Santiago's Tapas Cardiff
The best Tapas outside of Spain.... the staff are incredible, the food it’s tantalising, and the ambience is as authentic as you can get for Spain in the middle of Cardiff!!!
We travel from Gloucestershire just to eat here!!! 10/10 all round!!!
The food here is exceptional. The size of the tapas dishes is very generous. The charcuterie sharing board meats were carved to thick for my personal liking. Everything else though (and we ordered a lot) was delicious. Our waiter was lovely and helped us pick our dishes and the price was really reasonable will definitely be going back soon!!
A great place to enjoy a nice meal and and conversation
Great, very authentic tapas restaurant in the heart of Cardiff
Excellent food, excellent staff, and excellent restaurant. Loved it! We can't wait to come back and visit again!
Très bonne nourriture. Assiette très copieuse. Bonne adresse.
Our first time at Santiago’s a great experience, loved the food, the atmosphere and a very reasonable price considering the amount we had.
Nice atmosphere with pleasant friendly staff - food was tasty ( we had tapas) service was quick although not all our dishes were hot ( Luke warm) and dessert was a little disappointing
Food and service outstanding, Authentic Spanish tapas served in lovely ambiance. Highly recommend, wish I’d found it sooner.
Great service and good value for money...tapas were lush...a taste of spain in Cardiff...perfect evening out :-)
Smashing food and good portions. Lots of variety to the tapas choices so looking forward to returning.
Excellent flavours and good size portions. Quality service, quick and polite. Very reasonable price for a substantial amount of food. Would recommend to anyone.
Great service, especially when explaining my food allergy. Loved how all the food was cooked fresh. Been to both this one and the new one in Whitchurch and both fantastic
Amazing food and wonderful staff. Highly recommended.
Santiago’s is just a perfect place to feel like into the heart of Spain. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. Great value for money and the staff make you fee like a regular even if you’ve been trying the place for the first time. Seafood cooked to perfection and nothing better than a pint of Estrella to wrap it up as a wonderful night out! This is the place where my partner proposed...and it really has a special place in our hearts now!Highly recommend it!
Food was amazing, service with a smile.
Good came out pretty quickly, will 100% be coming back
outside of spain one of the most authentic tasting tapas ive tasted
Out with my two children who are in their late twenties and we had a great time and enjoyed a seemingly endless supply of delicious tapas
This is my 4th time with a different group of friends .everyone totally loved the food they had. There was plenty of food all tasty.
Had a pleasant meal for my partner's birthday, as it was quiet the waiters were eager to serve us, which meant we felt a bit rushed looking at the menu but I could understand they wanted something to do!
The food came quickly and was delicious! We didn't order much but it was enough to share and be full by the end! But of course, the best part was the complimentary pudding and singing of Happy Birthday! When booking I'd mentioned it was my partner's birthday but understood if nothing came of it more than just saying happy birthday when we arrived! So I thank you again for going the extra mile
All in all a good experience and would be happy to return!
The food was not brilliant, beef stew dish mainly fat and the equivalent lamb dish mainly bone.
Delicious food, very quick and fresh!
Ordered tapas. They were very good. Ordered too much as the portion sizes were quite big.
Very close to St David's Hall so ideal place to eat if you are going to a concert/show. We went after seeing Swan Lake ballet. There were 5 of us and we shared 15 tapas dishes. All very tasty although some came with potatoes so we didn't need to order so many potato dishes. Paella, stews, meatballs, meat platter all good. We liked the atmosphere. Staff friendly and fairly casual. We did find the restaurant a bit cold but we were seating in the window seat.
Took our granddaughter. Lovely food had 6 tapas My granddaughter said the fish gougons where the best ever. We will definitely be visiting again.
Loved the place. Fabulous food , good selection and very reasonably priced.
We went early on a Saturday it was busy but not too noisy.
Food came quicky had gambas pil pil, pulpo, padron peppers, croquettes all fresh and well seasoned.
Wine list short, house wine well priced.
Efficient and friendly service
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere, would definitely recommend.
Food was very good. Traditional tapas menu. Service was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful.Only criticism was that service was too efficient...I.e. too quick.
Lovely character and buzz with a great variety of tapas! Great casual and friendly service!
Our “date-night” out was exciting this time around cause we were trying Santiago’s for the first time due to a gift card that was given to us earlier in the year. And we’re so glad we went, food was very nice, wine was amazing and the bill that came after we ate... couldn’t believe how affordable it all was. Very impressed and will definitely be trying it out again in the near future.
The meal was pleasant and the staff were friendly. However, we were given olives upon arrival which were added to the bill, without any prior notification. We went at lunchtime but no lunch offers appeared to be available. The tapas portions were small compared to other local tapas venues and the food was average. The patatas bravas were just fried potatoes smothered in a mayo and did not have the lovely tomato sauce you normally get with the dish. To improve matters they should not add items to the bill which have not been ordered and should consider offering a lunchtime special, such as 3 tapas for £10 or £12. £15 for 2 small tapas dishes and 1 drink is a far less competitive price than other restaurants are offering
We chose this restaurant as it was close to St David Hall (concert). We were shown to our table and served immediately. The staff helped us select 6 tapas dishes advising on ingredients etc. Food was fresh and delicious. We loved the restaurant and the fantastic service. We shall return.
We had a fantastic time. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the food and wine was amazing Highly recommended this lovely place
Amazing food, lovely wine (chilled to perfection!) friendly service.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning very soon.
Incredible food and good service, the best tapas I've had.
Went for the first time for a friends birthday we had a mixture of food mainly tapas and 1 seafood paella for 2. Lovely food attentive service.
We took a birthday cake which they brought to the table with a candle and sang which was lovely.
We sat ate drank wine and chatted and were not rushed to.leave so had a very enjoyable afternoon
Food was nice. Long wait and staff Were sometimes unattentive and slow. Could be greatly improved if the staff paid more attention. We were a big party of 10, and there weren't many other people in there so there was no reason to ignore us when asking for more drinks etc
Good correct, portions reasonable, staff friendly, tables small and quite cramped but this created atmosphere. Will go again.
Absolutely gorgeous food, Lovely atmosphere, fab staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon x
Excellent Tapas and service
