Charming bistro with good simple food and charming staff.
Charming, small French-style eaterie handily situated for the Park Theatre. The food is expertly prepared and surprisingly good. Specials are very good value. Relaxing ambience.
Amazing restaurant, quite a draft from the door but the food was so good we easily forgot!
Reasonably priced local run by friendly French man. Sadly the (very limited) menu is no longer very French, and nor is the wine list. Lacking in ambience (certainly woudl not impress a date).
good ambience and friendly staff. For good too.thanks you
Really good fun local restaurant
food was excellent as usual but they really need to get some heating in the dining room!
instead of relaxing over another glass we went home to warm up. another couple moved from the window seats while we were there. will still be going back but not until late April/May!
A short, but Very interesting menu and tasty food. Ox tongue to start, followed by venison. Lots of different flavours and good to try some new side dishes. It was a bit cold inside, but the service, good and settIng were all very good and well worth a revisit!
The food was fresh, seasonal, sophisticated and very good value for money. Mains start from £8 and I was pleasantly surprised by the diverse selection of ingredients and flavours. I ordered the mussels and Romanesco as a side which was really delicious.
Absolutely delicious halibut perfectly cooked, interesting vegetables on offer, warm and friendly atmosphere, efficient service, well priced wines, a really good neighbourhood restaurant.
Truly the best chips in London. Delicious food, great atmosphere and excellent value (particularly on the wine) Service was accommodating and friendly, but a bit scatty. After asking about gluten free options, a starter I was told would be fine then came out with croutons, so I had to wait for a replacement. As I was already the last to be served a starter (by a good five minutes) by the time a new one was made, everyone else had finished. The same thing happened again with the coffee, but as we were not in a hurry and the atmosphere was very calm and comfortable, this wasn’t really an issue. Look forward to the next meal here already.
Excellent food, let down a little by the unusually lacklustre service that particular night and fairly off coffee. However, they kindly removed the coffee from the bill and we enjoyed the meal very much.
A tranquil haven serving good-value food in a relaxing setting.
Great seasonal food, intimate restaurant in Finsbury Park
Outstanding in every respect. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant in North London offering magnificent cuisine and is deservedly popular. The menu is thoughtfully and creatively put together with something for everybody. The ingredients are fresh and freshly prepared with original vegetable dishes. This fish we ordered was superb. There's a good wine list all reasonably priced. The service cannot be faulted. Highly recommended.
My partner and I kept walking past this restaurant and every time said, we need to try that, it looks incredible. I think our expectations were slightly too high. As per my review, service and ambience were great - nice atmosphere but still quiet enough that it was romantic. The owner was very passionate and informative however it was almost necessary as the menu gave you little to no information. Clearly this was intentional as all main plates came solo. Just a slab of protein on a plate... Halibut... £18 for a piece of 300g fish, nothing else but a wedge of lemon. Hence no information as nothing else needed to be said. The quality was good, but I have had better elsewhere whilst getting more for my money. Same goes for all protein on the menu, lonely bits of meat on an empty white plate. In terms of food, the one stand out for us was the wine, absolutely outstanding for a reasonable price. Essentially, if you are going to come here, come before 7 to get steak and chips for £12 and a great bottle of red to go with it, that'll give you value for money!
Absolutely brilliant dinner. The food, wine and service was all perfect. They made us feel like their friends and gave us complimentary dessert wine with our desserts. Highly recommended!
As always a great evening with delicious food, seriously reasonably priced good wine and a wonderful welcoming ambiance. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in London - what a neighbourhood restaurant should be. Quality seasonal ingredients simply and perfectly cooked. My usually hard to please father was even gushing at how good the food was. If the rhubarb and custard doughnuts are on the menu they are worth the indulgence!
My friend and I had a really enjoyable meal here early on a Wednesday evening. The fact it was unbelievably busy early evening in midweek is testament to the Season Kitchen's wonderful offering. Bread was home baked and delicious. A starter of burratta with figs and pistachios was absolutely sublime. Mains of flat iron steak and oysters both with house made chunky chips were superb and exceptional value due to the pre-7pm offer. Our only regret was that we didn't have longer to dwell on the fantastic food as we were going to see a show at the Park Theatre just around the corner.
The food let the restaurant down.
Pity as everything else works.
Won't be returning and in fact cancelled a booking I had for the week after.
Wild trout with a side of chips and hispi was very very good. Starter of baby squid was slightly overcooked and dull. Wine was lovely and reasonably priced. Service was great!
I love this place! It is a cosy, relaxed setting. Tge menu is constantly changing to reflect lovally available produce and the food is good!!!
Excellent service too!
The service was very slow! It took a long time for our orders to be taken. Also, charging £1 per person for tap water! Not on!
We got to this restaurant as our favourite local restaurant, it was once my favourite restaurant in London, but at my last visit, I felt it lost a bit of its je ne sais quoi that kept it above the rest of other local restos. The wine list seems to have fallen for this fad of organic stuff, although we still found a good french burgundy, still precious. There is more steak now compared to the elaborate dishes we discovered when it started. Good news that the restaurant is successful, and now does take away, but we feel it now has to cater for the demand for steak et al, that sells, but I still hope they can keep up with the bib gourmand type cooking.
Small menu but very good food, reasonably priced wine, friendly service and free bottled water in abundance. Some of the starters were a bit small but otherwise we enjoyed an excellent dinner
Friendly service and excellent value. The flat iron was tender and the accompanying sauce was delicious. I will definitely go back
Took my parents for Sunday lunch. As ever, service was friendly and welcoming, food was beautifully cooked (their bread alone makes Season worth a visit), and I remain a fan of their wine pricing.
This modest looking restaurant on the Stroud Green Rd N4 conceals an outstanding restaurant. The menu is original and imaginative using rare and unusual ingredients in a creative way. I had an excellent octopus dish as a starter, my companion opted for mullet. The vegetables were fresh and superbly prepared. The ambiance is relaxing and the service relaxed, friendly and genuine. The wine list is comprehensive and once again some unusual vintages are available all at reasonable prices. All in all an outstanding dining experience. One of the best dining experiences I have had for some time. Recommended highly without reservation.
Consistently delicious steak and chips every time. Restaurant quite intimate, friendly and great value! Asked for more info about the complimentary bread and we were given the recipe to make at home ourselves (which we have) a lovely touch! Desserts were delicious, particularly the donuts which were utterly amazing!!! Highly recommend this place, head there for early dinner for even better value steak!
My girlfriend and I were looking for a local, cosy restaurant with a simple appreciation for good food and that's exactly what we found at Season Kitchen. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant throughout, the food was generous and good value (the Flat Iron steak in particular), well prepared and very tasty. In a world with endless 'small plate' and/or tapas type options, Season Kitchen presents a short menu with confidence and delivers on a very enjoyable dining experience.
Really lovely meal for a family birthday with great service and cosy atmosphere. Delicious food and very reasonable prices.
Intimate. Great food. Great service. Lots of attention to detail.
A bistro with michelin star cooking. Astonishing doughnuts desert. Superb smooth, light creamy soup. I never order steak on principle, but it does look good on other people's plates. A really nice place to eat and enjoy wine.
Overpriced. You pay over £20 for a piece of protein with no sides or vegetables. Ordering the latter brings your main up to a price I'd expect to pay in a top restaurant. Food nice but the prices are just greedy. I wouldn't return.
