Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms - Oxford Street Ratings and Reviews
This was my second afternoon tea at Scoff & Banter. I went back because I enjoyed it so much the first time. The afternoon tea menu is quite unusual as it involves hot dishes and more choice than is usually offered whilst still maintaining the traditional elements of afternoon tea. The service is excellent. I recommend a visit!
Cost is much better than any other place I looked into (all fully booked) so my expirations were low. I was happily surprised. The ambience that I thought would be too casual was actually very nice. The tables were nicely set up and the tea pots/patterns beautiful. The way of presenting food was fine and staff were welcoming and professional. To include a prosecco bottle to every 2 person order is a good deal. A few orders were missing/confused... but immediately attended to by the staff in a generous way. We all appreciated the variety of choice - every person can choose themselves from the menu; very accommodating. Lots of space and quiet considering the holidays. Staff eventually forgot to check in with us (ie had to get up to ask for water, etc.) and some of the food was just not good (especially lobster bisque!) while other plates were divine - but overall we had a great experience. Thank you
We celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday with afternoon tea. The staff went out of their way to make the day special for her. The food was delicious and the tea selection was more than sufficient. If I lived locally I would go back to Scott and Banter for tea. Highly recommended!
Exceeded my expectations. Booked an afternoon tea only a day before to celebrate my sister's promotion. Paid £34pp for an afternoon tea with a bottle of Prosecco. It was worth the price because it included 2 choices of hot dish, scones, sanwiches and dessert served on a high tea as well. There were variety of choices when it comes to tea. The ambience was also very cosy, charming and romantic. Considering that I only booked the table the night before, they were still able to grant my request of separate dessert with the word "Congratulations!" on it. The service was also excellent as they were very accomodating and helpful in explaining the menu. Robert was also very kind to chase us down the lobby to return my phone that I accidentally left on the table. Overall, was a very pleasant first afternoon tea experience.
A lovely surprise afternoon tea for my girlfriends birthday I had planned, it was really lovely everything was great, even the birthday desert they did for her was a beautiful touch, she loved the whole experience, & I was soooo pleased. Robert looked after us, & was a lovely & very helpful member of staff.
Certainly recomend to all our friends, & will return in the future.
I met a friend to celebrate her birthday at this location and we had an amazing experience. The tea was delicious; the tea cups and arrangement of everything was very elegant and unique; the staff were friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond (the waitress brought my friend a birthday cake and before we left another waiter brought her a rose, it was very thoughtful and made the experience incredibly memorable). Highly recommend to anyone!
Had afternoon tea at Scoff & Banter to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was fabulous. Excellent service, very good choice from the menu and lovely surroundings. We stayed for about two hours with absolutely no pressure on us to vacate our table. Special thanks to Roberto for being so attentive. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea with so many options in each section of the menu. Totally delicious and what made the experience even more enjoyable was the lovely lovely staff. I really appreciated the extra birthday cake and white rose. I would 100% recommend.
We went to Scoff and Banter for afternoon tea for my birthday with two friends. One of which is vegetarian but the staff there were amazing and made her a special menu just for her! The service was amazing, making sure we always had what we wanted, always topping up our drinks and even surprising me with a birthday plank and cake and a rose! The atmosphere was lovely, the food was amazing but the staff really made this place what it is! AMAZING.
Had the most amazing birthday celebration at Scoff & Banter. We were a party of 12 and opted for the afternoon tea for £34 with a free bottle of Prosecco between 2. The food was absolutely delicious, venue was very nice, great atmosphere and top class service! Special mention to our Hungarian waiter Csaba who was an absolute delight. The restaurant surpsied me with a birthday dessert with a candle to blow out which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!
What a wonderful experience, I’ve had quite a few afternoon teas and this one is definitely the best. It’s so nice to be able to choose items off the menu to personalise the experience and having hot items is such a treat. The complimentary bottle of prosecco and friendly, attentive staff just made the whole thing an occasion I would certainly love to repeat and highly recommend. Thank you for such an enjoyable occasion!
