We very much enjoyed our recent visit to Seasons. A warm welcome from all the staff and shown to our table without delay. An interesting menu with a varied choice, something for everyone I think. The food was well presented and we will not hesitate to return to Seasons before too long.
Great food in a quiet village. Off the beaten track but well worth the drive.
There was no atmosphere with few customers. The meal was average and the beer selection poor. We will not be returning any time soon.
Seasons is a gem of a restaurant, which we will be visiting more often. Bea was a lovely host and we really enjoyed Rogers fine food. We’ll be back.
Excellent and very tasty food and a little bit different. Eggs with chantarelles and truffle oil were just fantastic as was the Roe Deer. Sirloin Steak very tasty and perfectly cooked. Loved the bread served, the "carafe" of wine rather than a bottle and the choice of sweets. All in all a great night of dining.
Once again an absolutely beautiful meal. Great variety with lots of local ingredients. Bea is a great host and Roger’s cooking contains great flavours and is presented wonderfully. This really is a great little restaurant and a gem in the Scottish Borders. We have been here a few times now and will definitely be back.
My partner and I loved our visit to Seasons on Friday 17th Aug 2018. The staff were excellent and the restaurant is small and intimate. There was absolutely no pressure for us to finish and leave before we were ready, which was lovely. The food was outstandingly good, and it is great to know that you are also supporting local food suppliers/producers making the cost more reasonable. I have no hesitation in very highly recommending Seasons to all.
2 nd visit in just over a month. Yet again the whole experience was worth the drive . Very good choice and excellent service . A 3rd visit will almost certainly happen .
Over-rated. The pate and the ice cream were quite good, our entrees, steak and tagliatelle, were disappointing, especially after all the farm-to-table hype. Service was less than stellar.
We enjoyed an excellent evening at Seasons; well worth the 40 minute drive from our base in Peebles. The restaurant fulfilled our every expectation, high quality food, attentive yet understated service, a good choice for vegetarians in our party, and perfect timing in ordering and serving our meal. Prices of food and drinks were perfectly pitched and we left thoroughly satisfied with the quality and value of our night out.
We went there with a friend from Glasgow who was staying with us, looking fora leisurely meal and the restaurant was ideal. No too noisy, efficient friendly and unobtrusive service. Good food and a wide range of wines and spirits. Maybe a bit pricey for everyday dining.
A very pleasant evening with excellent food and service. We shall certainly return to this lovely place.
Great food and service, lots of choice of local food, beautifully presented and so tasty. Will definitely return. Gluten free knowledge good and all dishes adaptable
We chose Seasons because it was recommended by the Scotsman as a good place to eat in the Borders. They weren't wrong. The food was delicious and we were well served by Bea who is part of the couple who run the place. The steak was the best that my husband had tasted in a long time. We also particularly enjoyed the tasting platter to start.
Very good value for money . The bread was delicious as was the spring lamb . Made to feel very welcome by the staff who delivered a very good level of service . Can park just outside the restaurant .
All four of us enjoyed the occasion. The food was excellent and staff were attentive. It was a very warm evening and we were delighted to find that we could take our dog with us to a table in the bar area. We shall look forward to our next meal there when we are in the neighbourhood.
We were sorry to have to leave without dessert in order to get to an early Book Festival event. But the roe deer and duck were beautifully cooked and the wine was good.
We had a lovely celebratory lunch. All the food was delicious from the home-made soda bread to the elderflower pannacotta. Seasonal and fresh, bursting with flavour. I would definitely recommend a visit. The wine of the month was also very enjoyable.
I have never ever heard such appreciative noises coming from my husband during a meal! Talk about that scene in When Harry met Sally, it was repeated in Seasons. Highly recommended. We ate there on Sunday and returning on Thursday. Hope that says something about the place.
We love this restaurant. Excellent food and friendly service.
Another excellent meal at Seasons. Fresh local produce, creatively cooked with a wine list and service service to match
We had a very pleasant evening, enjoyed food service and atmosphere
Enjoyed a great meal with our friends whilst walking the Borders Abbeys Way. The food was beautifully presented and we were made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
It's so good I wish we lived closer, we'd be there every week.
Welcome from the owner was genuine, the food was good the size of the portions spot on - we eat out quite often and regret having to leave food simply because the portions were too large. We dined there on Sunday lunchtime, they are closed Monday and Tuesday but open Wednesday evening .... when we returned having had a busy day and not wanting to face cooking! Definitely on our list as a place to go, value excellent and on our return we asked to change the fixed menu, the owner was ahead of us on the request and its granting! Will even try the grandchildren out on them - the ultimate test!
absolutely outstandng, scottish slow food at its best. the best meal we had in scotland during the 10 day trip
Been several times before, but this turned out to be a lovely Sunday lunch. Very peaceful, with good food, excellent wine and attentive service.
We were delighted to find "Seasons" whilst on holiday in the area. The food is very much locally-sourced, seasonal and immaculately cooked. Service and knowledge of staff about the ingredients was excellent. We would definitely visit again if we're in the area.
Beautiful. Restaurant. Very relaxed and cosy.service very good. Food all local sorced. Menu changes monthly. Recommend to book as very busy.
Absolutely wonderful Scottish food. Some of the best we've ever had. Great for a special occasion but good value enough for a regular treat. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!
Having visited Seasons on a previous break in Gattonside, we were delighted to have dinner there on 2 of our 3 nights stay. A stylish, relaxed, informal small restaurant serving top notch food cooked to perfection by Roger and served with cheery, courteous, efficiency by Bea. The perfect dining experience.
Unassuming restaurant. Quiet and friendly. Food excellent.
Fantastic menu, outstanding presentation, locally sourced ingredients.
We booked this for my birthday meal out without our two small children, and as these occasions are very rare we wanted something special. All in all, the food, service and overall experience certainly hit the spot. I had crab for starter; roast cod with scallops for main, my husband opted for pork terrine followed by sirloin, every single dish was outstanding, scallops melted in my mouth! We also managed to share a trio of delicious desserts. Highly highly recommend this place, it is a hidden gem! Just book and go!
Th restaurant was very quiet due to recent snow, which was great for our little boy to run around. The food and service we received was excellent. It was a lovely meal to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday
Amidst some very wintery weather and with supply route just reestablished, Roger and Bea did us proud. Everything was as locally sourced as possible with cheese soufflé and risotto starters, folllwed by beautiful cod and scallop main with a delicately herbed sauce. For sweet, we sampled the trio greatest hits and the wonderfully fruity creamy Selkirk Bannock bread and butter pudding! Just the thing for a snowy night where we had walked through the snow to meet fellow villagers who walked from the opposite end! Bea’s service was friendly, caring and professional. Very lucky to live so near to this excellent restaurant which never disappoints.
Excellent food in a really cosy atmosphere. Will def be back.
Loved our meal on Valentine's week. We're complimented with a glass of fizz on arrival. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious and was very fast. Enjoyed it greatly! Will definitely be back
Very good food and friendly caring staff. Owners take pride in what they source and produce. We had fantastic tender lamb and succulent scallops which we could not fault. Nice atmosphere lighting. Shame there were not more people in that night to enjoy the food (road closure perhaps to blame). Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The fish platter for starter is superb. All done in house including the smoked salmon. Our new favourite. Can't really pick a favourite as what have had so far is all good. Service is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend
