About Serafina

Serafina opened its doors in 1991 as an intimate neighborhood restaurant located along Eastlake between the University and Downtown. Its ochre walls, reminiscent of the Tuscan landscape, its intimate, sultry atmosphere, outdoor garden seating and its authentic Italian cuisine make it a favorite with diners from around the Puget Sound and beyond. Serafina's philosophy is simple: Offer the freshest, highest quality ingredients, present the food in an honest and inviting way, and provide the casual warmth and soothing ambiance that echoes the welcoming embrace of an Italian home.
The ritual of coming together sharing wine and food with family and friends is the central motif in our lives. Italian food has an immediacy, honesty, and warmth; it possesses the spirit of a grandmother's wisdom and love. Italian food isn't about trailblazing alchemy or edible high fashion; Italian food is about staying connected—to each other, to the past, to the earth.

Serafina can cater in any format or venue – in your home, on a beach or at a park. Your guests will be transported to Italy when they taste the dishes recreated from meals enjoyed in friends' homes throughout Italy by Chef Christian Chandler. Wow! Our fave restaurant totally outdid themself for my birthday dinner. I had my fave, melanzanne, and we also had the arancini for appetizer. My hubby had the pasta with lobster sauce, clams and other fish and he loved it!! It’s his fave now!! He talked about it for three days! He had the special dessert which was fab and I had the special cheesecake which was amazing.
Staff are always friendly and professional and honestly a lot of the reason we keep going back!!
Special thanks to Beth, Kyle, Kelly, and Gabriel for making my birthday so special! They make getting older fun and delicious!!

We went to Serafina on Friday to celebrate an anniversary and had a great experience. The service was excellent; attentive but not overbearing. The staff was able to describe the food options and make recommendations - which we like to hear. The food was very good - we tend to order more courses and share each one. The beef special was fantastic - and we don't use that word too often. We recommend the restaurant to all our friends and we will be back.

We've been here a couple of times now and always enjoy it. The food is delicious and the menu us varied; there's something for just about everyone here. The cocktails are also terrific.

Everything was fine except that it was almost impossible to hear my friend across the table. So I'd recommend it for the food and service but not if two people wanted to sit and talk with one another.

We had the specials for the fish (tuna with haricot veggies and a special sauce and the freshly made pappardelle with wild mushrooms and brussel sprout leaves. Both were delicious!! Save room for dessert if possible as they are always great as well!!

We were three long time friends meeting for lunch after not seeing each other for awhile. We have been to Serafina before but were for Seattle Restaurant Week. We had fun trying different items. We each ordered a different dessert & shared them so we could each have a taste. Very yummy food. The waitstaff was so friendly & really made our stay enjoyable. A great restaurant to enjoy getting together with friends and eating great food.

We went for Seattle Restaurant Week with four other friends. All of our food was excellent with the exception of the desserts. The pana cotta and cheese plates weren't something we'd recommend. We were able to try all the appetizers between the six of us. The papperdelle and market fish (tuna) main courses were outstanding. Service was excellent as well. We would definitely recommend and also return to try their regular menu items.

We love Serafina. The ambience is so inviting and the food never disappoints. Our "Dining in Seattle " lunch was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a lovely green salad, roasted pork and pasta. Both dishes featured sauces that were over the moon good.

Serafina has been one of my favorite Seattle restaurants for over two decades and a dinner this week with friends did not disappoint. We enjoyed ordering the creative cocktails almost as much as the pasta--but everything was outstanding including our server.

Consistently delicious!! I absolutely adore this restaurant; the kitchen always delivers the finest noteworthy dishes. The meal ends, and I am already thinking about when I can next dine here. The fish of the day, the mussels, the bolognese, and now the pappardalle are divine! Thank you, Serafina.

The eggplant and pasta with bolognese were delicious. The desert was weak but they have hired a new pastry chef which will improve the selections. This restaurant is one of my favorites and I have been celebrating birthdays here with friends for years. I will definitely go back but miss some of the old items that have disappeared.

Food and service are consistently good. Friendly, knowledgable and attentive staff. Interesting and somewhat exotic wine list - especially if you like off beat Italian wines from the South. Patio is great if open. Much quieter than retsaurant which is very noisy if full.

I've been here three times and I've never been disappointed. Food is always top level and the service is just as good as the food. Nice wines by the bottle to complement the meal at decent prices. This place is not cheap, but we had a dinner for four with appetizers, entrees, wine, and dessert for $300.

Always great service and food with choices for everyone! Currently the arancinni appetizer with a special cheese sauce is our fave, my husband usually gets the special fish dish of the day which is always outstanding, and I can hardly ever not order melanzanne which is rolled eggplant stuffed with cheese and herbs on a bed of garlic pasta with an addictive marinara sauce. Although they charge for bread it's delicious and worth it and it comes with an herb oil you can dip it in.
All the staff are great and say hi to the manager, Dave, if you drop in.
The bar has a super happy hour and the food and drinks are always spot on.
The patio is always busy in the summertime but will probably close soon with our chilly weather arriving.
Have fun and treat yourself!

Had a fabulous lunch yesterday at Serafina. The waitress was fabulous and the food, too. I ordered on the Prix Fixe menu and had a truly wonderful salad called "Limone." This was followed by a small portion of Rigatoni Bolognese which was just the right amount.

Would recommend Serafina as a great place for a lunch treat.
