Food was lovely, and after 2 courses I was full up in a nice way. Service was good, ambience was ok but it was a quite period.
Our overall experience was good, staff services, ambiance was good. The only thing which was disappointing was that it took to long time for the food to be served
Beautiful restaurant and very clean
Do add a service charge
Dear Martin, Thank you very much for your nice review. Looking forward to see you again soon Regards, Alberto
Hotel restaurant away from the hustle and bustle. Very quiet when we went. Modern furnishings and not much character. Reasonable selection from set menu and good food and value. Friendly staff.
Dear David, Thank you very much for your nice review. Looking forward to see you again soon Regards, Alberto
Arrived late due to delayed flight. They provided a meal late at night.great service.food was very good.
Really nice dinning spot!
On arrival we were greeted well but there was no mention on the system as to why we were there. We explained we were booked in for afternoon tea and one of us needed a gluten free menu. We were given a complimentary drink as an apology. When the food arrived it lacked inspiration as in the food was just put on a plate with no thought of presentation. Unfortunately the quality and taste was even worse, one can only assume the offerings were dragged out of a freezer and microwaved, my wife had no choice but to send the scones back as she couldn't cut into them without a chisel. We won't be back.
We went early to eat as we were going to a show afterwards. The restaurant wasn't busy at all but it was a Monday tea time. The staff were all lovely very friendly and attentive. We were not rushed like in some restaurants and the staff chatted away to us . The food was really nice.It was very tasty and very well presented.
Lovely cocktails too.Our experience was a good one and we would definitely go back to this restaurantand would recommend it too .
Starters were rather small and I would have expected more vegetables t be included in the main meal
Nice atmosphere good friendly service and food was excellent
50thbirthday treat not! Taken to our table Asked if we wanted water yes we said , charged for a very expensive bottle of water. Sirloin steak ordered I asked does it come with chips? No sir broccoli what the hell do you serve Steak with broccoli , no chips? Chips are extra. Could I have a serving of chips of course they said. What a mistake that was , frozen chips served fried. Wife’s meal was ordered with a side salad which came 15 minutes after the meal. Desert menu was offered 49 minutes after the main meal in which time we were now bored. Service terrible food standard poor and only offered £9.00 service charge .
Over priced food poor service.
Wonderful staff and food. Very reasonably priced, our whole group thought we got superb quality food for the cost. It's a hotel restaurant though so very quiet and minimal atmosphere.
Warm friendly welcome, attentive staff and the quality of the food was very good. We just had the house wine but it was very tasty and we thought the meal as a whole was good value. We had theatre tickets so had limited time to eat but service was good and this meant we did not have to rush any part of our evening.
The service was friendly from start to finish which made my wife and I feel very comfortable. I had red wine and my wife had white both I thought were priced ok given London prices. The food was very nice indeed and I'd recommend the prawn cocktail and their chilli burger with chips.
New Years Eve, so chose the NYE set menu at £50 per head including insipid prosecco. Disappointing and over priced. However, a la carte menu much better, so stick with that. Wine pricey but good. Service very good.
We turned up on New Year's Eve and ate from the al la carte menu. The waiters were efficient, pleasant and helpful and the restaurant had an unhurried, relaxed ambiance. The crab cake starters were fantastic - freshly cooked and turned up at the table hot. I had the rack of Lamb as the main course and it was cooked classically, could have done with a little more crust for my taste, but the meat was not overcooked at all. Desert of Apple Crumble was the perfect finish to the meal, with a reasonably priced carafe of wine, it was a reasonably priced dinner given the location and quality of the food and service. I'd go back for pre-theatre or an early dinner, or with a family group.
Wonderful evening and great food, rib-eye steak was cooked to perfection
Pricey for Christmas lunch. Good food, but not anything remarkable. Staff seemed perturbed that we had two children with us. The toddler slept in her stroller through the main course, but they still seemed put out.
Very poor for Christmas lunch, no atmosphere, no Christmas music, no decorations other than a few crackers that were put on our table after we had arrived as an afterthought. Food was average at best, very expensive for what it was, all in all I would not go back and would advise others to find another place to eat.
Very average food. The starter was diabolical. Forgot to bring out the Christmas crackers until we had finished and were about to leave. Priority was definately given to upselling the order through drinks. A little glass of champagne along with the meal would have been a good gesture, considering it was £75/ head. Defintely a joint owned by Uncle Scrooge. First and last I'm affraid.
Really enjoyed pre theatre meal, service excellent food delicious would highly recommend.
We wanted to enjoy this restaurant however it was ultimately a disappointment. The white wine was warm, we weren't asked what the non-wine drinkers, including the children, wanted and the chicken that was served to my son, although nicely cooked, was not as described on the menu.
Our second time here and again the food and service were both excellent, nice atmosphere too
Team Christmas dinner was lovely and enjoyed by all. Very good value for high quality food!
Everything about the restraunt was fine. The food was good, the service was good. However I made the reservation for dinner with clients that had flown into London. I wanted to feed them some traditional, good British food - in a convivial atmosphere. "Scoff and Banter" sounded perfect.
However the experience didn't align with the brand. The food was good but it was sparce on the plate, the service was very proper, and the restaurant was quiet with "muzak".
It wasn't what I expected from a restraunt named "Scoff and Banter" and so I left disappointed. Maybe rebrand to "Refined and Proper"?
Fantastic evening, excellent service and exquisite food. Great with dietary requirements and allergies. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Nice décor friendly tasty food.
Excellent food and service. Really went the extra mile with everything. Good value too. Highly recommend.
We were seated on a table next to a loud, rude party, disrupting the whole area, we asked to me moved, were told no, no sorry, no apology, but lots of free tables at that time, we were the only other party there. I'm sure with a bit of re-jigging it would have been possible to move, so we decided to leave.
I booked on a recommendation but have since cancelled all other bookings. Would not recommend at all.
Had a really lovely time. We had a business meeting so we booked a table in the bar first so we could get that out of the way before we ate. The staff were extremely accommodating of our requirements and made it an excellent evening.
I had the festive menu and it was just not a good standard. The chicken salad was essentially just a handful of shop brought bag salad leaves with some bacon and chicken thrown in. It was not presented well at all. The turkey dinner...well I can only describe it as being like a school dinner. Processed Turkey, hard sprouts, undercooked parsnips and burnt pig in blanket. The Apple crumble was an apple pie with a non crunchy crumble topping and definitely required more apple. The only redeeming element was the apple and cinnamon martini. The interior and ambience was definitely better suited to afternoon tea than a Christmas night out. I would not recommend nor visit this place again.
I have emailed a list of my complaints but, believe it or not, no response at all!
The location and ambience is really excellent here for a small get together.
However, the food, although nice, was not hot which was a bit disappointing and made it a bit expensive in the circumstances.
Apart from that however I would highly recommend.
Without realising myself and the people that I dined with had been here years before and were pleased we had returned. Our party only catch up once a year so it was nice to be able to have a place to go at this time of year quiet enough to have a good catch up. We will no doubt return.
Great location. Menu all classics beautifully cooked and presented. Very good value too.
Not impressed or unimpressed really, pretty much just bar food but pricey! Egg was not cooked fully with a yucky clear gel on top & crunchy edge, chips hard tasted reheated. Staff very attentive & food arrived quickly just very average nothing special :-( watch out for the £5 water charge they offer it as soon as you sit (it’s not complimentary!)
Beautiful food, not the biggest menu but a nice selection.
The staff was all very friendly and helpful.
Things did not start well as the first waiter clearly could not find our booking and did not expect us. While the food was tasty and nicely presented, it came long overdue. The service was extremely slow in spite of the number of waiters (especially compared to the number of customers) and we stayed nearly 3 hours. We never received an apology until we openly complained. I would not recommend, especially if your time is limited.
A great evening catching up with friends, delicious food as always.
