Sannio Italian Restaurant and Bar is located across from the King’s Theatre, through the Pink Door to the delightfully designed downstairs restaurant. It’s been an Italian Restaurant since 1978, formally known as Sannino then Teatro. It is open for Lunch, Pre Theatre and Dinner, has a capacity up to 50 people with booths, sofas seating and party booths. Ideal for Lunch and Pre Theatre dining before attending to the King’s Theatre across the road as well as near by Theatre Royal Glasgow, Glasgow Concert Hall, Cinemas, Mitchell Library, SECC, Ovo Hydro, Scottish Exhibition Centre, George Square and Blythswood Hotel, Dakota Hotel, Novotel, Hilton, Premier Inn & many others in the area. Restaurant was a bit small, basically had to move tables to sit down! Overall though, the ambiance was good. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Food was ok, although our starters weren’t very warm.

Great location for attending Kings theatre. A tight squeeze but a really nice little restaurant. Food tasty, good choice available and food served piping hot. Service great too. We had the set two course lunch and a glass of Prosecco for £18. Great value. This is my third visit and would highly recommend.

Booked with open table got text message to see if I wanted to move booking from 6.15pm To text 1 if I wanted 5.45pm which I did Turned up at 5.45pm to be told this message should have be sent out Then had to come back at 6pm Booking system not good at all We were in a bar had seat left to go to restaurant then had to move to another bar until our time slot was available

It was our first visit to Sannio and it certainly won’t be our last! All the staff were welcoming and friendly making our visit a very relaxed dining experience.

Food was delicious. Sea bass cooked to perfection and one of the best carbonaras we’d ever had. The only negative about this restaurant is how crammed in the tables are. Our table for 2 was a tiny round table that barely fit our 2 plates, and a table for 3 nearby was no bigger. The tables either side are right up against you so don’t go if you are looking for privacy! But the good and service are both top notch.
