are outstanding. The venue is pleasant and the staff functional, but the real star is the chef who cooks in full view of the restaurant.
Samsi, Japanese restaurant, city centre, Manchester. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Spacious airy room. The food was very good with the exception of the tempura which was soggy! I would certainly recommend it and return
Food good but a bit to much noise for a romantic dinner, even so we would eat there again.
The Living Room, Nottingham. The mixed starter consisting of 3 starters of our choice was great, and very filling. The main course portions were decent sizes and very well done. The slow roasted shoulder of lamb with mash was lovely and tender. A lovely evening wih fine wine and good food, very attentive and friendly staff. Would definitely recommed this resturant.
The Living Room in Nottingham was fantastic. I went with my girlfriend and found the ambience perfect and the service was 1st class not to mention the food was gorgeous. I definately recommend the seafood risotto. Will definately eat there again when in Nottingham.
We had a delicious meal, slightly steep prices.
Excellent starters, good main course, and average desert.
Friendly, helpful service.
comfortable surroundings. good ambience, despite being fairly empty due to the time of our meal.
The Living Room, Nottingham
New Samsi is always good, the sushi is extremely fresh and equal to any we've had in London or elsewhere. The service is good. We tend to get a selection of everything we fancy and share it as a table although my son doesn't share his huge platter of sushi with anyone! One or two dishes, such as the skewers, aren't as good value, but the tempura and the teryaki salmon are to die for. Don't forget to visit the cool Japanese shop downstairs for all your authentic ingredients.
Visited Samsi on a Sunday evening. Disappointed by the quality of the food. Unfortunately also seated in the new back of the restaurant which appeared rather tacky. Visit many Japanese restaurants and sadly quality of the food is much lower standard on this occasion.
Good food, nice atmosphere and an attentive service.
The meal started promisingly enough with very acceptable sushi but went downhill rapidly thereafter. The tempura was ok but no daicon with the tensyuyu (or even salt!) and worse was the way large amounts of food arrived at once meaning that certain dishes were eaten lukewarm or even cold, that should have been enjoyed hot. The service was friendly but apart from one waitress, the staff was Chinese and somehow this was reflected in the food. Not really a Japanese restaurant, rather, Japanese-ish.
We had a fantastic time at the livingroom in nottingham, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious and we are planning on going back very soon!!
The Living Room was a fantastic experience, I would recommend it to anyone. Great food, great service and the atmosphere was perfect. The booth was reserved for us as requested and there was also a bottle of bubbly waiting for us as requested.
A great evening - attentive service and really tasty food
Living Room - Nottingham
Excellent - great venue - buzzy - food was very good for all - and staff most helpful - definitely one to go again (several times!)
Excellent atmosphere and wonderful food!
New Samsi, Manchester was pleasant if a little quiete on a Wednesday. Food and service good, slightly expensive.
We went to the Living Room in Nottingham on Monday evening for dinner. The service was great, although the food was fairly average we had a lovely time. Usually, it is quite expensive but we had a voucher for 25% off the bill, so this made it very good value. I have been before and had excellent food, and will go again.
The food and service at Living Room Nottingham were both top notch. I wpuld also highly reccomend the Pornstar Martini. Unfortunately being above a bar meant the shared loos had my own persoal pet hate - the man that thinks you need help washing your hands.
This was our second visit to The Living Room, Nottingham. Last time we had an excellent dining experience. Unfortunately our latest visit wasn't quite as good. I had the lamb cutlets and asked for them to be very pink. However, only 1 of them was slightly pink and the others were cooked through. The accompaniments were tasty though. My partner had the ostrich for the second time but the accompaniments weren't as nice this time. It is also worth checking their website for offers.
