Very pleased with everything about this lovely restaurant - from start to finish. Very warm welcome, prompt and courteous service. We ate off the set menu, which offered excellent value and good portion sizes. It was a birthday celebration and at the end of the meal they bought me out a surprise birthday cake! Thoroughly impressed!

We were incredibly impressed with our visit to the Bloomsbury scoff and banter. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food was delicious and well presented and service was just right. We liked the lighting and noise levels and felt very comfortable. We will return!

The food was fine but the service was dreadful, we asked if we could have a jug of water for the table and was told no!! It was hard to get the attention of the waiter staff to refill our glasses. When we asked why not and was told we just can’t!!! Plus a smile would have helped when being served

The service was dreadful. From the moment of walking in and waiting to be seated, we were completely ignored. We were not recognised as booked through Open Table and did not receive the offer menu agreed. The food was mediocre. The service for drinks was slow. I removed the service charge from the final bill. When asked to pay I was simply told 'no' when presenting my ApplePay device. A 'sorry sir, we can't accept applepay over £30' would have been far more appropriate. Dreadful experience overall.

We chose this restaurant for a pre-theatre meal before seeing a show at the Dominion Theatre. The restaurant was nearby the theatre, the staff were very attentive and efficient and for once we arrived on time to see a show. We had the set menu which was excellent, large portions of superb dishes, very reasonable priced. The restaurant itself was opulent and well worth the visit.

Average restaurant. Had the rump steak. Knew it would be firm but this one was really tough barely edible. Chicken dish was ok but a bit dry. Did not like the martini, wrong vermouth, vermouth should be very dry not medium dry. Service was ok.

Main courses were good and served quickly. Asked for a cake or biscuit to accompany coffee but was told you didn't have anything - minutes later a waitress walked by with three trays of cakes for an afternoon tea ... Disappointing really.

My drink came after my starter. Main was barely warm.
Dessert was very dry and tasteless. Waiting staff were friendly but the food really let down the entire experience.

Very kind staff, nice and elegant atmosphere. The waiters were friendly and welcoming especially the Italian girl (maybe the staff supervisor). The dishes were tasty and well presented, average value for money. Just a note: it was quite cold inside but we've now realized it is quite normal (that was our first night in London).

On arrival there were plenty of empty tables in the bar and restaurant area. We advised a person who appeared 'in charge' that we had reserved a table but his initial reaction was to say that there was no table available as he had a party of 12 in another room. Sensing our disgust with this response and the fact that the room we were in was empty he returned a while later and said he had managed to find us a table! After that things went smoothly - There was plenty to choose from and the food was fresh and delicious. Staff were capable but not particularly friendly.

We went for afternoon tea. Almost no service at all (and charged mandatory 12.5% service fee anyways). The server had to be pushed to do anything. The scones and macarons were good, but other things were mediocre. Would not recommend going.

Lost a star for the glacially slow service. Feels like a motel lobby with piped-in music. Dishes are hit and miss (fish and chips are a miss). Go elsewhere.

The food quality was poor. The sandwiches were dry, especially the beef. It was disappointing that the bread for the sandwiches were stale and you could tell there was a hardness to the outside of the bread. The scones were very hard and made it difficult to enjoy. The desserts were lackluster and nothing stood out about them for being superb quality or special. They were mediocre at best.

For drinks they offered a good selection of tea which is the only thing I enjoyed from here. They offer coffee as well but I advise not to order anything coffee because the quality is terrible and the beans taste burned. I got a latte and the steamed milk did not turn out well and left an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

The servers were friendly. My part stayed there for two hours and the servers were attentive at the beginning but toward the last half they were completely inattentive to us and it was difficult to call their attention and ask for things like more tea.

Overall I had a disappointing experience, bad food, not so great service at the end, and the for the price we paid, one could’ve expected decent food but everything was mediocre at best. I looked around at other tables and just like mine, the dessert level was untouched. I could only assume because the quality is not up to par. Please look elsewhere for a tea time experience. This was a complete was of money.

A wonderful find! The food and surroundings were excellent and exceptionally good value for money for a London restaurant. One small niggle though, why would anyone serve apple crumble and custard on a flat wooden board? The custard went everywhere! To their credit the staff did bring me a bowl so that I could transfer my crumble to a more suitable plate. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a family meal here to catch up with family who live in London (there were 6 of us). The ambiance was perfect for this - not too noisy so we could hear each other talk. The food was absolutely excellent. I had the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection and served with a delicious peppercorn sauce. The hand-cut chips were great. The staff were courteous and the service was excellent - top marks!

Not really the best of meals.
Slow to take our drinks order. 15minute wait to get a drink after being seated.
Ordered a mushroom dish which we told would take 15minutes. Actually took closer to 40mins.
Also ordered the Fish, Chips and mushy peas. The peas were almost like a foam consistency and were minted. Not at all nice.
Ordered a dessert which was also very bland.
Place could also benefit from a face lift.

We were met by staff with a very friendly greeting and who were then very attentive during the course of our meal. A good choice of moderately priced wines. We both had crab cake starters that were some of the best we've had in that they were predominantly fresh crab with some potato as a binder and a hint of chilli. One main was fish pie which was packed with fish and was undoubtedly made in the kitchen, whilst the other of fish and chips was a sophisticated version of the takeaway favourite. Tap water was provided throughout and regularly topped up. Dining areas are well spaced so that there was a degree of privacy.

On arrival we were greeted well but there was no mention on the system as to why we were there. We explained we were booked in for afternoon tea and one of us needed a gluten free menu. We were given a complimentary drink as an apology. When the food arrived it lacked inspiration as in the food was just put on a plate with no thought of presentation. Unfortunately the quality and taste was even worse, one can only assume the offerings were dragged out of a freezer and microwaved, my wife had no choice but to send the scones back as she couldn't cut into them without a chisel. We won't be back.

50thbirthday treat not! Taken to our table Asked if we wanted water yes we said , charged for a very expensive bottle of water. Sirloin steak ordered I asked does it come with chips? No sir broccoli what the hell do you serve Steak with broccoli , no chips? Chips are extra. Could I have a serving of chips of course they said. What a mistake that was , frozen chips served fried. Wife’s meal was ordered with a side salad which came 15 minutes after the meal. Desert menu was offered 49 minutes after the main meal in which time we were now bored. Service terrible food standard poor and only offered £9.00 service charge .
Over priced food poor service.
