Seasons Ratings and Reviews
Very good food and friendly caring staff. Owners take pride in what they source and produce. We had fantastic tender lamb and succulent scallops which we could not fault. Nice atmosphere lighting. Shame there were not more people in that night to enjoy the food (road closure perhaps to blame). Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great service, good menu, good wine list. Fabulous food, really imaginative and provenance of just about everything stated. My only criticism would be that the menu was in really small print and despite having my glasses the dim lighting (good ambience) made it hard to read. We had a great meal, service, food and indeed price hard to fault.
We've been to Seasons a few times and have never been disappointed. They truly go the extra mile with service and using local farmers and suppliers, including local ingredients. Well worth the drive and an amazing local find. If only I could give it more stars!
We were well impressed with the quality of food. Something different you wouldn't make at home. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My kids loved the food and want to eat there every day, even my daughter who is a fuzzy eater. We will definitely come back.
We had a lovely meal beautifully cooked by Roger. It's nice to see a craftsman at work. Bea runs front of house as it should be run. Friendly and efficient. If you want fresh food cooked and presented properly then this is the place to come to.
First visit to Seasons although we had sampled Roger and Bea's cooking elsewhere so were neither surprised nor disappointed. We live about an hour and a half away but will definitely be back soon.
Our second evening in Melrose led us to "Seasons". We liked the starter very much, we had chantelleres on toast, it was easy done but very tasty only with garlic-butter, really good. As mains we had lamb and deer, both was perfect cooked, the deer was with cauliflower seasoned with curry and freshblackberries around which fit perfect to the deer. I really liked it. Unfortunately there was no draft beer, what we usually like to start with but they had the really good craft from the local brewery "tempest brewery" and the wine list was international and fitted good with the food. We had a Duc de Morny 2016, Picpoue de Pinet which was interesting with our choice of mains. Overall we really liked the evening, the atmosphere, the service and the food.
Food was excellent, welcomed to our table and lovely bread laid out. Got our drinks but unfortunately that was the only drinks we had all through the meal, apart from the jug of water on the table. Main meal was served, after our plates were cleared we had a while to wait for the menu to choose dessert, a while after our order was taken, however we had then to wait more than 20 minutes for dessert to arrive, by that time we did not wish to wait further for tea/coffee, so asked for our bill.
