I had advised at the time of booking that one of our party had allergies and, to be fair, the waitress dealt with it really well when we were looking at the menu. A burger was ordered to reflect these allergies however, when it arrived, they had been ignored and the burger was sent back. Five minutes later, a new burger arrived which was burnt on the outside and practically raw on the inside. Another member of my party ordered steak with a side salad. The steak wasn't cooked as specified and the side salad only consisted of a few green leaves and nothing else. This is not a cheap place to eat and the food was certainly not up to the standard expected for the price.
Shocking restaurant do not recommend at all. All tables in our section waited over an hour for food, when it did come orders were being sent to the wrong tables. Complete nightmare which ruined the special occasion. The manager when notified was unapologetic and just gave a shrug of the shoulders. Avoid at all costs
The food and service were great, but it was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other, which quickly becomes quite tiring. There wasn’t any music, but I think where we sat amplified all the ambient noises around us.
Our waiter seemed new , perhaps, but was very helpful and friendly helped provide good experience. Restaurant is close to the river , great views across the Thames. Theatre menu was surprisingly pleasing. I would go again . My family were all very full. Lovely lunch. Thanks
Wonderful service for a Sunday roast for 3. Our waiter was incredible attentive and when finding out we were celebrating an engagement he surprised us with a small congratulations dessert from the kitchen, a very nice touch.
Service & food quality were 5 star, will definitely be returning.
The food was delicious, cocktails amazing and service was professional and friendly, perfect setting by the river relaxed atmosphere...First time there and we loved it, will definitely come back more often 👍👍👍
Really enjoyed our meal here. Would recommend.
This is my second time for brunch. Sea Containers never disappoints. Delicious food and impeccable service.
Limited menu, dining experience below the standard of the rest of the hotel which is otherwise excellent.
Fabulous! We had the theatre menu with wine pairing- what excellent value! Lovely dishes - fab location & wonderful service - we will become regulars 😊
Lovely visit for my cousins 40th birthday! Bottomless brunch was well worth it!
If you do go then make sure you visit the roof bar first, its fantastic! The restaurant is good, but well, here goes why it wasn`t excellent.
Good points. Our table overlooked the kitchen brigade. A cheerful lot and fun to watch. But no stunning views of the river or North bank. Good choice of wine with reasonable budget wines from France. Thats appreciated with a table of five to pay for! The first waiter was simply fantastic and I gave him the go ahead to order the starters for the table. He was friendly and knew his stuff. The sharing starters were faboulous.
Another waiter took over and whilst he was efficient there was zero interaction. Part of going to a top restaurant is talking about the food and enjoying the efforts that have gone into it. We had to drag this out of him. Bit of a shame as he was pleasant but maybe needs a little more encoutagement to be more forward?
The Seabass was amazing.
A mix of highs and lows and with an average spend of £70 per head for food and just a little wine, I would have hoped for an excellent score.
Lovely lunch and great location Food was exceptional. Will definitely be back
The food was super, the staff were super, the menu was fairly priced. The only thing negative about the experience was that the place was filled with large groups of girls, so we could escape the very loud laughing, screaming and noise from the nearby tables, who were all clearly excited as they were very loud.
Food, location, architecture / decor and atmosphere was fantastic, I will definitely recommend and will be revisiting.
Small down side...we were on a prosecco brunch a couple of us did sit with empty glasses a couple of times and the waiter did spill prosecco on one of us (hair and top!), accidents happen though!
Although the food was lovely the bottomless option was not value for money. Service was rushed and we weren’t even given the option to finish our drinks before they would take it away which meant a lot of waste from their side. When we questioned them on this the excuse was that they need the table despite the fact we had booked this table prior. I would not recommend.
Just not good enough and didn’t give me the deal I booked for.
The restaurant is in a nice location by the River and we enjoyed our bank holiday lunch there but I’m not sure I would rush to go back. On the plus side: the service, ambience and food were generally quite good. The Berry Summer Pudding was especially good. On the negative side: the ‘background’ music was too loud. It was almost uncomfortable.
Great brunch options re bottomless alcohol. Nice setting to sit out in to watch the world go by. Staff very laid back so didn’t feel rushed. Lovely hotel overall.
Loved the venue and how accommodating they were of the babies that were with us!
Food was ok but the value and service more than made up for it!
Honestly the food was average - it was nice but not £55 for two mains and no wine nice. It wasn’t much different to a recent brunch in a local cafe in Plumstead. Service was great, the venue is beautiful, and the location is great but the food for me was underwhelming.
Food was incredible and service was great, our waiter ensured we were always topped up with mimosa to make the most of our brunch!
Beware: the ALL DAY menu is not available all day. It will save the disappointment of not being able to have what you’d chosen from the online menu. Also watch out for tables of “reality TV” wannabes, screeching their way through “all you can puke” Prosecco. If you can ignore all that, the service is good, the brunch menu is fine and you might salvage a good time. We did but we won’t be back.
Great table and views over the river, sadly the staff seemed disinterested, waited 40 minutes
The service was extremely slow. Even a bottle of wine took 20 mins to arrive. The food took another half an hour. When we spoke to someone, he was initially defensive but then was apologetic and then the food started coming more quickly. The ribs we ordered were bad. However some of the items were good and the ambience was good too
considering the pictures shown online and the lit up sign over the building it doesn't state there is a couple of different restaurants. I was expecting it to be a roof top bar otherwise I could of got the same quality of meal anywhere else with tourists walking past. you need to book for the 12th knot and there doesn't seem to be to many bookings as its always booked up.
Very poor service. Average food that was warm at best. Better burgers at Burger King, and the price!!!!!! And who doesn’t know what a Lemon, like and bitters” is?
Wonderful taster menu. Excellent value for money. Great experience.
I wouldn't rush back - food very average, I had the steak and eggs from the bruch menu, the steak was tough and tasteless. The service was hostile due to us arriving slightly late and were told the absolute last time for brunch order was 16.15. This was fine as we arrived at 4pm, however the other 2 in our party were slighlty later. The restuarant manager approached our table to lay down the law with regard to the 16.15 deadline, without any word of welcome or pleasantries He then proceeded to instruct the waitor to stand by our table and look at his watch every few seconds! I was about to get up and leave when our friends arrived and for the sake of ease we overlooked the hostile treatment and stayed. The bottomless prosecco deal was good value is about the best thing I can say!
Excellent Sunday brunch - I opted for a roast & bottomless beverage. The food was yummy, truffle mac & cheese is superb & our waiter Eloi was magnificent. A great birthday experience.
Was great food but man, the waiter was very pushy (wanted me to get bottomless prosecco for brunch) and seemed to be very irritated when I asked him to refrain from pouring more in my glass after I’d had enough after one glass (which is why I didn’t want the bottomless price in the first place!) Listen to your customers! I get you want to provide value, but man, I don’t want to feel like I’m being strange for not wanting to drink more!!!
Food was fabulous though!
The waiter was rude. Did not make you feel welcome. We arrived at 8. We shared a platter. Very nice. Main course we had 3 burger asked to be cooked medium rare! Plus 3 other meals. The burgers were cooked well done to medium. We did not complain because we didn’t get the main course till 10! After asking where was our food, I know it’s cooked to order! the restaurant wasn’t even busy. we were booked in to the Lyaness for 10! We didn’t complain about the food, because we was late for the cocktail bar. 10.30 we left the restaurant! Which resulted to only one drink in there. Because we had to catch a train home. In result the 3 people who had the burger were all sick 🤢 when they got home. The burger did have a twang! So many good reviews. I was so looking forward to the experience. It was a massive let down, To a very special occasion.
Our friend was visiting myomere from Dubai
Very nice food and lovely to try some new flavours and combinations. Wine was nice but of course everything is on the pricey side. We had a set menu with a voucher so cannot comment on portion size and value on a normal basis but good portions. Steak was a little tough in places but very tasty.
We were a large party of 11 and they managed to ensure our food arrived all together. Meal very nice and lovely drinks. Sadly a rainy day but view over Thames super.
Repas en famille
Eight of us went for Sunday brunch:lunch. The kitchen was very good to accommodate my gluten free need. We had 3 of the shared roast dinner options- chicken/beef and fish all were delicious. The side orders were nice too. We had a big round table and due to music it was quite hard to hear across the table- but it could be we are older and harder of hearing. Waiting staff were super and we would definitely go again. Dining chairs are really comfortable so ideal if a long chatty lunch with friends
Friendly staff in a pretty location. The food is clearly of good quality and the limitless prosecco for £19 is good value but that's as far as it goes. Small portions and high prices. Won't be repeating.
Booked a table for Sunday brunch after a heavy night. Just what the doctor ordered!
Great table by terrace, polite and friendly waiter. The food was delicious (we didn’t take up the £19 bottomless drinks but was a great offer). Good atmosphere with fab decor. Walked along Southbank, all in all a lovely way to spend a Sunday.
We were hugely impressed with our dining experience at the Sea Containers restaurant. We were staying at the Hotel for part of my partner’s birthday surprise weekend so I decided to book a meal in the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over-familiar or intrusive! We had three wonderful courses and all we can say is compliments to the Chefs. The food was sensational! The stand-out dish for me was the pan seared salmon but it would be hard to choose just one course as they were all scrumptious! The decor was gorgeous and the ambience was perfect for a great meal out. We also experienced breakfast in the restaurant the next morning and that was equally delicious and plentiful. Thank you so much! We will return.
