We had a family dinner a day two before the virus shutdown. Management folks took care of us because all of the hourly folks had been laid off. All of our 6 entrees were very good, and all of the staff were upbeat and helpful in an uncertain time.

We went back to Sea Change after not being in the resturant for some time and found it extremely enjoyable and pleasant. We enjoyed the service and dining.
So lovely. Seafood was excellent. Great waiter . Table was a bit dark and needed more lighting.
Great service and meal before going to a show at the Guthrie
Have been here many times and they changed the brunch menu recently (i think). Oysters are always good but I ordered the Tuna Tar Tar and I have eaten it all over the US and World and I have never had it quite like that. Not saying it was bad just not to my liking not at all. Service is always good and we make a point to eat at Sea Change whenever we drive up from Rochester to go to a show and sometimes we just go for the food.
Great pre-theater venue. Diverse menu that tends towards seafood. Our waiter thoroughly explained the menu. The meal was nicely spaced. The ambiance is great. Noise level is subdued and easy to carry on a conversation. We also stopped in for a post-theater drink and had a very pleasant conversation. Sea Change is a great restaurant both for the theater and would be a very pleasant stop once the show had started.
Went here just by chance and was pleasantly surprised. food was fantastic and wine list was well thought out.
We enjoyed brunch with friends prior to a 1:00 performance. Really enjoyed the bottomless mimosas. Likewise the sausage, marmalade, potatoes. Eggs were ok, could maybe use some added zip. Wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Will come again.
This was Sunday brunch before a matinee at the Guthrie, which was also excellent. Holly was my lovely server. She gave me some good menu tips for both food and drink. I had not had the Bitter Winter cocktail, and Holly said it was good, and so was the avocado/shrimp toast according to her. Right on both counts. I almost forgot. I started with 9 delicious oysters- 6 from the East Coast, from two sites in Canada, and 3 from Washington.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is always outstanding and the service is beyond compare. Ask for Peter as your server.
Great spot! The food was incredible! Everything we had, from drinks to appetizer to entrees & dessert was amazing! Our waiter, Peter, was friendly, attentive & fun! Will definitely go back again & again.

We were so impressed with our server, Kevin. He helped us pair beverages with appetizers, salads and our entrees. The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful! We will definitely go back to Sea Change.
Usually, yes I would recommend. However, my experience yesterday was not at all up to standards. My reservation was for 11:30 a.m. pre-play brunch. We did not get our food until approximately 12:25 p.m. If the restaurant was not in the Guthr building, I would have left.
Made a reservation for brunch before a Guthrie matinee. Upon entering this restaurant, one could tell that either the carpet desperately needed cleaning, or perhaps the odor from the garbage was filtering into the restaurant. Not pleasant. Service was poor. Orders were mixed up, food didn’t arrive for our small party at the same time, other couples were complaining and asking to speak with the manager. Coffee lukewarm, eggs cold and rubbery, served on cold plates. Won’t be going back after this experience.
Great food and usually prompt service. Yesterday was a little slow, however. Still worth it.

Great location for dinner before a show at the Guthrie. Our service was very good! There was a mix up on the pre dinner cocktails and our server took care of that immeadiatly with no questions asked.
The food was great! Got the wrong dish when it arrived but it was quickly fixed. Quiet in the restaurant and the restaurant has great views, every direction is a good view.

We just thought it was surprising that there were no sides offered. They said the chef was working on it. We shared a salad which was good. Our ribeye we each had for $38? It came with fries!! There was no other option. We could have went to a supper club and had the same ribeye with more side options. We love trying different restaurants around the twin cities and trying different foods. Again the ambiance and service was awesome!!
Went on Valentines Day. Ambiance was spot on as usual, and the specials for that day were well thought out. We tried the mussels with the 4 treatments as an appetizer, and they were unique and outstanding. My seabass was delightful, and my wife's scallops were prepared perfectly.

My husband was very happy with the trout, and I loved the grain salad with the addition of mascarpone added. It was a lovely dinner, though as a pescatarian, I would have appreciated a vegetarian or fish option that didn't include chili or siracha. (The trout was wrapped in ham.) Wonderful staff and very pleasant atmosphere.

My husband is finishing up school and achieved straight A’s in his most recent semester. We came here to celebrate. He is an avid fan of seafood and had never had high class seafood before. He now ranks the Octopus as his #1 favorite dish in his lifetime.
We both ordered the special fish and it was excellent. Loved the cauliflower purée. Would have liked even more! Outstanding service.
Sea Change is excellent and convenient to the Guthrie. And it is priced accordingly!
We are Guthrie season ticket holders, so we dine here at least several times per year. This experience was unfortunately not up to par. The entire staff seemed overwhelmed by a larger party dining in one part of the restaurant. There did not appear to be dedicated servers for that party, as our server kept going back and forth. Our cocktails arrived and were at least 1/3 underfilled. Meanwhile, we saw numerous cocktails go out full to other tables. Bread was dry. Dessert was a "flourless chocolate cake" but really looked like one small brownie broken up and scattered on the plate, with a small scoop of ice cream. Main courses were very good, but everything else marred the experience.

Our server was great! Made wonderful recommendations, we had the winter salad and trout. Both were very good! The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, perfect for us to visit with our friends. Highly recommend the Sea Change!
We have been to Sea Change quite a bit because of our Guthrie tickets and it keeps getting better and better. My husband likes the fact that he can have a conversation without shouting (as he says) and that the oysters are amazing. On this visit I loved the grain salad - outstanding. We always share a dessert if we have time and the apple and ligonberry tart was excellent.
The perfect place for a pre-dinner meal. Outstanding seafood menu with a couple of great meat options, too. Service very professional and very prompt. Highly recommend
We always eat at Sea Change before Guthrie performances. We just changed to matinees. We are very pleased with the lunch menu. Our server, James, was outstanding.

A reliable place for good food and service. New take and improvement on traditional iceberg salads. Entrees of branzino (sea bass) and Tex-Mex style pork chop were fantastic.
