Enjoyed a great meal with our friends whilst walking the Borders Abbeys Way. The food was beautifully presented and we were made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
It's so good I wish we lived closer, we'd be there every week.
Welcome from the owner was genuine, the food was good the size of the portions spot on - we eat out quite often and regret having to leave food simply because the portions were too large. We dined there on Sunday lunchtime, they are closed Monday and Tuesday but open Wednesday evening .... when we returned having had a busy day and not wanting to face cooking! Definitely on our list as a place to go, value excellent and on our return we asked to change the fixed menu, the owner was ahead of us on the request and its granting! Will even try the grandchildren out on them - the ultimate test!
absolutely outstandng, scottish slow food at its best. the best meal we had in scotland during the 10 day trip
Been several times before, but this turned out to be a lovely Sunday lunch. Very peaceful, with good food, excellent wine and attentive service.
We were delighted to find "Seasons" whilst on holiday in the area. The food is very much locally-sourced, seasonal and immaculately cooked. Service and knowledge of staff about the ingredients was excellent. We would definitely visit again if we're in the area.
Beautiful. Restaurant. Very relaxed and cosy.service very good. Food all local sorced. Menu changes monthly. Recommend to book as very busy.
Absolutely wonderful Scottish food. Some of the best we've ever had. Great for a special occasion but good value enough for a regular treat. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!
Having visited Seasons on a previous break in Gattonside, we were delighted to have dinner there on 2 of our 3 nights stay. A stylish, relaxed, informal small restaurant serving top notch food cooked to perfection by Roger and served with cheery, courteous, efficiency by Bea. The perfect dining experience.
Unassuming restaurant. Quiet and friendly. Food excellent.
Fantastic menu, outstanding presentation, locally sourced ingredients.
We booked this for my birthday meal out without our two small children, and as these occasions are very rare we wanted something special. All in all, the food, service and overall experience certainly hit the spot. I had crab for starter; roast cod with scallops for main, my husband opted for pork terrine followed by sirloin, every single dish was outstanding, scallops melted in my mouth! We also managed to share a trio of delicious desserts. Highly highly recommend this place, it is a hidden gem! Just book and go!
Th restaurant was very quiet due to recent snow, which was great for our little boy to run around. The food and service we received was excellent. It was a lovely meal to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday
Amidst some very wintery weather and with supply route just reestablished, Roger and Bea did us proud. Everything was as locally sourced as possible with cheese soufflé and risotto starters, folllwed by beautiful cod and scallop main with a delicately herbed sauce. For sweet, we sampled the trio greatest hits and the wonderfully fruity creamy Selkirk Bannock bread and butter pudding! Just the thing for a snowy night where we had walked through the snow to meet fellow villagers who walked from the opposite end! Bea’s service was friendly, caring and professional. Very lucky to live so near to this excellent restaurant which never disappoints.
Excellent food in a really cosy atmosphere. Will def be back.
Loved our meal on Valentine's week. We're complimented with a glass of fizz on arrival. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious and was very fast. Enjoyed it greatly! Will definitely be back
Very good food and friendly caring staff. Owners take pride in what they source and produce. We had fantastic tender lamb and succulent scallops which we could not fault. Nice atmosphere lighting. Shame there were not more people in that night to enjoy the food (road closure perhaps to blame). Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The fish platter for starter is superb. All done in house including the smoked salmon. Our new favourite. Can't really pick a favourite as what have had so far is all good. Service is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend
Great service, good menu, good wine list. Fabulous food, really imaginative and provenance of just about everything stated. My only criticism would be that the menu was in really small print and despite having my glasses the dim lighting (good ambience) made it hard to read. We had a great meal, service, food and indeed price hard to fault.
All good. Good wine list too. All cooked fresh if have allergy or dislike for an ingredient very flexible (within reason of course) never disappointed
A great local restaurant. Good food which is locally sourced, friendly helpful staff and a fine wine list. Oh and we can walk here from home..........what more do you need?
Had a great meal in very friendly surroundings with attentive staff. Food was superb. Thank you.
Had a really enjoyable first visit and left with full stomachs, after eating some gloriously-cooked food! Will definitely be returning!
Excellent warm, friendly service and delicious food.
We've been to Seasons a few times and have never been disappointed. They truly go the extra mile with service and using local farmers and suppliers, including local ingredients. Well worth the drive and an amazing local find. If only I could give it more stars!
One of the best places to eat in the borders! Fab food! Will be back!
Full of flavour - totally delicious! Family reunion with brother travelling from Clitheroe and me from Glasgow to meet up with Borders based sister.
Girl who served us was delightful - just the right amount of customer care without being intrusive.
We returned to Seasons after a good experience while on holiday last year and were not disappointed.
We were staying locally. A great meal- everyone enjoyed the whole experience. The food was really tasty and looked good. Although we do not live locally, we will return.
We were well impressed with the quality of food. Something different you wouldn't make at home. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My kids loved the food and want to eat there every day, even my daughter who is a fuzzy eater. We will definitely come back.
Great meal with good choice
Bread and butter pudding the best I have ever had
Again everything was lovely. Have yet to have a bad meal or experience. Lived in the city of San Francisco before moving to The Borders and are happy to have found our go to restaurant for evenings with friends.
We have visited this restaurant on several occasions over the past two years when we have been on holiday in The Borders and every time we have received a warm welcome and delicious, interesting food.
Fabulous menu selection. All food was exceptional in flavor and presentation. One of the best restaurants we've visited in the U.K. Highly recommend, worth going out of your way.
Food was excellent, welcomed to our table and lovely bread laid out. Got our drinks but unfortunately that was the only drinks we had all through the meal, apart from the jug of water on the table. Main meal was served, after our plates were cleared we had a while to wait for the menu to choose dessert, a while after our order was taken, however we had then to wait more than 20 minutes for dessert to arrive, by that time we did not wish to wait further for tea/coffee, so asked for our bill.
Our first time visit. Friendly service, cosy atmosphere and lovely food. We shall definitely come back!
Bea was the perfect hostess! We would definitely go again. I was very impressed with all their locally sourced food and their close relationship with the suppliers.
We particularly enjoyed the local produce and innovative recipes. Presentation very attractive.
Our second evening in Melrose led us to "Seasons". We liked the starter very much, we had chantelleres on toast, it was easy done but very tasty only with garlic-butter, really good. As mains we had lamb and deer, both was perfect cooked, the deer was with cauliflower seasoned with curry and freshblackberries around which fit perfect to the deer. I really liked it. Unfortunately there was no draft beer, what we usually like to start with but they had the really good craft from the local brewery "tempest brewery" and the wine list was international and fitted good with the food. We had a Duc de Morny 2016, Picpoue de Pinet which was interesting with our choice of mains. Overall we really liked the evening, the atmosphere, the service and the food.
Only 2nd time been, welcomed like old locals. All is good. Venison. Burger nephews favourite. Hard to recommend just one dish. Go try for yourself, you'll go back.
