chilli, spring onion and coriander
Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed the restaurant will certainly be back
Service was very bad, very rude staff and customers. They cannot and do not say thank you to us after we finsihed eating (no greetings). I felt very uncomfortable when I was eating in the restaurant. I never expect how a highly reputable restaurant in the heart of London can treat us, customers, in a completely disgrace manner. I ate at Scott’s for the first time and never have I ever been to a restaurant that treat us as if we did not pay for our dining experience and treat us in the worst and rudest manners a restaurant ever does. I hope that Scott’s will improve their service and kindness to all customers in the future.
We went for our wedding anniversary. We arrived and immediately noticed how loud and noisy the atmosphere (very different to our wonderful experience in August). We were seated in a gangway leading to the kitchen and the private dining room which was being used. We moved to a banquette seat which was just as well as the group who sat down behind us were corporate colleagues on a very good night out clearly on company money. They arrived fairly drunk and loud already and continued to drink etc and get louder. The swearing also increased the further the evening wore on. The other side of us was another corporate group of colleagues who were arrogantly loud on espresso martinis and wine (bear in mind this was still only 7:15pm). They started betting drinks and forfeits and throwing bread and napkins - having worked on a trading floor I felt I was straight back there. Very disappointing and yobbish behaviour allowed at Scott's. Not a single member of staff slowed their drinking down or asked them to consider other diners. The service for us initially was attentive and then as soon as we had eaten our main course we struggled to get anyone's attention to order further food or coffee etc. We absolutely loved Scott's but I am not sure if Covid has created a feeling of "last night out before another lockdown" attitude or if this rowdy behaviour is normal at Scott's. When we left we mentioned it to the manager and although horrified I think it isn't a great reflection on the management if they had no idea this behaviour was going on...although they were walking around the restaurant all evening so I am not entirely sure how they could have missed it. They definitely would have seen the rowdiness.
Delightful staff, easy to get attention and excellent skills at keeping your glass topped up.
Oysters were quite creamy - I’d forgotten that they are only just out of breeding - I wish I’d known this - they were just OK. My smoked eel was delicious, my wife’s escargot and monkfish were very interesting and an enjoyable combination good. We shared oven cooked turbot - nicely filleted by our waiter. It was lovely. Wines were nice but the bottle I chose cost £72 - it retails for only around £12 at many uk outlets.
Total bill £311 for the 2 of us.
First time out since the lockdown started and it was special. The food and service was outstanding as always and felt they were concerned about our well-being. Really well spaced and sanitiser on the table. We will go back soon.
Simply the best restaurant in London. They het it right every time.
Always amazing. The top place for a fantastic fish experience. You have to order the Diver sole, made to perfection.
Sublime and sure-footed as usual!
Scotts is wonderful. I took my boyfriend here for dinner for his birthday and we both really enjoyed it. The food was lovely and the staff was very attentive. I then went again with my friends for lunch and it was perfect - showing that it is good for both occasions. The bill is pricey though, but very much worth it. Brilliant for celebrations or casual lunch/dinners. If your ever in Mayfair I recommend!
Probably the best meal I have ever had!! Champagne, oysters, octopus, salmon, chocolate fondant. Fabulous service and great atmosphere! Would highly recommend!
Had a very enjoyable birthday lunch food and service excellent
Visited Scott’s on Monday evening for my girlfriend’s birthday. To say that we had a good evening was an understatement. The atmosphere was just right for these Covid times. Not too busy but not quiet either. I was very grateful that we were given a table of the type I had requested. The oysters and the scallops that we had to start were large and fresh. Having been to Sheekey’s a fair few times in the past (though this was the first time I had visited Scott’s) I knew the kind of quality to expect and it was more than delivered. For main course we both had the lobster thermidor which was absolutely brilliant, as were the fries and the creamed spinach. The peach melba both looked and tasted delicious for dessert (a real work of art) and Scott’s provided a kind birthday message on my girlfriend’s chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream. The service was impeccable (friendly and professional) throughout (a bit of a contrast to our visit to the Ivy Asia earlier on in the year). The tables were separated with discreet glass screens to avoid Covid transmission and the table even came with a small bottle of decent smelling hand sanitizer as well (as opposed to the large pump bottles of pungent sanitizer found elsewhere if at all). It was great to be in a restaurant that wasn’t using Covid as an excuse for sub-standard service. I had considered going to Sexy Fish but the Reservation team confirmed that they had a DJ even on Monday nights. After our experience at the Ivy Asia in St Paul’s, where the food was good but we could not hear ourselves think, let alone hold a conversation without shouting at each other, I thought it was perhaps wiser to go with Scott’s - a decision that I did not regret! My girlfriend had a great evening on her birthday. I had a great time. Overall a memorable night.
Brilliant dinner last Saturday
Superb fish brilliantly cooked, service faultless
Superb restaurant highly recommended. Food was absolutely amazing.
Booked for lunch at 2.30 pm with my older daughter a couple of days in advance. She wanted to sit at the bar/counter but they did offer us a seat at a table. She was glass of Champagne and I was Bloody Mary. Restaurant full but not bursting.
Ordered oyster selection with wild boar sausages and slightly disappointed to find that the sausages came in a separate side dish (not much Chef-ing involved in the preparation). Selection of oysters not explained but when asked I was pleased to have guessed correctly. Added a couple of oysters fried in batter with chilli and avocado and they were the best of the lot at £5.45 each. All the usual accompaniments there as well.
I always have John Dory here and it has changed to accompanying artichoke and spinach rather than razor clams. You can still have clams in XO sauce and I nearly had that because I’ve never been able to make it myself. Daughter had Turbot and we shared chips and broccoli. She had a glass of Meursault but I couldn’t find anything on the wine list which was too pricey and can of Guinness in a chilled glass was a great choice with fish and oysters.
Meal finished off with dessert, choccy truffles and coffee. We could see them making ceviches and they all looked good.
Yes it’s expensive but you pay for the real estate, the atmosphere is great and the greeter treated us exactly the same as the uk’s best known former supermodel (KM) who popped in for a while. Definitely be back and maybe try something different to John Dory but stick to the oysters.
Not the best meal we’ve had at Scott’s - we chose the hot seafood platter - appalling langostines - I told the waiter - who was not interested at all !
Shame as the good normally is great !
The waiter did not ask if we had allergies, dish included pork not impressed with the resolution offered either.
I’m a regular diner at Scott’s and it was wonderful to be back
Always good quality
Service was attentive and friendly . Food was fabulous from the starter of salmon tartare to the deliciously cooked John Dory and sea bass . Simple yet divine . The chocolate fondant was on another level of sublime !
Unbeatable as always! no surprises that they are an institution and so glad that we haven't lost this wonderful gem to covid. Thankyou a million times more
A simple early supper for four, done as you would expect with great aplomb. A special mention for the steak option which is available for the non fish eaters, for such a notable fish restaurant Scott’s knocks out one hell of a rib eye, it’s as as good as anything you’ll get around town.
Always a great experience. Will be back very soon
Amazing special lunch at scotts. The whole team are wonderful and took great care of us
Great food. We booked a terrace table which was fine but some traffic noise and wasps were a downside. Service was poor and unfriendly. Despite reserving weeks in advance no table was set up for us, drinks orders arrived separately, and waiters were distracted and seemingly unhappy in their work. The same food in a friendlier and more welcoming environment would have been perfect.
Great service, and delicious lobster. Would recommend the sharing cheesecake too. 🥰
Scotts embodies old school elegance, service and ambiance with energetic and friendly modern standards. I always like to sit at the rear of the restaurant where the crisp white tablecloths set the stage for a special meal. The food is exceptional whatever you choose and the waiting staff are friendly and attentive without being overly so, which is sometimes a minus with special restaurants. I hate to find that everyone who passes my table tries to top up the wine glasses - in Scotts you are left alone but still looked after in a top drawer way. The wines are a little pricey but a good St Veran at £70 hits the spot for me. No fireworks or starbursts just excellent, reliable top quality dining. Certainly one of my favourite restaurants in London. The original Ivy or the Caprice are the only parallels for comparison.
Love this restaurant. Service friendly and efficient and food is fabulous.
Great fish/seafood, excellent service, good Covid H&S measures in place.
We sat at the counter and thoroughly enjoyed the evening, lovely for a special occasion.
I can’t wait to come back!
Excellent service, attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The food was fantastic, beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. Great evening all round.
Never fails to deliver it all, fantastic food, fantastic service and fantastic atmosphere
Amazing meal, faultless food. We got there 5 mins early and restaurant were still doing their team meeting and left us waiting until 1205pm in lobby and they didn’t seem organised when they came out. Apart from that meal was so good
Impeccable first class service and exquisite food. Everything we ordered was exceptional!
Fantastic meal for my partners birthday. The staff were all polite and welcoming, even the people who weren’t seeing to us. Highly recommend and will be returning very soon.
Dismissive/bordering on all-out rude front of house staff, possibly the worst I've experienced in London, saved by the great bar/service staff and wonderful food.
Nice food as ever but probably the worst table in the restaurant. At the back in a corner looking into dirty plate collection zone - a bit disappointing on a lovely evening, not sure what we did! Our waiter was great. One waitress looked like she’d been crying. Haven’t been for a while due to lockdown but not sure I’d rush back.
