Santiago's Tapas Cardiff
Excellent Tapas and service
Good value for money
A nice little place. Tapas was really nice. Only issue was one dish took a lot longer than the others. Was sat waiting for it after has finished all other dishes. However they apologised for the wait.
Just scrumptious food. Great atmosphere , lovely staff
Good selection of Tapas , enjoyed the meal & night . Friendly, efficient staff
Great spot, friendly warm service and fabulous food; beer is pretty good as well!
Nice staff and atmosphere, just found the food a bit average and surprised early on a Thursday evening some dishes not available
This was our first visit and the occasion was my daughter’s birthday. We ordered 3 dishes each and the portions were plenty. The food was excellent. Loved the meatballs. The cheeseboard for one was enough for 2 plus. The service was excellent and although not expected at all they gave my daughter a piece of cake with candle for her birthday. I will definitely be back with my friends.
Food was exceptional.
Waitress needed to go home have a sleep. Dress for the occasion wine waiter was exceptional. Knew his agenda. Would i return hm food wise yes .
Lovely paella for 2 that would easily serve 4 people with a couple of bit of tapas. The quality of the paella was great well cooked and plenty of seafood and we really enjoyed it. Was busy for a Wed night so glad we booked and that were it went a bit wrong, we finished our food and wine and were pretty much ignored and not asked if we wanted anything else to drink or a dessert. After 15 mins we gave up and asked for the bill.
Absolulty outstanding soooo authentic felt like I was on vacation ! Food was delicious service impeccable ...loved it ...be back soon !
Great variety & quality of food . Fantastic service. Highly recommend
After never ending English food always same music, something different, simple, well prepared with nice staff
We went for dinner with 4 people and shared tapas. Our favourites were the Pulpo dish and the Canarian potatos with mojo sauce. But to be fair, all the other tapas were great as well. Same for the desserts.
The service was excellent and our waitress very friendly and helpful. Would always go again!
Good service, good food and at a decent price. We had a lovely meal here and certainly recommend it.
Really lovey place. Great food. Incredible value. Service a bit slow for drinks and bill.
Delicious Authentic Spanish food. Food cooked to order, service great. Estrella beer particularly good. Great ambience to the place. Five stars !
Such friendly service- felt like friends were cooking for us! Very authentic tapas and everything was delicious!
Had a fantastic meal with work here. Owner was very charismatic and helpful and full of advice. Food was delicious, Sangria went down a little too quickly and we are already planning our next visit.
Very lovely meal with friends, good tapas and first class paella. Staff really good. We will be back.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Santiago's tapas bar to even the most critical of my friends.
The service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, and all staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes and able to offer advice and make recommendations.
I visited with my husband on a Saturday lunchtime, and even though it was really busy it still felt calm and unrushed .
Cant wait until my next visit.
In the heart of Cardiff, so buzzy atmosphere. The food portions were good for tapas - and the patatas bravas, whilst not the traditional recipe, was the best I've ever eaten!
The food was delicious, staff very welcoming and there was a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed the tapas at Santiago’s. Food was delicious and authentic. We were nearly put off by the street outside which was filthy with rubbish but I’m glad we went in because the meal was delicious.
Wonderful service, fantastic food and the best Sangria I have ever tried!
Food was probably the best Tapas we've had. Only suggestion, toilets were a bit grim!
The paella is the star of the show, fab wine choice too. Would recommend to friends.
Great good, service was ok and place was busy.
Front of house seemed very stressed and other waiting staff seemed a bit inexperienced but sure that will get better.
Very poor tapas, with rice that tastes microwaved and frozen prawns that taste rubbery.
There are much better tapas options in Cardiff.
The food was superb, we both really enjoyed. Staff were lovely, really friendly. Food was ready really quickly even though the restaurant was busy. Would definitely recommend.
Food and service 2nd to nine would highly recommend.went for my partners birthday and she was very happy with the choice 👍🏻
The food was great but the service was poor. I reserved a table for four for Father’s Day and there were two window seats reserved but my family and I were put in a dark corner on a booth seat that was too low. We were mostly ignored by the waiting staff.
We have just come home from 10 days in Spain and were delighted with the classic more home style tapas selections that Santiago's is offering. Great to have more traditional Spanish food to enjoy.
Fantastic food and staff, we had a table of 12 for the recent Take That concert and we were very impressed with level of service and quality and the speed of service.
Also had a great wine selection, very impressed and will return.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly. The owner recommended the wine which was very good. The restaurant itself is very quaint and has a nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food and I will return again.
Great location, food, atmosphere, service, and the owners personal attention Fab.
Tasty food, nice atmosphere. Portions are quite small for the price compared to what we’ve experienced elsewhere.
The best tapas I have had ever!!! Would highly recommend.
Sensationally good, authentic tapas. This place is very special.
I very much enjoy Spanish cuisine and have, over the last 20 years, spent a lot of time every year in the Valencia region of Spain and away from the tourist traps . As a result I would say I was a reasonable judge of what is good and bad with Spanish food. In my view the food was excellent and compares very well with what you expect in Spain. We had a Mixed Valencia Paella for 4 which was absolutely packed with squid, prawns ,muscles and chicken. It was very substantial, tasted great and cooked perfectly. We also had a number of Tapas dishes to start and while we waited for our paella which takes about 30 minutes to prepare. (Exactly as it should be) . If a paella comes to your table any quicker you know you are not getting a paella cooked from scratch.
I would also recommend the Navajas Rioja which was excellent and very good value.
Its not often I can't finish a meal because I'm full , but they were even able to give me the left over paella in Tupperware box for lunch the following day. Thank you
Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. We felt rushed in the service and the paella was particularly dry . We were told the olives were free only to then be charged.
