Seasons Own Ice Cream
made from Stichill Jersey cream, served with shortbread
Excellent meal, beautifully presented and neatly served. Should be top choice for anyone looking for a good meal in the Galashiels Melrose area. A bit off the beaten track but not hard to find.
Warm reception, friendly and efficient service. First class food nicely presented.
A proper bistro style experience. Great local produce, cooked very well and perfect service. A local restaurant that deserves regular support. We'll be back as soon as we can.
Had an amazing meal, very delicious and delicate, service was outstanding
Wonderful family meal durring Christmas week 2020. All the food was outstanding. Can't praise enough. Great wine. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed. Also do a great carry out service during lockdown. A life saver. So lucky to have a great resturant like this on our doorstep.
Excellent food, locally sourced and beautifully cooked & presented.
We had not visited for a while but perhaps we should have made an effort because the food and service were excellent, certainly wont take so long to return.
The roe deer I had was one of the tastiest dishes I have ever had. My companion enjoyed her chicken but realised she doesn't really like the taste of pesto. Both desserts were very good.
For me, the setting distracted a bit. I don't go for the exceptional food in a school canteen style.
I have answered 'No' on the recommendation question because I never recommend anything to anybody. My tastes are not theirs. I will tell people about my meal but not make a recommendation.
I'm going to answer 'Live Sports' on the next page only to be able to get passed it. If I've said I wouldn't recommend it why are you asking what I would recommend? Poor form design.
And then I find I can't get passed the photo page if I don't have any photos. Very poor form design!
The food at Seasons is of a consistently high standard and it is our place to eat in the whole of the Scottish Borders.
The identity of all the suppliers illustrated in pictures on the walls of the restaurant helps emphasise the local nature of the produce purchased by Rodger & Bea and the quality of all the ingredients from seafood to local beef, venison, lamb and pork is very good.
Rodger is an inventive chef producing a variety of dishes and we have never been disappointed in any of our visits to Seasons.
Bea is a an accomplished very efficient front of house and the combination of good food and service from this couple ensures a lovely experience for diners who enjoy a quality meal out.
Delicious locally sourced food. Kind staff. Felt very safe and clean. Highly recommend for a treat.
A perfectly delicious Sunday lunch. Given the current Covid conditions Seasons really rose to the challenge to give us a comfortable and excellently cooked meal. We all enjoyed our various courses and it was such a treat to be able to sit and talk with family again. We couldn't recommend it more. A hidden gem!
Excellent lunch, brilliant chef and coudn't complain about anything!
First proper meal out since before covid. We felt very safe- restaurant has everything well planned and organised but still retains a friendly atmosphere. Very good menu- lots of choice and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
Excellent meal with no complaints from anybody in the group. We all agreed we would certainly return.
Seasons is always reliable quality, with local ingredients and skilled cookery coming together perfectly.
Wonderful food, lovely people and can’t wait to go again
As usual lovely food, friendly service and a great experience, even though COVID rules meant we were restricted to fizzy water with our lunch. We will be back to sample the wine menu again when we are allowed😀🍷
We definitely recommend Seasons. The food is delicious and the owner chef and front of house hostess were charming. Because we were there st a quiet time, it lacked atmosphere but that's hardly surprising in these difficult times.
We shall be back.
Interesting menu using local produce, well executed.
Delicious food with great attention to serving local produce. Loved the sharing platter to start with homemade bread, oatcakes and crackers. Steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and served with chips (which brought back great memories of my Granny’s!)
Ended with smooth and silky ice cream.
Service was friendly and attentive. A very enjoyable evening.
£££ but worth every penny.
Very pleasant evening. Fish soup is superb. Mains generally good. Limited vegetarian options disappointing. Service was excellent. Overall good in the current climate. Feels very safe.
Lovely meal, great choice of dishes to suit all tastes, lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful freshly cooked food using great local ingredients; charming service; a proper, decent restaurant that's, alas, a rarity in the UK but much more common in France or Italy. Wonderful!
Some food delicious but sadly fillet steak inedible - disappointing, but was not charged for my main course.
Have had amazing meals here in previous evenings.
Fantastic meal out, great quality food and a warm welcome
Lovely atmosphere and fresh, flavoursome food. Would have liked more vegetarian options but aware that menu is limited due to seasonal and available produce.
We enjoyed a delightful evening, with excellent food and service.
The food wasn’t quite up to the high standard we enjoyed on our first visit.
My second visit to Seasons and the food was just as good as last time.
Food quality, service and the ambience were fantastic. I had the cod which was beautifully cooked and my daughter has the superb venison.
Will definitely be back.
A fantastic wee restaurant the staff were amazing, and the food was out of this world. Loved the fact on the back of the menus it told you where they sourced all their local produce.
Excellent food, helpful and friendly owners and staff. A very positive experience.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with excellent food and service.
Seasons is a wonderful place to eat. The food is always exceptional, well presented and seasonal.
A great addition is the take away menu.
We enjoyed our Sunday lunch so much we have booked to return on Friday, our last night in the Borders.
We will look forward to returning next year and wish we had a Seasons in Derbyshire.
We wish this was our local restaurant. The service is friendly, and the food first class focussing on local ingredients, and since this is Scotland and the Borders that means really good. The only minor downside is the decor which is now looking a bit tired, but honestly the rest is so good you won't care much.
Their set up for Covid 19 was first rate and reassurring.
Wonderful meal as always at Seasons, the food is always that little bit different from the norm in the borders. The service and attention to detail is fantastic and warm and friendly as well. Have been to Seasons quite a few times and would not hesitate to go again. All in all a great restaurant and a brilliant asset to this part of the borders, not to be missed.
Lovely food, beautifully prepared and presented, only disappointments were the butter for the bread was cold and the ice cream had ice crystals in it.
Second time dining at Seasons and it was as excellent as first time, great food, lovely wine selection and superb service.
We had a memorably lovely evening last Saturday; it was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. After a very ward welcome, we enjoyed the house bread while we waited for our main courses. My husband said his roast roe deer with accompanying game pie was perfect, while my scallops melted in the mouth. We fully intend to come again and are planning our first orders to take away and eat at home. We were also impressed with the attention paid to the current distancing and hygiene rules, which in noway spoilt the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. Many thanks.
Fabulous meal at Seasons. The food was excellent. The choices were amazing. Struggled to decide as we wanted to try so many dishes. Goes without saying we will be back! Thank you so much for a lovely lunch with exceptional food and service
