I had slight higher expectations in terms of service. When we got there the dome was cold, the heating should have been turned on before the bookings. We were not asked if we needed more drinks .
The garden pods are absolutely lovely, cosy, and cute! They had blankets and heaters so it was very warm. The church played music in the background but I imagine we got lucky that it was a Sunday. Otherwise it is too bad that they don't have music, especially considering it is "BRIT Awards" themed!
The tea selection was varied and nice. And the cups and saucers were very pretty. However, the food was underwhelming, particularly the desserts. I had contacted them beforehand to ensure that they could accommodate a lactose-intolerant diet, which they assured me that they could. Sadly, this just meant no baked goods for me - only fruit, which is extremely disappointing when you are having afternoon tea for a special occasion! We were further disappointed with not receiving the glasses of champagne that came with our deal.
The staff were very kind and nice when present but they were not very attentive. We had to leave the pod and go inside a few times to ask for more hot water, tea, and our scones.
All in all, it's cute and lovely but do not go for the food or service but rather just a quirky, cosy location in a nice garden in busy London.
Family of 2 visit as wanted to experience the secret garden pods. Really enjoyed the meal from the a la carte menu and were well looked after by the staff.
Really enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Secret Garden. Only objection was the 12.5% service charge that was automatically added to the bill. I have no objection for tipping for good service, but would like the opportunity to decide myself. We asked for the service charge to be removed and then left a tip that we thought was suitable.
Absolutely lovely domes.
Service between courses was a bit slow and staff tried to charge me a minimum spend when it clearly stated on the website that this didn’t apply for lunch bookings.
Other than that, beautiful venue, great portion size and romantic atmosphere.
Perfect for special occasion or date!
Great food, fun atmosphere and good service. A real treat.
We came to the Secret Garden to celebrate a birthday with champagne and afternoon tea. The pod was cosy, and the fairy lights against the darkening sky made for a magical atmosphere. The food and service were excellent, too - thank you for a special and memorable celebration.
The location was magical. The tables were decorated beautifully and the food and service was fantastic! It was wonderful having a dome for just our family to have dinner. Very comfortable.
Bonne expérience pour le Jour de noël, sa change du traditionnel restaurant.
dommage pas de musique de fond dans le dôme
We had a lovely diner in the pods, the food was ok but the service and ambiance was amazing.
Lovely ambience to eat drink and chat with friends, would definitely recommend.
The experience was wonderful but the service was awful, the occasion was for my girlfriend birthday and as soon that we got there they first made a mistake by putting us in the wrong restaurant/table and I had to go 3 times to the reception to let them understand that we were accommodate in the wrong restaurant, while they were insisting and saying that it’s all booked while most of the Dome were available so at the end with no apologies or anything they told me “oh you right! We’ll move you to business class” and while we were moving the manager he didn’t want us to sit inside the Dome till everyone of my guest had to arrive, and I had to Insist again to first let us seat and starting to order! throughout the whole night we’ve been treated like children.
Even after ordering the birthday cake from the website in hopes that the birthday guest had no knowledge of it, the waiters still asked the birthday guest them self whether if they should bring the cake or not, which was an upsetting gesture!
I don’t want to blame the whole team for this caring services but specifically the receptionists and the manager who managed this all experience from 5 star to 1 star!
The experience dinning in an igloo is really lovely. Food is expensive for what is worth. Probably better food in a proper Chinese or Japanese restaurant. Service is very good.
What an amazing secret place. You would never know from street this place exists. The food is mostly Thai influenced and plenty of it. They do great job packaging extra food to go. Dining outside in your private see through “igloo” is such an awesome experience. Service was impeccable
Our visit was the highlight of our trip to London, Rita and Philippe were great hosts, breakfast was excellent, everything was perfect
Nuestra visita fue lo mas sobresaliente de nuestro viaje a Londres, Rita y Philippe fueron grandes anfitriones, el desayuno fue excelente, todo fue perfecto.
Really beautiful experience in the heart of London, great value for money, enjoyed the food.
We arrived on time for reservation and checked in with the lady at the restaurant. She said to go to the bar. We went to the bar, said we were checking in for reservation and were told to just go outside. We went outside and saw only the beach area. We asked a waitress going by and she said to sit anywhere. We waited then realized this was the wrong area completely. Walked around to the garden area and sat down as there was no hostess. We went back to bar area and were given 2 very messy surfboard shaped menus. Nothing appealing. Walked back inside to main restaurant and asked for their menu and ordered 3 appetizers at bar and were told they would come to table. An hour later still no food and no one has come to table.
Open table charged us money when we thought providing our card was a deposit
Won’t ever go back nor should you
I wanted something different to treat my friend and celebrate her birthday and new job.
The service was second to none and the food was so delicious.
You are whisked away from central London with no noise and it was like being in a private dining room
Food was ok. But the evening was made by the Staff, service and ambiance which were fantastic.
The staff was really friendly and nice, but the food, omg, the food was awful. We’ve got pancakes we couldn’t cut with a knife and croque monsieur with some kind of cheap cheese. Don’t recommend!!!
We had a great experience under the dome. Everyone loved it and will be talking about it forever!! Great food was had. Only blemish was the service. They stated out great but as the evening went on the wheels came off. Since there were only a few domes going it wasn’t like they were busy. For example, we ordered wine when they brought the main and it wasn’t delivered till almost everyone had finished the course. So, no reason not to add this experience to your life, but with a little care they would be 5 stars across the board!
The service was impeccable, but the food was below-par. The savory part of the afternoon tea was not bad, but the sweets were just not up to standard! The cakes were quite dry, and the scones were too dense
Amazing beautiful and the service is super thanks for making my daughters birthday special xxxx will come here regular❤️
It’s a very beautiful place, something different. Lovely, helpful and attentive staff. Very expensive for what you get, because it’s sharing style food. They served literally the Minimum, there was 8 of us we decided to have a mixture of £60 & £40 Menu, both were very much the same. The food was enough for 5 people. We had a nice time but food is Ever So little and Pricy. They need to be more Generous with their serving
It was a perfect night out with a group of friends. We went for the £60 per head menu. The food is yummy and plentiful. Staff were very attentive, no request was too much. It was exactly what we had in mind and we had a lovely time.
Ambience is great and food very good. Not a lot of rice for the large group as we were.
Service was slow. We buzzed for drinks etc and it took ages and lots of ringing which spoiled the atmosphere. There was some confusion about desserts too that made things a tad awkward.
Lovely place! Top class service, really nice food.!
Amazing service and welcoming staff . Food great for price . A wonderful experience
Venue and food was perfect for a business team dinner - intimate and fun - would definitely return.
Too expensive but nice atmosphere and different experience
Mainly drinks with lots of smaller, sharing plates. The food was delicious and the drinks were really great! Quite a fun experience!!
Great Asian food with very good service. We had a great evening
Lovely place and great for a group. Service was very slow but nice staff.
Extremely slow service, there were 5 pods, all fully occupied and only two waiters - we waited over an hour between courses without even being offered a drink. Not the waiters fault, they were simply totally under staffed. Not acceptable for anyone.
Amazing service, George was of great great service
Great concept to be in a garden in the center of London! Venue, Food and Service all were excellent! I can’t wait to go back and star gaze.
We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it happens to be on Christmas Eve.
The domes were beautifully set up: warm and cosy. We had a choice of menus and after choosing, the food kept on coming. It was pan- Asian. The food was delicious.
The service was excellent. There is a call button to call the waiter.
The ambience was great. We would go there again
We had a fabulous evening set in a wonderful location. A great start to our family Christmas.
Poor service from start to finish. We went for lunch, 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children. The concept works but the staff are unprepared. Cream for the afternoon tea was off and portions were unexceptable.
The minimum spend of £200 is easily achieved but to be honest I’d go elsewhere.
