Service, atmosphere and especially the food.
It si like eating in Sicily. Gnocchi with red prawns were outstanding
They have fresh fish cooked to order. In a 10 day trip to London it was the only restaurant we went to twice. I had the salt encrusted seabass. Excellent. The grilled octopus and potato appetizer was great!
Outstanding Italian seafood
The entire evening was sensational.
The quality of food is above average and that’s why you also pay a high price; let’s say that’s a fair deal. however the service is rather disappointing, not consistent and certainly not what you’d expect for what you pay. The team is disorganized and move around like not knowing what to do..
For a specialist seafood restaurant we found our experience very disappointing. I had a seafood plate which was quite small, included was one prawn which was quite powdery in texture indicating too long in the freezer, the fish pieces were ok but reasonably bland, octopus ok
When we arrived we were seated straight away. We wanted to sit outside as it was very warm inside and their cooling system wasn’t working. A member of staff went out of her way to ensure we were able to sit outside as soon as a table became available. I would’ve given this place 5 stars but there were a few things I weren’t happy with. I asked for the smallest fish on the menu and a side of mash potatoes. I emphasised that the fish needed to be small for dietary reasons. When the food arrived the fish plate (White bream) was large, enough for two people to eat and they had completely forgotten about my mash potato. They then had to prepare it and when it came it was cold so I had to send it back to be heated. The mash potato was great eventually (an hour later). My friend ordered the spaghetti and clams and the mixed grill upon my recommendation and it was superb. The food here is great so I would definitely recommend I guess I was just unlucky that evening
Above any expectation!
Tutto eccezionale dal cibo al servizio . Bravissimi
Complimenti a tutti voi. Si mangia benissimo. 18 anni che vivo a Londra e posso dire che non ci sono ristoranti italiani o di pesce allo stesso livello.
Excellent food and bit different if you like a fish restaurant. It a great place to go for a special occasion.
Expensive but excellent food
Serious, good products, friendly, a good address to know!
Six stars dining experience.
Santo Mare is by far the best seafood restaurant in London.
In a restaurant like that you expect the fish to be fresh but they managed to have an outstanding service and an amazing atmosphere. Also , the desserts are mouthwatering.
A great place for fish lovers, the shell fish, lobster and pasta are also good, but the service is inconsistent .
Good wine list .....!
Para empezar, el calor que hacia en el restaurante no era normal. Deberían de poner un aire acondicionado.
En el tema de los precios,el vino varió 50€ el precio indicado en la carta de vinos.
Como conclusión,nunca más volveremos a este sitio.
Excellent cooking but premium priced
a delightful evening, excellent food and service. Very helpful informed waiter who told us in details
where the food was sourced from. Not cheap but very good quality. A thoroughly enjoyable evening
Bravi! Mangiato benissimo
I thought the food was very good - tasty. Although my husband said his tuna was dry - which was probably true.
Overall ambience was fine and the service excellent.
Nice addition to the neighborhood. Pricey yes, so not for just a simple family meal, but celebrating an event like Father's Day? Perfect. Staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome and valued. If you are happy to leave yourself in their hands they will guide you through the menu and options and you will end up with an incredible meal- fresh, simple, delicious- like being at the shore. We had a wonderful evening and will add it to our rota. Picture sitting down with a lovely glass of chilled wine, a large platter of frittino misto with a little squeeze of lemon....then perhaps some grilled fish as a main and leave room for dessert- son claims it is best ice cream he has ever had.
When 5 stars are not enough.
You eat better here than Michelin stars restaurants in Italy.
This is the best seafood restaurant in London.
The quality and the freshness of the fish can’t be compared to any other restaurant in London.
It’s not cheap but the experience is worth it every penny.
Outstanding from start to finish! The ambiance and decor are charming and sophisticated — theming is outstanding and no detail was overlooked in the design. Service shines — the staff is charming, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Food is perfectly prepared (and delicious) and wine pairing is spot on. The pistachio gelato deserves it’s own food category and stands alone. Don’t miss this special corner of Italy in London ... it’s worthy of many happy returns!
We chose to go to Santo Mare as an alternative to Scott’s. Open Table rated Santo Marr as expensive and almost as good as Scott’s .
Well it is not.
This restaurant is very disappointing: salty food, fish not cooked well, service is very much up in the air.
First and last time I go to Santo Mare restaurant.
Everything was excellent
Best seafood cuisine I’ve ever tried, they have top quality ingredients and are masters in cooking them just perfectly!
You wouldn’t expect to find this gem in Marylebone, lovely and elegant, fish at its finest!
In love with the guazzetto seabass and the pistacchio ice cream, will come back soon!
Gorgeous and elegant, the atmosphere is so joyful! The music, the lights and the kind staff are so pleasant, obviously the food is the masterpiece but everything together make this place a must if you like Italian and seafood cuisine!
Linguine pasta with langoustines and mint are my favourite dish ever!
Very nice experience. They fly the fish from Italy and the quality is impressive.
A ray of light in the monotony of london restaurants, I just can’t believe I finally found an authentic and crazy good Italian fish restaurant here. They take fish from Italy every day and you can tell from their fish counter, amazing! Go there once and you’ll go back again and again!
The restaurant features fish that is flown in daily from Italy. So one can be sure the fish is fresh. On the other hand, the portions are very small, and recipes that are not particularly creative. I had risotto with fish and lobster - only the fish and lobster tidbits were difficult to find. My friend had spaghetti with clams, very standard - some oil and garlic with very small clams. Another friend had cod, but again, very small portions but plated pleasingly. Basically, overpriced for what you get. A nice small touch was the hand clipped fresh basil for the dipping olive oil. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service fine, but not a restaurant we'd go back to on our net trip to London.
They’re new and learning. Very attentive staff (except our waiter, who was a dud). Nice simple setting. Very nice bread and salad, but the waiter basically ignored our food requests and brought our mains as he would have liked them, after which manager comp’d one of our mains & apologized. So A+ for the effort by the managers (restaurant & bar), but room to improve on food delivery.
Dinner was outstanding. The fish was so fresh and beautifully prepared. The service was attentive but not at all intrusive. This restaurant has been added to our list of favorites.
A wonderful italian restaurant, I would say that one of the best of London. The fish is the king here, even in many of the pasta dishes!
Awesome place with great seafood, good location. Great cocktails too. Will definitely be back.
Pricey but worth it: truly excellent seafood, great service and a very pleasant ambience.
Great fish meal here!
Arrived at 7.30 and served the starter within 10 minutes ( amazing red prawns Carpaccio). Very nice the idea to serve focaccia and bread with fresh basil.
The pasta was one of the best I had in my life ( langoustine and mint).
When is not possible to get any better I have ordered the Tiramisu ( order it and see the show with your eyes).
This is not a cheap restaurant ( bill was about 200 for two people including a nice Conte della vipera from antinori).
Worth every penny.
What a wonderful experience!
Very impressed with the quality of the ingredients.
So far the best seafood restaurant in London.
Had a superb meal here tonight.
Fresh fish, great sides, felt like eating in Italy.
The tiramisu has to be tasted ....... the best we’ve ever eaten.
