What Insiders Are Saying
Sea Containers is the very cool-looking restaurant inside the Mondrian Hotel. It’s great for breakfast and lunch meetings, and group dinners.
Good food and service, but being next to a table where the parents allowed their children to watch films on an iPad at full volume/with no headphones, spoilt the occasion. If diners doesn’t know how to be respectful to other diners, the restaurant staff need to tell them. Which didn’t happen on this occasion
Good overall experience but they struggled to accommodate my food allergy
Thank you for the warm welcome and friendly and efficient service. The food and drink were out of this world. The setting, especially as the sun set, was idyllic.
My partner and I mostly enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner at Sea Containers, with a nice atmosphere, a great view of the Thames, and very decent service.
However, the food was really nothing special -- I would describe it as 'just average', and certainly not worth the rather steep prices.
Food was amazing, location right in the river was idyllic, the service was really thoughtful and nice - not pushy or impatient! I can’t wait to go back!! Oh and the cocktail with passion fruit and fizz is a must!
We went for my brothers graduation meal earlier this week... the food tasted great and awesome value for money for the quality received... the atmosphere was not too busy, not too empty, and the presentation was fantastic! (food and surroundings).. But what made the visit memorable was the exceptional service received right from the moment we walked in, to choosing food and wine from the menu (very knowledgable staff).. right until had paid and left.. will definitely be back soon!!
Poor on every level. Food under table on arrival. Drinks didn't arrive. Food mediocre. Poor value for money. Case of all fur coat and no knickers unfortunately. The outlook was nice though. Real shame as it was a birthday treat for a friend. I should of played safe and went to somewhere I know. Cheesecake was poor and squid tough and monotonous. Shall not be going back.
Disappointed that service charge was auto added for party of 3 AND really disappointed as buffet breakfast. Not on. Otherwise lovely breakfast.
Brunch was good as drinks were topped up frequently. Food was nice but not the best steak. Fun atmosphere.
The bottomless brunch was very good. I did ask for my burger to be medium and it was definitely more well done; however, still tasty. The waiter was a little neglectful with topping up for the bubbles but I think he extended our time to make up for it.
It's a lovely venue and felt very special. Highly recommend it!
The restaurant and the location were amazing and the staff were very nice. Only criticism is the bottomless Prosecco was not as consistent as other brunches I have attended and also we were sat outside and when it began to rain there was no option to move to an inside table so ended up sitting at the bar to finish off the day
Minor issues as the atmosphere and food were really good
Lovely 12th floor bar for a pre lunch drink. Spacious, comfortable tables, calm and attentive staff, delightful humm of fun and enjoyment all around. Delicious food, cocktails and wine. Drinks a little pricey. Would happily visit again.
We visited for a bottomless brunch as a 40th birthday celebration. The food was delicious , the drinks were amazing and constantly topped up and the service was fantastic. We had a lovely waitress called Asimina who was extremely attentive . Loved our visit thank you
The food was outstanding, everything we ordered was great. The service was average - they were nice but we had to constantly reorder as they would just forget things.
Great atmosphere sat at the back of the patio just away from the Thames path crowds to enjoy a warm summer evening with friends. We shared the crab toast and padrón peppers which were both delicious. Main course menu choices didn’t appeal on a hot sunny day but small plates options meant the combination of ceviche tacos and kale salad was the perfect amount and absolutely delicious...as were the desserts! Service was sometimes a bit slow but nice that we weren’t rushed to turn tables on our 6pm reservation so stayed Late into the evening.
The service was amazing. Food was delicious but a little too expensive.
Ambience was great.. setting fabulous
Would go again but need to let my friends know the prices before hand
Lovely for a birthday trest
My birthday meal with family - very well treated by the team, attentive staff at all times. Lovely food and drinks. Great atmosphere with doors open to the riverside. Rather odd music playlist for a restaurant - this could be much better curated. I don’t expect to hear urban and house music (as much as I love it) in a smart restaurant setting. While everything was very pleasant and tasty I don’t think the quality matches the high cost, particularly for the puddings. The brownie was quite average flavoured and dry. Still had a great time overall and will definitely visit again for other occasions.
Great location on a sunny day. Food is above average, pleasant service and interesting menu.
Great venue and good vibe!
Super busy Saturday night with great weather. The service was super slow, we waited 45 mins for a starter. Otherwise a lovely place to enjoy sunshine.
Fabulous food, really delicious but service was TERRIBLE spilt olives, no drinks, wrong drinks, no drinks, wrong drinks, wrong drinks it was such a farce we just had to laugh shame as otherwise a really nice place
We had a fantastic birthday dinner and they managed to get us out as quickly as possible so we didn't miss our theatre show, so thank you
Excellent food and service. Was disappointed that I’d booked a table over a month in advance putting notes that I wanted a table outside and only on arrival was I told that outside could not be booked. I should have been told at point of booking this so I could have picked a venue with an outside I could book.
Absolutely loved it!
Bottomless Prosecco brunch and we both had steak and eggs with a few sides. The food was great, the service was excellent and sitting by the side of the Thames was lovely.
My only gripe was that steak and “eggs” should come with more than one egg!
Very good food (we shared a sea bass) marred by painfully slow service. Huge wait between starter and main, took ages to get a glass of wine and when food came we had to ask for cutlery and plates. Then asked for condiments which didn’t come until we had finished eating so they sent us some more chips as an apology. Then spent an incredibly long time waiting for the bill. Very little acknowledgement or attempts to rectify poor service. Rude when I went up to ask for the bill. I bought my mum here who was visiting. Ruined a nice evening.
Good location and the rooftop bar a great location for a pre dinner cocktail. Staff very friendly and food delicious. Very expensive wine list but I guess that we to be expected. Ok for a special occasion but there are less expensive places just as good.
View is great and food very good, our waiter was very stressed , maybe they were under staffed, not a man that enjoyed his job
What a fantastic experience! We booked the 3 course set menu. It turned out to be a tasting menu so we didnt have to choose between anything we just got everything on the menu plus a glass of bubbles!
The food was delicious. Make sure you leave enough time. We were in a bit of a rush as we were going to the cinema so I would have like more time to enjoy the fabulous food and maybe have a few more drinks.
The service was exceptional our waiter was extremely helpful and very friendly.
I'd definitely be back and have recommended this off to friends.
Great place, albeit a little expensive. Very much deserves its excellent reputation. Really enjoyed the company of our server too, had a great time!
A lovely dining experience. Attentive staff, food very fresh tasting, seasoned perfectly without overdoing it, and served piping hot - perfect. Menu was a tiny bit limited, though we ended up sharing a whole sea bass which was delicious. My friend is gluten free and we were both surprised that there was no allergens menu, which seemed a little outdated. Slightly disappointed that the main restaurant sits a foot lower than the Bankside tables on the terrace, so not as good a view (though the skyline is currently littered with cranes anyway!) All in all, a very nice experience, I would go again!
Second visit for the bottomless brunch, food was great as was the service - although this time we both had empty glasses at some point where as previously our glasses were constantly topped up. I wnet for the burger which was great and my wife had the salmon bagel which again was great - had a couple of sides to accompany it and the mac'n'cheese was fantastic. Will definitely be back.
It was an amazing bottomless brunch. The quality of the food and drinks was great but especially the service. Our waiter Jose was on it refilling glasses without us asking and being extremely welcoming. We will be back!
I've booked at 22:45 and the kitchen closes at 23:00. Why they open a slot 15 min before the kitchen closes? Very rude approach from the manager/ hoste to ask me to take a order fast due to this reason. I'll never come back.
Nice experience and good food, but very unattentive service bordering on ambivalence.
It is a very pleasant experience, sitting outside and looking across the river. Service can be a little slower, but when there is no rush, a perfect place to relax, eat good food, drink cold wine and people watch.
The wine list was eye wateringly expensive! When bottles average over a £100.00 - I would expect amazing service and not a waitress who has no idea what is in the wine list!! The view is great and my burger was very good.
Very friendly service a pleasant experience.
I have been before with five friends and we all enjoyed the lunch especially as we were seated at a round table making easier conversation.
We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks when we had finished the ones we had. It was VERY loud in there. Mixed reviews on the food - steak was alright, chicken was very good!!
Overall - Great ambience, relaxed vibe, good food. The Fish Pie was quite good, avoid the Ribs - on this occasion they were too fatty. Our fantastic waiter Emmanuel looked after us really well. Great job!
