Service was excellent, but food very overpriced for what it is!
Also I was expecting stunning views over the Thames, but didn't realise the restaurant was on the ground floor, so just looks out to a pedestrian pavement!
Waiter advised us to take what we want from the buffet in the next 15 minutes, as the kitchen would be changing courses - this was just 5 minutes after we’d tentatively decided in front of him that we would go for the more expensive option of the house breakfast, as opposed to individual dishes. When I told him that this made us feel rushed, and we should have been told before ordering, he became defensive and blamed reception staff for not telling us. No apologies offered, and full price including service was charged. We expected a relaxed brunch, but couldn’t wait to get out of there! Pity, because the food was nice, and so was the decor, and the view of the Thames.
Great brunch, recommend Shakshuka, and the bottomless Bloody Mary is bloody lovely
The worst service ever. We waited 45 minutes just to order a drink (we asked several times and were told someone was coming... but they didn’t), our starters hadn’t even arrived and we were told our mains were on their way?! If it wasn’t for our 86 year old Grandma we would have left and went elsewhere.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Maybe a wider selection of main courses needed.
Delicious food, lovely location, great service. I booked Sea Containers as a brunch for my husband's birthday and from start to finish, our experience was fantastic. We had bottomless drinks option and the waiting staff were so incredibly attentive to ensure our glasses were never empty. The food was brilliant (we had the chicken and waffles, truffle mac and cheese, avocado on rye bread, salad and smoked salmon) and beautifully presented. Staff were polite and helpful throughout our visit.
Little bit of a confusion with our brunch order. But there was 8 of us all ordering same meal with different requirements.
Excellent waiter that made us all feel special.
Will be back again soon thank you .
Fabulous brunch in perfect surroundings.
The waiting staff were attentive and friendly.
Our first visit to Sea Containers was beautiful so we were excited to invite some friends there to breakfast. Big disappointment! The service was sub-standard, the waiter ignore us for most of the time and then kept forgetting our request the rest of the time. The food was blah! Lovely spot especially the outside but the service sucked.
Very average and very overpriced for what the quality of food was.
Service was attentive but food was disappointing. Had Sirloin, which had a lot of fat and wasn’t cooked very well - quite chewy. All in all it was an alright experience but the price is much too high for the quality.
Sea containers is in a great location by the river and it looks great but the acoustics are terrible meaning that it is practically impossible to hear each other even at a small table. The food was ok but the Prosecco was terrible meaning that we upgraded to champagne at the bottomless brunch to avoid an awful hangover the next day. All very disappointing really. There are much better brunches available and I wouldn’t rush back
Try and get a window table as the view is amazing!
Had a pre-theatre dinner. Interesting and delicious food with lovely service. Made to feel very welcome. Will definitely revisit.
Service was terrible and ruined the evening. Food was late and the waiters could barely speak English
Great location, but the food really disappointed and the service was very slow. Had to wait for a long time for mains and when they came the sauces had clear been left to sit too long before being served. A lot of the dishes didn't quite work. They did refund the mains but it just wasn't a great experience for such a nice looking venue.
Lovely space, great food, great service. Try the oysters they are delicious 😋
I had advised at the time of booking that one of our party had allergies and, to be fair, the waitress dealt with it really well when we were looking at the menu. A burger was ordered to reflect these allergies however, when it arrived, they had been ignored and the burger was sent back. Five minutes later, a new burger arrived which was burnt on the outside and practically raw on the inside. Another member of my party ordered steak with a side salad. The steak wasn't cooked as specified and the side salad only consisted of a few green leaves and nothing else. This is not a cheap place to eat and the food was certainly not up to the standard expected for the price.
Shocking restaurant do not recommend at all. All tables in our section waited over an hour for food, when it did come orders were being sent to the wrong tables. Complete nightmare which ruined the special occasion. The manager when notified was unapologetic and just gave a shrug of the shoulders. Avoid at all costs
The food and service were great, but it was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other, which quickly becomes quite tiring. There wasn’t any music, but I think where we sat amplified all the ambient noises around us.
Our waiter seemed new , perhaps, but was very helpful and friendly helped provide good experience. Restaurant is close to the river , great views across the Thames. Theatre menu was surprisingly pleasing. I would go again . My family were all very full. Lovely lunch. Thanks
Wonderful service for a Sunday roast for 3. Our waiter was incredible attentive and when finding out we were celebrating an engagement he surprised us with a small congratulations dessert from the kitchen, a very nice touch.
Service & food quality were 5 star, will definitely be returning.
The food was delicious, cocktails amazing and service was professional and friendly, perfect setting by the river relaxed atmosphere...First time there and we loved it, will definitely come back more often 👍👍👍
Really enjoyed our meal here. Would recommend.
This is my second time for brunch. Sea Containers never disappoints. Delicious food and impeccable service.
Limited menu, dining experience below the standard of the rest of the hotel which is otherwise excellent.
Fabulous! We had the theatre menu with wine pairing- what excellent value! Lovely dishes - fab location & wonderful service - we will become regulars 😊
Lovely visit for my cousins 40th birthday! Bottomless brunch was well worth it!
If you do go then make sure you visit the roof bar first, its fantastic! The restaurant is good, but well, here goes why it wasn`t excellent.
Good points. Our table overlooked the kitchen brigade. A cheerful lot and fun to watch. But no stunning views of the river or North bank. Good choice of wine with reasonable budget wines from France. Thats appreciated with a table of five to pay for! The first waiter was simply fantastic and I gave him the go ahead to order the starters for the table. He was friendly and knew his stuff. The sharing starters were faboulous.
Another waiter took over and whilst he was efficient there was zero interaction. Part of going to a top restaurant is talking about the food and enjoying the efforts that have gone into it. We had to drag this out of him. Bit of a shame as he was pleasant but maybe needs a little more encoutagement to be more forward?
The Seabass was amazing.
A mix of highs and lows and with an average spend of £70 per head for food and just a little wine, I would have hoped for an excellent score.
Lovely lunch and great location Food was exceptional. Will definitely be back
The food was super, the staff were super, the menu was fairly priced. The only thing negative about the experience was that the place was filled with large groups of girls, so we could escape the very loud laughing, screaming and noise from the nearby tables, who were all clearly excited as they were very loud.
Food, location, architecture / decor and atmosphere was fantastic, I will definitely recommend and will be revisiting.
Small down side...we were on a prosecco brunch a couple of us did sit with empty glasses a couple of times and the waiter did spill prosecco on one of us (hair and top!), accidents happen though!
Although the food was lovely the bottomless option was not value for money. Service was rushed and we weren’t even given the option to finish our drinks before they would take it away which meant a lot of waste from their side. When we questioned them on this the excuse was that they need the table despite the fact we had booked this table prior. I would not recommend.
Great ambience and views. Lovely cocktails and the food was great. Fish tacos were amazing!
Just not good enough and didn’t give me the deal I booked for.
The restaurant is in a nice location by the River and we enjoyed our bank holiday lunch there but I’m not sure I would rush to go back. On the plus side: the service, ambience and food were generally quite good. The Berry Summer Pudding was especially good. On the negative side: the ‘background’ music was too loud. It was almost uncomfortable.
Great brunch options re bottomless alcohol. Nice setting to sit out in to watch the world go by. Staff very laid back so didn’t feel rushed. Lovely hotel overall.
Loved the venue and how accommodating they were of the babies that were with us!
Food was ok but the value and service more than made up for it!
Honestly the food was average - it was nice but not £55 for two mains and no wine nice. It wasn’t much different to a recent brunch in a local cafe in Plumstead. Service was great, the venue is beautiful, and the location is great but the food for me was underwhelming.
Food was incredible and service was great, our waiter ensured we were always topped up with mimosa to make the most of our brunch!
