Visited on Saturday evening, the food was ok but ordered a steak and got the smallest portion of fries ever. Service was really slow. Disappointing experience.
Excellent 3 course set menu lunch. Fantastic service
Fabulous staff and service.
Fantastic service as always
Double date two married couples. Lovely views and great setting. We had a very attentive waiter. Great selection of wines to accompany Devine food. Opted for pan friend scallops to start and they were perfect. Had main and desert from set menu both delicious. Great cocktails. We had a superb evening
great lunch
Stylish and smart surrounds welcomed us 2 diners to the Second Floor on a quiet week-day evening. Reception and waitressing staff were both friendly and at ease and helped create a welcome atmosphere despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty quiet. I loved the Paloma cocktail that came with the deal. Above all my memory of the food is of distinct but not overbearing flavours that just made the difference. Best of all was the pudding which seemed to be a fusion of dates and possibly treacle. Overall a most enjoyable evening at a set and affordable price.
Very good. Great value
Three courses and a cocktail, all exceedingly well presented and cooked to perfection. Service excellent and the ambiance good. The only niggle was the receptionist who said “we are very busy, but we’ve tried our best to seat you” despite us having booked weeks in advance. It didn’t spoil the evening though and would recommend.
Great value meal - 3 courses and a cocktail for £22. One of our party is Coeliac and they were happy to adapt every dish to make it suitable. Service was good, attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely be back
Surprising surroundings to think we were in a department store. Lovely layout and views from the right table. Friendly keen staff. Food was lovely.
Perhaps because it's in a department store and caters for shoppers wanting a bite to eat as well as diners, but the menu appears to be an odd hotchpotch of "fine dining" (like venison with celeriac choucroute and chard) and snacks (club sandwich) which is a bit odd. Pricing is similarly all over the place,
The Venison dish was good - other dishes were declared to be a bit "beige". Has a city view, which is nice if you're bringing guests from out of town.
Service wasn't particularly swift, and the drinks waiter didn't know the difference between a dry sherry and a sweet sherry.
We were combining a friend’s birthday with a get-together. Everything about our lunch experience was lovely. Thank you
Thank you for my birthday desert surprise !!!
We always enjoy either a meal or just an afternoon drink . The staff are very welcoming and the food is of a high standard
Always superb at HN. My office is just round the corner so I visit often for either drinks or meals with clients, guests or friends. The team there are excellent and always look afterward me and my guests well. A wonderful place with great people, exceptional service and superb food. Well worth the visit. Never had a bad time, drink or food there in the many years I have been going. A must visit if in Manchetser and the views out of the window are stunning too.
Really nice place.
My friends birthday.
The waitress noticed it was my friends 50th by the the gift bag on the table. She then brought over a plate of Macrons with a chocolate note written on the plate.
From start to finish a brilliant experience. The team couldn’t do enough for us an we were made to feel very special when celebrating my sisters birthday. Food was delicious. Great venue and setting. Would certainly recommend and return . The Maitre D on the day was fab.
The evening would have been great, if toptable hadn't cocked up the booking
Really enjoyed our meal here recently. Had the Winter menu which was lovely, nice choices for the price. Would definitely return. Hopefully will get a seat by the window next time to enjoy the views too!
Special deals are good but the a la carte is over priced . I am a good cook and rarely go out as I end up being disappointed. On this occasion I found the food bland and under seasoned . If you pay these prices you expect it to taste good
Food wasn’t great, by far the worst Christmas dinner I’ve had this year! The staff were friendly, they got something wrong on our order, he said he had realised he had got it wrong when bringing the food but didn’t think to say until I complained after. After this they were quick to refund it so no complaints there. It’s a lovely view and the staff were nice, it’s just a shame about the food! I must say, the starter was lovely, just not the other 2 courses!
Empty restaurant, loud dance music playing, clumsy waiter spilling wine on the floor, glass, table and menus. Had to be told to wipe the floor and not enough menu knowledge. Pricey tagliatelle starter was dry and unremarkable. Nothing like the London equivalent and nothing to remedy after feedback was given.
