I'll recommend this restaurant with the 50% off offer, but at full price, no.
We was well looked after by the server, so no faults on service.
As for the food, I ordered the crab for starters, which was tasty, BUT... I wasn't expecting to bite into some crab cartilage amongst the white crab meat, so that was disappointing as it showed lack of attention. I ordered the beef fillet for my mains, the beef was tender, BUT.. the carrots on this dish was undercooked as it was still crunchy, not a mistake I was hoping to see. Didn't report these faults to the server as I didn't want to ruin my night out, but overall, some silly mistakes that shouldn't be made.
Just to point out to other diners, this restaurant charges 15% for service charge, so slightly more than the other restaurants that charge between 10-12.5%.
The food wasn't great considering the price tag - for a 5 star hotel it's pretty poor. Much better places in London that you can visit.
Great food and nice atmosphere.
Great food but beware 15% service charge . Get there early for a cocktail at the Long bar
Had a really fun evening with great food. Excellent value in lovely surroundings
A lovely environment for an easy to hear catch up with friends good food and service and plenty of space which is unusual in central London
The hotel bar has become one of my favourite drinks locations in London so to dine at the restaurant on NYE was a very easy choice. I’m please to say that the fools was lovely and the overall ambiance was exactly what we wanted.
We paid 300£ for a meal... left hungry. I understand fine dining, however a complete lack of service combined with awful food made for one of our worst experiences in London. We have lived here for 3 years and did not complain on the day and would never say anything at all if the level was not so exceptionally poor.
For the price we paid the quality of food and portion was below standard and such a waste of money.
All I can say is that the Christmas Day lunch was simply brilliant
Good food
Good service
Good ambience
Of course good company.
Have been to Sanderson for drinks previously - but this was the 1st time eating there - definitely doing it again in the not too distant future.
lovely food as usual and quite a lot busier than usual but it is that time of year!
The food was absolutely amazing!! Beef filet was one of the best ones I’ve had. The whole service and ambient was lovely !!
The mashed avocado with the Sanderson Eggs dish on the breakfast menu were not ripe so was not appetizing. Otherwise staff and ambiance very nice.
Food was rushed and we were seated on the high chairs by the noisey bar area which we were not expecting.
great meal well executed with delightful presentation. the desert was wonderful but i wish there could have been a bigger portion. having said that we were both full by the end of the meal and will be back
Excellent service from Gaby(gabriel) made use feel very welcomed and would definitly come back due to his service!
Amazing food, beautiful place and great value! Cocktails are fantastic!
The food was dreadful. They served me raw fish, made very little apology about it. By the time the replacement arrived everyone else had finished eating and I had to ask where my meal was. There was no price reduction . I was charged full whack for food that potentially could have made me sick!
The bar is beautiful. Cocktails good. But that’s about it!
Lovely setting, interesting outdoor decor and swing chair for some nice pics. Had a great breakfast too
The menu did not have enough vegetarian options, however the options that were there were delicious.
Sanderson offers up a beautiful setting and what feels like a calm, tranquil oasis to offset the busy sounds of London life occurring just outside the hotel entrance. We ordered off the set menu for £28, which was terrific value for money. The food is carefully prepared and really does go above and beyond what the price would suggest.
The service was impeccable and the friendliness of the staff was a welcome change from the usual hotel snobbery you find around central London. Unfortunately, the service charge errs on the side of extortionate, especially considering we were a table of two dining on a Wednesday evening - there were a handful of other diners seated in the terrace. The service charge is one that's more akin to group dining and it was something that did leave a little bit of a sour taste. We were more than happy to adequately tip our waitress for her great work, but were turned off by the discretionary charge, which as it was already added to our total cost we felt obliged to pay.
The set menu was nice as was the complimentary cocktail. However we did feel rushed as the waitress cleared our plates as soon as we put our cutlery down and the next course appeared before we'd even swallowed the last mouthful of the previous course! The staff were very polite and helpful but perhaps they need to give diners a bit more time and privacy between courses.
I was very worried about this restaurant because of some of its reviews. However, I decided to give the crazy deal menu a try, and man, was it worth it!
We were seated in view of the bar, but also around the corner from it, so it wasn’t noisy. Our waiter and the host were very attentive and kept asking if everything was going well. It felt genuine and not forced.
The food was great. We even got cocktails, which were a surprising part of the deal. I ordered the burrata - it was very nice. My friend had the crispy pig head - different, but good if you’re into meat. We both had cod, and that, too, was well done. I would say that neither dish was out-of-this-world extraordinary, but they were tasty, and I would get them again.
Now, the main event. The chocolate torte dessert WAS out of this world. Words cannot describe it. In pictures it might look like a cake, but it was really, really good, dense chocolate. It came on a chilled plate. I would gladly come back and pay full price for it. It was one of the best desserts I’ve had recently.
Overall, I’m so happy we came here for a really nice meal. I’d say the restaurant fixed whatever wrong they committed in the past. I would definitely go back.
Service and food was ok but the reservation office was beyond pretentious and arrogant. Courtyard is nice but would recommend to go elsewhere where you are more welcome
Very good food, fair prices, beautiful ambiance and excellent service. Couldn’t ask for more
Portion sizes were appalling but the hotel is absolutely beautiful and the ambience was amazing, just a shame about the food. I’ve had a lot better breakfasts at cheaper prices.
Me and my friends loved this place, the staff was amazing and the food was magnificent
Went again for our anniversary as we always love it, kept waiting for a table even though we booked in advance no problem though got to enjoy the lovely long bar! Service wasn’t as good as last time and was overly crowded and the groups were very loud in there. Felt there wasn’t enough space to thoroughly enjoy however we loved the food as usual and this will not stop us returning.
No special touches for our anniversary which was a bit disappointing
The Sanderson is certainly somewhere to go for a special treat. The open table deal is good value and a very interesting menu - we all enjoyed our dishes. It was lovely to sit semi-outside and the wraps on the back of the chairs would be very welcome for cooler evenings
Was an experience staff were pleasent I think the menu required more choice. Service was just ok.
Just lovely and let every expectation. Next time in Uk will come back.
I really enjoyed my birthday lunch with my friend. The staff were very helpful and very accommodating. I loved the outdoor lounge to enjoy a few drinks and enjoyed the flamingo decor.
Best offer on toptable by far. Great value for money
Unfortunately all the commentary around booking which implies you are going to a buzzing restaurant sets a scene different to reality. Very quiet, all staff focus seemed elsewhere, maybe ok for £40 for 2 salads and 2 glasses of wine...but not for £80.
Really good food and service.
Overall an incredible experience. The food was of a high standard and the service was exceptional!
Thank you
Service was pleasant (ish) but painfully slow to the point of being ignored for 20 mins at a time.
I also received a rather condescending ‘don’t worry’ when I quietly reported crab shell in the sandwiches.
Luckily it was a beautiful day and the garden is a lovely place to be when the sun shines!
an Ok Breakfast venue the service was really good and the food average to good, a little on the pricy side, you are paying for the service more than the food.
Amazing!!!! Had such a lovely night xxx
Thank you for this.
Service was horrendous.
Left for 20 minutes after each course before they collected the plates.
