Also important to know, we only accept cash payments.
My niece took me here for my bday , it was fun , quirky menu but that’s totally me !
Small dishes but all good and all tasty. and imaginative . I imagine it could be noisy at night on a Friday or Saturday but Thursday night was pleasant . Wine was good and desserts sounded good but didn’t par take to know as both needed a early night .
Delicious and inventive food. The broccoli side dish wasn’t quite cooked enough for my taste, but overall a truly special experience.
Tooting Market and Tooting Broadway are great locations with great restaurants, operating in small low tech kitchens. This is the best of them. The head chef is simply a genius. The menu is a series of small plates, covering veg, seafood and meat. Simply astonishing. Been back many times every time is as good. Amazing
Excellent quality food with in inventive touches that enhance classic dishes. Good wine selection too.
Excellent little restaurant in Broadway Market. I really can't understand the bad reviews - yes, it only takes cash (It's written at the entrance and on the menus), yes the food took marginally longer than you would expect in a large restaurant (but still only 10-15 minutes for mains on a packed Saturday night). The food, however, is literally immense. Perfectly cooked fish of the day in an incredible coconut curried sauce was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had, and I eat at decent restaurants regularly. Portion size was also very good, and I'm a pretty big guy.
I can see how some people may think the fish isn't cooked if they are used to average restaurant food, but I assure you these guys know what they are doing and it is spot-on. Service is also very good - relaxed and friendly, but also attentive enough. Perfect for the environment as, don't forget, you are in a market in Tooting, after all...
Great tasting fish and quality ingredients. Service was friendly and excellent.
We have eaten at sea garden a number of times and absolutely love it there. Unfortunately we had a poor experience last weekend. Given there is not a long menu, one the main dishes had sold out. This was the second time we’ve been to sea garden when they sold out of the same dish. Additionally we waited 30 mins for glasses so that we could drink some warm water, it took a further 5 mins to have the cocktails we ordered some time beforehand. We did feel very neglected at the table and considered leaving.
The waiting staff could see that this wasn’t acceptable and so gave us a complementary down on the house, unfortunately one of the party cannot eat oysters - so not ideal.
In short - we were disappointed with the waiting service and there clearly not being enough food in place to cater for menu demands - for this to hope twice to us, it would suggest the need to order in more octopus/pork ingredients. Given that you’re paying a lot of monies for your dinner tab sea Garden for Tooting Broadway area - it’s just not ok. Unfortunately at this time - I would not recommend your going here. Hopefully the team learn from these issues.
An absolutely incredible meal. The food was outstanding, as was the service. One of the best meals I've had in London and I can't wait to return!
Had a lovely time. Great food, great service and a great vibe - what’s not to love!
Food was well presented. The plates looked really good. However, taste-wise, they were just ok. Price-wise, i felt that i paid more for the work they put into the presentation rather than anything else, because for the same ingredients and a much lower price, i could have a better tasting meal elsewhere. Service was good, although it would’ve been nice to be able to read the menu of the day and review it, rather than hear it recited to me. I could still come back to try other menu items or order what I previously liked, and would probably also recommend the place to friends to try specific dishes only.
Mussels (£12) were good. Serving is generous. I could order it again.
Chips (£4) were also good, but on the small side.
Battered fish (£9) was well, battered fish—same as anywhere, but i liked the sauce.
Risotto was just ok. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Not for £14.
If you are considering the bbq surf and turf (£18) i would recommend that you try the litson kawali (£8.50) at ading’s kitchen instead. They are by no means similar dishes, but if you are looking for pork, try it the Filipino way. For the record, i have only eaten at ading’s kitchen twice, and am in no way associated to the owners or staff there. This recommendation is not solicited. I just really like their food.
Second time around, having been there a couple of months ago. Very enjoyable again, although only comment would be that the menu was broadly the same.
Amazing food every time and the best service to match!
Great seafood in tooting market, the portions sizes are perfect for sharing - will be back!
A great evening with friends but the value of the food was not the best. Also found the idea of ‘sharing plates’ not a good idea as they were too small to share. Also, if you are at a later time be aware they will run short so avoid booking after 2030
Fantastic food in a lively environment with fabulous staff. My favourite place to eat in Tooting. The Sea Dog Martini and Triple Cooked Chips are musts!
Took some colleagues to show them just how good this place is and they were delighted. They didn't expect such fine dining in a market!!
The warm chicken Caesar salad was amazing.
We are already planning our our next visit.
Lovely place, 100% will visit again!
Food and drink were delicious - outstanding presentation and very tasty! Staff were really friendly and ensured I had a wonderful evening. Atmosphere is buzzing - great place to visit after work! Can’t wait to visit again!
We love it here and have been 4/5 times over the last year or so. Food is amazing everytime, great quality, really fresh fish/seafood. Menu varies which is always nice. Lovely friendly staff and great cocktails. The market in general is much quieter on Sundays as lots of other places don't open, so you don't get quite the same atmosphere but still an awesome spot. Highly recommend. Fab cocktails too
Good points: very good service and the flavour of the food was excellent.
Areas to improve: extremely expensive for the portions you get, the portions are really small. After spending over £50 in food we went home and had dinner again because we were still very hungry. With so much choice of places nearby, we will try somewhere else next time.
So much excitement to visit this place and finally got a booking for Thursday evening. Unfortunately our visit was mixed - the food was fantastic, the drinks lovely, ambiance great but service and wait poor.
I think the single lady who was waitressing was on her own, the place was busy and she was struggling to cope. Unfortunately for her, her friendliness bordered on invasion and calling a fellow client a b*tch to us as a joke was not very funny.
It took 45minutes for the first drinks order, about an hour for the food and we had lost the will so didnt get any pudding.
Food was 4 out of 5
drinks 4 out of 5
Service a 2 and very pricey for what it is
Really Stunning food, a flavour journey, beautifully presented in the charm of tooting market. It shouldn’t work but it does. Not cheap but well worth it - finding another occasion to revisit soon
Great food with really friendly staff. A very enjoyable evening.
Top high end food in a fun setting. Staff lovely and clearly enjoyed working here. My only negative would be that the seating was quite uncomfortable.
The food was delicious- especially the crab burger- and the drinks were fab! would definitely recommend this restaurant to any seafood lovers!
We had a great evening at Sea Garden & Grill last Saturday night. 4 of us sat at the communal table. The market had a great atmosphere. We tried several different dishes and loved all of them. We will happily return and recommend to anyone.
We would always recommend Sea Garden & Grill! The food is delicious, the service second to none and the crew rock! See you soon xx
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Food was lovely. Staff very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.
What a find. Amazing food and brilliant staff. Sat at counter and great atmosphere. If you haven’t been, plan a trip soon!
Great food but very small portions :( tables are cramped and uneven, not cheap for a market stall. Very frendly staff and was given 2 glasses of free wine due to our order error. Will definitely go back and try the crab roll which had sold out :(
Amazing food and amazing service. These people care about food - definitely going back
Excellent dining experience. Would 10000% recommend this venue. Food was excellent. Unbelievable product given the limited space in which they work. Bravo.
Situated in Buzzing Tooting Broadway night market. Simple benches and tables which you may need to share but friendly service and outstanding food and large exotic gins. Not cheap but a unique dining experience not to be missed - need to book.
Amazing food and service! Make sure you book as the space is really small and be mindful of the fact that its small plates so the bill can increase really quickly.
Great food, very friendly staff.
The food and the service was outstanding. We will definitely go again.
Excellent friendly and welcoming staff.
Food was well presented and very good. Tuna tartare v good. Soft shell crab brioche v tasty and the seafood risotto cooked to perfection, al dente with a hint of lemon. The belly pork and octopus also delicious.
Not as good as the first time we went (and a bit pricier!) still a very decent meal but no wow factor. Recommend sitting at the counter which is fun to watch the kitchen.
Interesting location, in one of the covered markets in Tooting. A bit chilly for a winter's evening.
And the tables are just tables and benches, so not the most salubrious of surroundings. But the food more than makes up for it. Very fresh fish (they run the market stall opposite), all freshly cooked in front of you, and served by a very cheerful waitress.
So not fine dining. But great food and a great experience.
Fantastic food and service here as always.
Really amazing hidden gem in Tooting market. Simple and delicious.
